I lost my littel Buddy today

Buddy had to be put to sleep today. He had Conjestive Heart Failure- technically is was called an Atrium Standstill. He was resting peacefully with Rich (my son) and I petting him as he went to sleep. It was very unexpected. He had not been showing signs of having any real problems. He slept a lot and was slower than he used to be just because he was 14 years old. The vet also felt a mass in his tummy so it was best that we made the decision now rather than let him suffer at all. I've cried and cried and I will cry some more. I miss him already.
He is being cremated and his ashes will be spread out in a nice pet memorial area at Wayside Waifs, the adoption facility where we adopted him 13 years ago.

Rest in Peace my little one! We love you!

Buddy was adorable. I am so sorry that he developed these problems which brought his journey on this earth to an end. You must still be in a state of shock and the life without your precious boy will never be the same. There are many of us here who know the type of sadness and pain that you are feeling. We understand and are pleased that you gave us the honor of having Buddy's memorial here. Everytime I look at Buddy's picture, tears well up. I am so, so sorry.

I send you my heartfelt condolences. Buddy was a precious companion. I can see that by the pictures that you have posted. As Rachel said, many of us here know the pain that you feel now as we have had to make that decision too. A pet's only fault is that they do not live long enough. Buddy was 14 and that is a good long life, but never long enough for the heartbroken humans they leave behind. What a beautiful plan you have for his ashes. I hope each day gets a little easier. Aww what an adorable face. I am very sorry for your loss. It's heartbreaking and feels like you got punched in the stomach. Someday his memories will cause smiles instead of tears. He had a long and happy life with you and you did what was best for him. He thanks you for that too.

Buddy lived a great life for 13 years. That day you adopted him was the greatest day in his life and although he's no longer with you I know he's in heaven looking down on you. I'm very sorry about Buddy.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand where you're coming from and it's a very difficult thing to go through when you lose a pet that means so much. I lost my chihuahua 11 yrs. ago and my heart still aches for him. I couldn't bear to part with him, so I had him cremated and I put his ashes in a pet urn I ordered thru a catalog. This urn is a teddy bear that has mohair, metal joints, and suede paws. I have him sitting next to my bed with his pictures on the wall. Not a day goes by that I don't think about my dog. :( Please send a PM if you'd like to talk. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. :( Buddy's crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge and is now whole and happy and waiting for the day that you and he can be reunited. ;)

Buddy has such a beautiful form, his fur appears so soft, so clean.

You gave him a wonderful life, and you can take pride in knowing that he did not have to suffer when he passed.

Buddy sure was a piece of work,that means good.Buddy has indeed crossed over RB and somewhere along I hope Buddy came upon Jeb, my little boy.I truly know there running and jumping.Jeb loved to play ball.Jeb went to the bridge on Saturday the 3rd.I keep coming unglued and falling apart.The Lord got a good one in Buddy..Bob
