we used to use metal but t.j is afraid of them so we had to switch to plastic so it dosn't make sound when it moves.
I use plastic for my hamster, metal for my puppy and metal for my kitty..
Stainless steel...I'll never use anything else. Ceramic bowls are nice, but I'd worry about them breaking somehow plus my dogs all have their bowls elevated so they wouldn't work too well anyway.
All of the above.
Nala has stainless steal as her elevated bowls,
Simba has plastic food bowls,
Ki has ceramics
Their water bowl is ceramic.
They all have stainless steel.
I don't use bowls- my dogs are free-fed and all eat out of a large gravity bin. I have found that they eat what they need and there is no fighting when they are not expected to eat at a certain time and stick to 'their' bowl. The only concern is the food becoming stale, so it is only filled about 1/3 at a time.
I use stainless steel for water and food.
Chester has a stainless steel bowl for his water, and a ceramic bowl for his food. :)
ETA: The kitties use plastic bowls for food and water.
The cats have ceramic bowls and Paysons is stainless steel.
Ash has a stainless steel bowl, for food and ceramic for water, Lexie has both ceramic and the backyard girls both have saucers from an old dinner set and pudding bowls for water, I was told plastic bowls were bad for cats, something toxic about them.
I voted for other beacuse they arent really bowls..
there free freed/water containers. not really bowls.
All mine have ceramics
Well, really, I use all of them! Sadie's food bowl(s) are stainless steel, she has to big water bowls, one is plastic, and the other is stainless steel, and she also has a ceramic water bowl in my bedroom.
All ceramic as you can see. Oggy's is 'Spoilt Dog, Flute's is 'Greedy Gut's' and Possum's is 'Psycho Dog' :D

I use pretty much all of those choices! Mostly metal outside. Plastic and ceramic in the house. For the dogs the bowls are mainly for their water. They don't really eat out of bowls very often!
I only voted plastic, but actually I use all 3 kinds. The dogs all eat out of plastic bowls. The cats all eat out of ceramic bowls. We have 3 water bowls that the cats and dogs use and they're all ceramic. I use plastic and metal for the birds. The rodents have plastic. The reptiles have plastic and ceramic.
I use ceramic bowls for my cats.
I have one stainless steel bowl for Finn's water. It rests in the top of a wooden cabinet thing that elevates it for ease of drinking. I need to take a picture of it, my dad made it. I forgot, he has one outside on the patio, it's plastic. He makes a mess with it, though. If it's just a bowl sitting on the floor, he digs in it and spills water everywhere, or he'll sit in or just dunk his head in it or whatever. ;) That's why, when he is in his crate, he drinks from a cage bottle, it's a half gallon rabbit bottle, basically. ;)
Tyson has a elevated stand and metal bowls. Dugan and Lady have plastic.
crayola - big stainless steel metal! (so the cats know the difference - not to steal)..
a few of my cats - ceramic bowls, prevents pushing it around while eating. others who aren't pushers, small rocking metal bowls.
and two big plastic bowls for catsitters when I am gone. :)
I have both ceremic & plastic.
I mainly use plastic bowls though.
I forgot to include other as well. :p
Nanook & Kaige have stainless steel food bowls, Raustyk has a ceramic one because I lost her SS one while camping last fall & never replaced it yet. hee hee
Their water dish is a large glass pyrex bowl.
The cats have a plastic dish now (I know bad) but it's all I could find in that size that has a non-slip bottom. As soon as I find a SS one that will work for me I will replace it.
Molly and Astra have stainless steel bowls for both food and water and Prince has plastic for both also.
Stainless steel for the dogs.
Stainless steel for the cats, but we use plastic bowls when they are being washed.
Ceramic for the rats.
Stainless Steel for the budgie.
And a glass bowl for the dwarf hammie (don't worry, he has never chewed on it in the 5-6 months we've had him).
Stainless steel for the dog inside food and water
plastic for the outside water and for Oslo. Plastic rock shaped one for tigger's water.
Molli and Sam eat out of metal bowls although I'm switching Sam's to plastic. Oreo eats out of plastic bowls.
Hershey and Daisy eat out of ceramic and concrete bowls. The concrete one's are super heavy because they manage to always tip over their bowls.
I use ceramic with my Rio & Nick my two dogs. I used to use plastic for outside but use stainless outside now. I noticed Rio's nose was changing colors and pigementation. It ended up he was allergic to the plastic. SO hence no more plastic for him or Nick which I did like for outside.

i feed all my dogs from stainless steel bowls. they are easily cleaned. i hate using plastic bowls. there's a lot of bacteria that can get caught in the niks and cuts in th bowls.
I have stainless steel & ceramic & plastic. I really like that ceramic bowls come in cute designs, and they look nice in the kitchen and stuff.
Gonzo has a ceramic food bowl and water bowl.
Fozzie has a stainless steel skid-proof food bowl and a really thick, hard plastic skid-proof water bowl. It's plastic coated in something or other.... but it's really nice, chew-proof and not the typical plastic.
And they have a huge ceramic water bowl inside, and a huge stainless steel water bowl outside.
Stainless steel for my guys, the 3 bigger dogs need theirs elevated and its a bit hard to elevate anything other than SS. The cat has plastic, it is all she will use. The little dogs free feed out of a SS bowl, but at night get a small SS bowl each for dinner.
Well Alaska and Georgia have a thing that makes the bowls go up higher so they do not get bloated but the bowl is metal. Buddy has a non-stick bowl.
