You know, Gini, I have a program that can easily make a slide show out of pictures. We could have everyone submit photos to me and I could make one big slideshow that loops continuously while the BBQ is going on. I could make them show up in random order so we'd all have to sit glued to the screen so we'd be sure to be there when our precious critter showed up. Hmmm....then we could rent a big screen TV and have the computer hooked up to it so we all wouldn't have to crowd around a small computer screen....we could arrange chairs around the TV like a theater......then we could rent one of those little popcorn machines on wheels so we could serve popcorn....which of course would make us all drink more slushies.....Quote:

1) Put Peep on a plastic plate and place in microwave for 30 seconds:

Poor Peep!!
I just thought of something.....
There is a saying and I THINK it came from a TV show- It really fit
this year's BBQ and should be adopted as the Ofiicial Pet Talk Motto..
More fun than humans should be allowed to have.
--------------------------------------------------
More shout outs???
Thanks to every who called and everyone who used THEIR cell phones to connect us across the miles.
I envision PT gatherings as giant fairs one day...
Food, entertainment, an area for phone calls, photo booths
rides and petting zoos.
Poor GINI!!
---------------------------------------------
Laura and Alexa..
IT was fun to meet you!
Next year Laura drives?
Stacey.
I panicked...I thought that Kylie may have lost her picture!!
Did she like it.??
KAK,
Again you are a trouble maker...that is not catnip in those gifts!
Amberlee,
You and KAK came in together so you are to blame also......Edward freaked out with that stuff.
For some reason Richard's mention of Edward made me remember this.
Sara's Eddie's full name is Eduardo. So one night we're all out to dinner and what is the bus person's name? Yep - Eduardo. Didn't look a bit like Eddie though....;)
LOLOLOLOL,
I forgot this until I read Zippy's post in the "What is a Pet Talker" thread..
I think that Gini's kitchen truly let out a sigh of relief when we all left.
Slick made some chili and gave me a taste....that taste was followed by a little bowl to savor her recipe......
I ate a spoonful, then another and hit the bottom of the dish...
I used the spoon to make a circuit of the bottom of the bowl and out comes a pink pinkie finger.
Yep,
There was a finger in my chili!!
Of course, I can't sue Gini.....And I don't know Canadian law...
So I gave Slick the finger.....
back!!!
:D
Sorry to interrupt your friendly chitchat - mean no harm! ;)
This is just to say that Randi arrived safely in Copenhagen around 15.30 danish time! :) :) She'll most likely do some posting tomorrow and she promises to put her photos on PT asap - but right now she is veeery tired! Fister is due in a few moments and I know she's looking very much forward to getting him back home! :)
And as for me... I'm just glad to have my friend back and I'm really looking forward to hear some more about everything. Although I must confess that I too have been lurking at the BBQ thread...! Thanks for sharing all those great pictures! I too did some purr-ing over the ones with the firebrigade.... mm!:D :D
Love,
Sus
And I had a note from Karen (KK) that she too has arrived home safely....
I'm happy to hear that everyone has arrived safely! :) Thanks for the updates. Randi, it was a pleasure to meet you, and KK (Karen) it was a pleasure to meet you too!
**hugs**
You can interrupt our chitchat anytime for that sort of good news!Quote:

Please feel free to just jump right in whenever you want. No need to lurk but you are welcome to!
:)
Sara, glad to hear Karen is home safe too!:)
I believe that leaves Laurie (who is still in San Diego) and Staci's luggage...............................
:D
The only thing that makes it worthwhile getting back home after a vacation is seeing your furry friends again who are either thrilled to see you - or are going to ignore you for a few days as punishment!
I am so happy everyone is getting back home safely.
After we dropped off Slick at the airport, Richard and I were talking of course, about the BBQ.
I mentioned that God must love our BBQ - just like the Rosebowl Parade - it is always a beautiful day - and people go back home feeling happy.
Today promises to be in the 100's here............and I have to work today.
Back home safe and sound!! No delays on the way home. I was concerned when I got to O'Hare and saw four screens full of delayed flights, due to the unexpected thunderstorms (would the flights still have been delayed if the storms had been expected???). Thankfully mine was fine.
Embarrassingly, I have virtually no pictures of the BBQ to post! I am going to have to save other people's photos and pretend they are mine. ;) I seem to have a camera full of cat pictures. :o Eddie on his supervising balcony, HH the Lady Edwina modelling her collection, Eddie looking worried (just his normal look).
I managed to pat Rascal before he dived under the bed. As far as three orange cats go, all I can say is that I only saw one. At one point a tail sauntered through the room, but you never see more than one orange cat at a time ...... suspicious.
I was in Chicago for three days after the BBQ and I got to meet Peanut and Cracker Jack while I was there. Again, I have heaps of pictures of them, but none of Debbie and Terry. :o
I had a fantastic time. Great food (are you still eating it, Gini?), wonderful people, and what can I say about the slushies? The time passed way too quickly. The only problem was the lack of a slide show ... The plans for next year sound good.
I was so busy talking that I didn't eat or drink nearly enough. And do you know what????!!! I didn't have one of Slick's Baileys! That was the only reason I went! :D Oh well, maybe some other time.
Thank you so much everybody!!
I am so jealous! When is next year's BBQ? I want to start saving for the trip. It sounds like the best time. And to get to meet all of you would just be fabulous.
Sorry Richard but I used some of the catnip that AmberLee had given me and it smelled like very potent stuff. I'm glad that Eddie's been enjoying it.:)Quote:

I'm so glad to hear that everyone has arrived back home safely. It was so good to see everyone again and meet all of the new people too.:) Maybe next year we should have the BBQ last for 2 days instead of one since the time really does pass too quickly.;)
Kelly, thanks for posting all of your wonderful pictures. I like them all except for the ones with me in them. I hate posing for pictures.;) I'm looking forward to seeing some more pictures so please hurry up and post them everyone.:)
