Do you think this was wrong of me?
I USED to work at a petstore that had puppies when I was younger like 10-13
and I went in there yesterday and they had husky pups and the kid I used to work with was holding one and hes like oh look how cute they are and there were people standing there petting it and I said ya too bad they come from puppy mills and spend there days sitting in rott with no interaction. I felt like saying more but I didnt. He looked at me when they left and he's like why did you say that when customers were there, I'm like I dont care I dotn work here anymore I never will again and if it means saving these puppies then I will say what I want. Do you guys think that was wrong for me saying that around customers or right? Also I went in again today cause there was a sweet bunny in there I was playing with and went back to see him and some one said oh look a maltipoo and someone said whats that and they said a shit zu and a maltise cross.. I was about to go up to them and blurt out ya you can get one from the local pound for 300$ less and you'll be saving its life instead of increasing these puppies chance of dying. But they stopped talking by the time I got there. My mom thinks I was in the wrong for saying those things! But she dosent understand very well where these puppies come from either.
Maybe A Little Discretion
I don't think you are wrong but perhaps you can find more efective and meaningful ways to get your message heard and/or make a difference. The folks who frequent pet stores (remember - you were there and have since gone back) will continue to do so.
Perhaps you can get a job with a rescue group - or start one. Advertise and compete against those puppy mill pet stores and spread the word with literature and invitations to come see your beautiful babies. :D
