Shelter Picture Time

Thought I'd post a few pics of some of our dogs I think you guys would enjoy. I was in a hurry when I took some of them, but I'm planning on getting better pics tomorrow!

This is Radar, a yellow labby boy. He has 2 applications and will be going home this weekend!! I didn't have time to take him out of the kennel for a picture because we were closing down and I just ran in to snap a shot real fast.

These are some Dachshund mix puppies that were abandoned at our door. They're little yappers! I am taking them to a fund raiser tomorrow at Saks Fifth Avenue.

And here's Bear, the gentlest, sweetest dog ever!!! He doesn't pull on his leash, he has wonderful manners, and he'll sit right smack in your lap! He's a big lover. He defines the term 'gentle giant'. His pictures don't do him justice at all. And he's a LOT bigger than he looks. He got adopted today!!!!!!

Bear looks like a sweetie. I think he looks a little like Drake except that Drake is lighter in the face. They both have the fuzzy fluff on the ears :D :D

Oh my God!!! I want Bear!!! If he doesn't work out with his new owners, you HAVE to promise to send him north!!! They are all adorable though, Bear just jumped out at me...he's my fave!!!

They are all so beautiful, but I must admit I have a soft spot for Bear too :)

Oh, Aly, they all look so wonderful. It is obvious that your shelter does a wonderful job caring for these dogs and placing them!! What great success stories you were able to report!! :D

I think Bear might have fit in nicely with my two!!! So glad he was adopted. What a cutie he is!!!!

Aly, I'm DYINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! OK, I think it's time to step in here and give some "air time" to Radar!!! Star thinks he's a hunka-hunka labby love, and is sending out HER radar and is locking on!!:) And what about those ADORABLE Daschy buttskies!!:D Some of you may know that Star has a tendency to turn me her "best butt side" when being photographed. (As you can see, this started in puppyhood!:D) So take it from a pro, those are some of the cutest little hineys in dogdom!;)

I had no time to take more pics of the pups today. I took the Dachshunds to Saks Fifth Avenue with me today for several hours for an Outreach/Fund Raising thing. I got SOOO attached to them! My friend who I work with is adopting the only girl (black one). She has another Dachshund at home and is very excited. The boys are SO sweet and they got several applications at the outreach today, all of them are Saks employees!!! By the end of the day, the puppies had lipstick and perfume all over them from being cuddled and kissed by the nice women :)

There's a sweet Golden mix we have at the shelter right now named Honey!! I hope to get some pics of her and some more of the puppies and a few others.

oh aly!!! love all of your shelter pics...but i have a question as i am a volunteer at dogs and cats forever the only no-kill facility in our county....i work full time for federated dept. stores....though i have put out collection boxes in our loungs for food,blankets,toys,etc.....i would love to know how you got an "in" with saks as to brining animals there for adop[tion....i would love to do the same...but couldn't get by the health codes....what should i do differently???? please advise....thanks-in-advance,nicole...a.k.a. deli dog
