My heart breaks for you and your family. You are so brave to let Sherman go before he is in too much pain. I am truly sorry that you have to part with your baby so soon, but God needs him now.

A Dog's Prayer
Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world’s sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps falls upon my waiting ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god and I am your devoted worshiper.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.
And, beloved master, should the great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest - and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

I've lit a candle to help guide the way, Sherman.
I'm at work so I can't view this thread for very long....LES :( :(
RIP sweet Sherman. You are so loved by so many people all around the world.
Prayers to all of you. I know how hard this is, as do all of us on PT. Sweet Sherman, so many people love you SO much!
All of us with a very heavy heart will be grieving with you. I guess we just have to focus on a joyous reunion at the Rainbow Bridge for Sherman and picture him running - pain free - having fun - until you meet again.
Hu-Mom and Dad, and of course Star,
We are so sorry to hear of this news. We are crying with you, as we know what it's like to lose a dog you're so close to. Please know we've been thinking of you and lifting you up in prayer. We know it's not an easy time...but hang in there. Take care all. We miss you at the Findlay dog park!
Love,
Nathan and Joy Anderson and Bailey
(Bailey is the Beagle who usually has her tail between her legs at the dog park)
I am so sorry that things are going this way. Dear, dear Sherman... though I've never met you, I've read all about you on this site and have loved seeing your smiling face. Be a brave boy, and tonight when you go to the Bridge, know that all of here at PT are mourning you, and wishing they could do something to have made you well again. Also know that we wish you to be free from pain, and to be healthy and happy and romping once again. Bless you Sherman. Big hugs and kisses to you.
I'm so very sorry. Those of us that have been down this road know how difficult this is. My heart is breaking for you all. I'm glad that your RB dog Rosie is there to make sure his passing is a smooth one. I hope my angels I loaned him will calm him, and you, also. Animals are so special and this is part of the risk we take when letting them into our hearts. But the grief doesn't outweigh the happiness and joy they give to our lives. Your Sherman is a very special gift that God gave you. It's time for him to be called to his final home, where he will play without pain, always remembering the love of his family. The day we're reunited will be a happy one, indeed. I know from experience that nothing can take away the pain but I hope all of our words can bring you comfort, if even for a few brief moments.
Written through many tears,
Val
You know I thought of you guys on the way to the vet this morning, and i said a prayer for all of you and for sherman that if it was bad news with the test results, God would give all of you the strength and show you a way to do what needed to be done. Have a safe trip to the Bridge sweet Sherman.
May God continue to bless and give all of you strength and peace.
Im so very sorry.
I know all too well the pain of losing a dog so young. It makes you feel so cheated. :( But nothing can take away the years we did have with our beloved pup. Sherman had a great life with his family. He will soon be at the Rainbow Bridge and besides your Rosie I just know all of the Pet Talk angels will come running to greet him. I will keep you close in my thoughts and prayers this evening. {{{hugs}}}

You will find none of that here - just deep sorrow at the loss of such a gorgeous young dog and endless compassion for his family who did all they could for him. Bless you allQuote:
This is not a light nor quick decision. So please, no critisism.
Oh dear Sherman, I'm sorry it has to end this way. My heart aches for your mom, dad and Star. They are going to miss that fluffy fur, those big beautiful eyes and your soft kisses. So will all of us that have had the pleasure of meeting you.
I've had a candle lit for you all day. From the sound of it, by the time my flame burns out you will be on your way to the bridge. I'll light another one though, just in case it gets dark out and you have a little trouble seeing while your headed to the bridge. Have fun with Rosie and when you get settled will you please visit with my RB kids Angus & Keisha (I'm sure Angus will be much nicer there than he was at the park;))
Have a good trip and know you will be sorely missed all over the world.
Pat, it's taken me forever to sit here and write this. I'm surprised I could get the words down in between wiping my tears and blowing my nose. The monitor just seemed so blurry.
I'm gonna miss that handsome man of yours. Will you please give him a extra big (((((HUG))))) and some smooches from all of us here at the house? Thanks.
Your kids are gonna have a ball at the bridge.
Love Anna, Mark, Roxey, Huney & Bon
