He's Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PICS ADDED!!!

Ocean is here! he keeps shocking me with how gentle and loving he is. Gracie ADORES him! :D Beanie and Ocean are acting like they are old pals. it's like he's always been here. i brushed him out a little. he looks a little better already. he'll get a bath later today. i took some pics of him and Gracie playing, but i have to go to work. i'll post them later.

i also found out that Ocean would have been PTS this afternoon! before i got off work. good thing i went this morning! :eek:

my brothers didn't know we were adopting him. they were so shocked to see the dog they wanted pull into the driveway this morning. :)

Remember how I said that he looks a LOT like nanook when Nook was younger? Well Ocean was rescued just like Nanook too, as Nanook was also due to be PTS the day I adopted him.

That's awesome :) What a very, very lucky boy! He sounds so sweet, too. I cannot imagine how he could sit there for so long with no one wanting him. I'm sure he will fit into your family perfectly!

Sue, I thought he looked like Nanook Jr, too! That's why I recommended the name Nanuq :p and it means polar bear.

Congradulatons! He and Gracie must be buddies! Huskies always seem to be buddies with huskies... LOL. I love his name, it's so beautiful! And it fits him because his color always reminds me of water. I'm looking forward to those pictures!

these are some pics i've taken throughout the day. He's a little cleaner, but a few more bathes will help. right now he's laying at my foot. he is a little escape artist. he's gotten out of his crate twice in the last hour. he gets out and lays down on my bed and falls asleep. he just wants to be with people.

i gave him a good lookin over. he's got flea bites on the tips of his ears and his teeth are TERRIBLE. his K9s are worn down to stubbs and they are really yellow. he may be an older dog. i'll ask the vet when he goes for a check up next week. he's also got bare spots on his elbows. probably from laying on the concrete at the shelter or where ever he lived before.

It might not be the case with Ocean, but when Skylar had balding elbows, it was from mange. I'm sure you already knew that, I just wanted to give you a heads up just incase!

thanks for the heads up. fortinatly i don't think it's mange. i've seen many dogs with the exact same elbows. if dogs lay on concrete for a long time the hair on their elbows starts to wear off. sometimes it grows back. sometimes it doesn't. depends on how long the fur has been gone and how think the skin is.


Ocean is such a push over. he won't even look me in the eye. it's a shame because he's got the most beautiful eyes! he will look at the camera though!
