How fast can you type?

I've always liked typing tests for some reasons... :rolleyes:

I got 140 wpm.

:mad: they had weired words....i got 34 wpm......i stink!!!!

I think they reckon that a word is 5 letters average. In Denmark, we use letters per minute. My last test was just under 200 a minute, which isn't that fast. :( Of course, it also depends how many mistakes you make! :eek:

WOW!!! I've been out of practice!!!

My top speed, was only 57, but I was giggling too.( and you with your 140 wpm!!)

When I was taking college courses, in the 90's, my top speed was only 96, correct words per min.

computer keyboards are condensed, not requiring a forceful fingerstroke.

I still have a very old "Royal" typewriter :eek: , I bought it at a yard sale a long time ago for $10.00. I never used one of these before buying this one. It is ancient!!! yet, beautiful!!!

I learned how to type on the good old 60's models, then, whoopie, electric typewriters were introduced.

I type 75 wpm with no errors.

i kept spelling diaguise wrong, hitting the H !!! :p

The sound of the keyboard keys made me start giggling!!!!!!!

I am striving to type this perfect.

I can get into the 70's, but a lot of capitalization is missing, and some mis spelled words.

I never do as well under pressure either, because I think too much about it and try too hard. I think my best tested score was 106 wpm, but I type for a living. I think I could do a bit better but again I always fumble under the pressure of a test :p. Of course true typing ability has less to do with actual speed and more to do with accuracy and the ability to keep up a decent speed over time. Typing "fast" gets awfully hard after you've been doing it for four hours straight.

And, of course, the 300 score I posted isn't real.. That particular test has a way to "cheat" on it ;).

160 wpm wow and my typing teacher failed me 20 yrs ago go figure? LOL :eek:

hehe i figured out your trick!!! No wonder I was all you are atyping genius and now i just figured out your secret haha.

69 wpm.

73 wpm, but I'm trying to get higher. I don't type well under pressure either.

In 9th grade I got atleast 90 WPM - I've used computers a lot more since then!

If ya wanna cheat you can atleast get atleast 1080 wpm. ;)

Upper 90s to lower 100s is basically where it stayed. :/

My average speed according to that test is somewhere in the 104-110 range. I type for a living - in the legal profession you have to be able to type like a bat out of hell and not make any mistakes. I've been clocked at a consistent 130 wpm.

Oh wow, I'm pretty pathetic at 48-50 words a minute. And thats not testing the typos. I bet I'd be half that if you included errors. :o

Mine were all between 115 and 120 wpm... :)

Woow...I'm in the 55-60 range, hehe.

36! Not that good, oh well, I type my own words a lot faster.

:o :o well, i only got 19, so.... ( i kept looking up to see if i spelled it right,) :o

7 out of the 10 tests I took I got 63 wpm. The other times it was 59, 72 & 79. I didn't really pre-read the sentances it gave you though, I just read as I typed. I probably could of gotten a better score if I did that. Oh well.

I can type faster when it comes right out of my head not by copying something.

I got 50 WPM.

But... I'm sure I can think of a good excuse. Hmmmm. Lets think.

The words were wierd.
English isn't my first language.
I never learned how to type properly.
I was typing with three fingers on each hand, as I always do. :o

lol ,if you copy and paste it, it comes up infinity :p

I just did it again ang got 65 (My last one was 40...) :D

I cant type out that odd senetance. but if i think of something my head and type it out,, its up to 180.

I type 140WPM :)
