It's no fun having a cast on and not being able to use your right hand, but I hope you heal up and don't have pain. Feel better soon!
Elyse, I hope your recovery goes smoothly and painless. As Randi said, a cast is no fun, especially on your right hand.
Keep us updated!
I a hoping for a full recovery.
I'm typing with two hands! Yay!
That's great, Elyse!
Great news for you AND for your friend! Win-win!:love:
Great News, Elyse!:D
A high school friend’s brother (Bob) had surgery yesterday. They had to stop part way through because of complications. Bob is in the intensive care unit. I’m not sure yet if they will take him to finish the procedure.
I hope that Bob will recover, and that they can finish the procedure.
Sending best wishes to you, Bob and his family!
I am so very sorry for your loss, your whole families massive loss. Words cannot express how bad I feel about what you have all been through and yet your heart is still open, loving and kind. I am certain you Grandmother is very proud of you and has faith in you, always in your heart and and with you forever. I will certainly hope and pray that you and your family find all the answers that you need and healing will begin.
Prayers for me pretty please. I'm not shy, I could use prayers for sure. Had my second surgery a month ago for my broken right arm. Had all the hardware taken out finally, 7 screws and a metal plate. They decided to graft in some cadaver bone too. The scar is pretty gruesome, but I don't care about that. Don't remember signing a consent form for the bone graft 😱 but I suppose it must have been in there amongst all the papers I signed. Kinda creepy eh. I'm feeling much better finally but I need all the prayers I can get please. Hopefully I can start physio soon, I'll send my bestest prayers for all of you Pet Talk Peeps in return. THANKS and thank you again! 🌹❤️😘
I wish you a speedy and not-too-painful recovery, and that you will be able to start physical therapy soon!
I wonder why they didn't use your own bone for the graft...
Great question cats4ever. He said he made the call when he realized it was necessary. There was also two staples on the back of my shoulder blade where he put in some sort of scope and had a look around. He thinks pretty highly of himself and gave me the impression answering my questions was beneath him. That's fine, I feel 99 % better so he's a superstar to me 😻🤜🏻🤛 Thank you for the warm wishes! One of the screws came loose and hurt so much. All gone👍🏿
Please pray for our neighbor Dick J, a spry elderly man. He had not collected his mail for a couple days, so Norm, my coworker who is the letter carrier here, called in a wellness check. When I passed his house earlier today, there was a state police truck, and an ambulance. I saw an EMT carrying a pillow and other things headed for the woods behind the house, and have heard nothing since. But I figure he must be alive, but perhaps injured - dead folks do not need pillows, right?
Please prayer for me, in dealing with being disappointed in people. I do not mean to find fault, but missteps by a younger man meant a fairly new, very frail member of the community named Donna (cancer survivor, with lingering frailty) almost went without food. I was able to help her, by the grace of God.
A worrisome situation in our immediate vicinity is a man who threatened to shoot our dogs if he caught them on his property again. Dusky is the sweetest pup, but he is black - literally, and we think the man is afraid of him because of that. He told Kermit Dusky "had him cornered in his garage," which is so totally against Dusky's whole personality - he likely ran up to him to say hello. We do let the dogs out loose to keep predators away from our animals, and they do a great job, but sometimes then go off visiting folks.
A woman we met because of our dogs, who adores them, and even sometimes keeps them overnight - with permission - is diagnosed with breast cancer, and undergoing radiation therapy. Our families have become friends because of our dogs, since Sue's diagnosis, Dusky feels the need to be over there, and has whined when we pass her house when he's in the car. She lives in Connecticut, but her family has a place up here, and they come up as often as they can. So please prayer for Sue, and her family as well.
Prayers on the way to all the people who need them now.
Thank you.
Dick is alive and well enough to be asking about his cat. He was discovered, hypothermic and unresponsive, taken to the local hospital and medflighted over to a bigger hospital in New Hampshire. But because of Norm's actions he is alive and recovering.
So folks, check on elderly friends and neighbors, please! It could save an important life!
Prayers are on the way for Dick and you, Karen, and Donna and Sue, and that the situation with your dogs and the neighbor can be resolved satisfactorily. And that Dick's cat is all right!
That's so good that Norm checked on Dick and got him the help he needed, and that you were able to help Donna!

A neighbors rottweiler would visit us form time to time. the first time it was quite upsetting cuz for one it was totally out of the blue an a surprise to both me an the dog to happen upon each other. also she did NOT look the least bit friendly but instead she had that look dogs often display when theyve been caught doing something they know theyre not supposed to be doing. i knew staring a dog in the eyes was a no no an it was best not to forwardly approach a stranger dog so i averted my gaze an walked slowly sideways away from her keeping her in my peripheral vision. after a few steps she ran over to me an leaned against my leg an put her head right under my hand for a good ear scratching. after that her an i were fine with each other an i enjoyed her visits. but if we were not in my wide open field i (or the dog) may of felt trapped an even more unsure of each other an lemmie tell you; the last thing i cared about is what color(s) the dog was. for me it was totally the popup surprise situation an size of the dog.
perhaps try an invite your neighbor over for lunch an show him that your dog is friendly?
i have your dog an both neighbors an pets in my prayers
This is Elyse. I can't go into too much detail here but this is my request. A friend found out she had cancer and had surgery this past week. Turns out she will need another, much more extensive surgery as soon as possible. So if you would say a prayer for my friend K, I would be very grateful. Thank you!
Ohh, dear mate - I hope you get weel soon
im working from home, and 80 of PR are doing the same
Hope you see some CS when you not sleeping.
My friend’s second surgery went very smoothly and she’s home.
I took another big fall last Saturday and had surgery for a broken left tibia, and hardware changes for my poorly healed left femur fracture from ‘16. So “I iz borked” again.
Good grief, Elyse! More prayers on the way for you! I hope it heals up well.
I'm glad your friend's surgery went well.

:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
Shes passed away quite sometime ago but her visits continued well into her grey old age though :D
Thats awesome news about your friend!
sorry to hear about your borkingness happening again. :( sending healing/speedy recovery thoughts to both you an your friend
may i ask how it is that you fell?
i tend to keep twisting my left ankle an splatting to the ground. usually face planting cuz i cant get my hands down in time enough to brace my fall anymore an no matter how careful i am i still tend to do it at least once a year
I was walking from my car to the entrance to my building (I live in a condominium building). I had my cane in my right hand as usual. I think one of two things happened - either I didn't put the cane solidly down, and it went out from under me; or the pavement was slippery and the cane just slid. Or both. The cane went out in front of me. I landed on my knees and then my hands.
OOF, Elyse! How are you doing now? Kitties and I hope things have been healing up well.
And Vette, we hope you haven't had any recent mishaps!
We're sending loads of loving good wishes and healing energies to all who can use some!

It's not that I have prayer requests, but I have some desires, the fulfillment of which would make my life more comfortable. I have long ceased to dream of something unrealizable, I dream of useful things that will make life easier for me and my family. I haven't told my wife yet, but I have already ordered the Weber Spirit E310 gas grill. We really love outdoor activities and grilled meat, for such gatherings, this is the perfect treat. This is my mundane dream - to organize warm and cozy gatherings in the summer. You can invite friends and relatives. This is the most valuable thing and I thought about it just during the quarantine.
Lovely! Thank you. And best wishes with it!

Prayers please for our beloved Lulu, our warrior princess. She is a Pointer/Blue heeler (Australian Cattledog) mix, and a year and a half old. Yesterday she was napping under a visitor's car, and got run over when the visitor left abruptly. She then was scared and ran - so Kermit sent most of the day scouring the woods nearby looking for her, calling her, with no success. After dark last night a neighbor drove her home, she was on his porch when he got home from work, and when he opened his door, she went in his house and jumped up on the couch.
When she got home she went up and slept on my bed, until Kermit got back and carried her to his bed and examined her. No broken bones, but she was obviously in pain, and would not eat, He took her to the vet this morning, and she has a massive hernia, and her organs are pushed up int her chest. She needs surgery, but we have to take her to a different vet for that - they don't have the capability there. But it's going to be at least $2000, and there's a chance she might not survive.
Prayers please! This is so scary. She is our self-appointed defender of the farm, and chases off foxes nearly every night, especially this time of year. She is sweet, cuddly and just the best dog ever.
