Slick, I'm so sorry to hear you're sick like that and that you can't make it to the BBQ. Take care of yourself and get well soon, ok? I'll miss going, too. I have a small layover in San Jose on the 15th so I'll get to see a tiny part of CA.

I have just gotten off the phone with Costco and they have given me permission to bring Richard with me - just one more time - IF, I promise
that he will behave
We will be laying in supplies for the BBQ.
I just may lose my Costco membership entirely this time. :D :D

100 degrees plus......hotter than you know what!
Slick get better........
I am resting my slushie finger......you know, to mix the drinks!! :D
Well, off to think of more things to do..
Hi all, it looks like planning is in full force for the BBQ! I regret to say we may not be able to make it. I'm still looking into finding a place to stay. Original plans fell through, and my uncle's family is going through some trauma, so they really don't want visitors, which I can understand. :(
I'll keep looking for cheap alternatives, but if we can't make it, I hope you all have fun! :D
**hugs**
Karen, I have sent you a private message. I hope that you get it today.
Otherwise, I will give you a phone call.
xxoo Gini
I have been reading this thread, with envy, of course. I wish, wish, wish we could come (or that just I could come). The timing doesn't work, once again. Scott and I are going to New York City at the end of this month for 5 days and we just came off of a week's vacation with our family a couple of weeks ago. Darn it. One day, I will be there!!!! Keep a spot for me, Gini.
I hope that you all will have a wonderful time.
Logan
Logan, EVERYONE, including me wishes that you could be at the BBQ too.
It would be wonderful to meet you - and share the craziness of the day!
A spot is always here for you - never fear.
It is getting down to the wire - but lists are made - shopping is being done - and it will soon be time for the airport runs. I have that route down to a "T".
The only thing that I am worried about is that it is supposed to be very HOT
here next week. I guess it IS July! :D
HOT? It's supposed to be HOT?
gee - any idea on what could cool us down? :p ;)
:D Gosh, Julie, I don't know...........but I went out to do some shopping for some "ingredients" yesterday ;) ;) ;)
hi i just wanted to ask a final question ........Who is attending?? do you have a list? i wanna know in case everything goes as planned and i go i would like to take a little something for you guys...... ;)
Sure, order the Fire Brigade! They can "cool down" the over-heated" Pettalkers... :pQuote:

Lut, after putting in a new furnace/air conditioning/electrical upgrade for my old home/carpeting/and a "surprise" requirement to re-wire the entire upper half of my home (unbelievably expensive) - the "surprise" may be that
I am just holding the BBQ......................no special gifts this year.
However, I do have a surprise for you if I ever get it together and to the post office. ;)
Aw... thanks!! Now I can hardly wait to get it... ;) :D
Have lots of fun at the BBQ! PT-metings are the best, I have felt that too now in London! It is as if I knew them all for ages!!
Just the fact that you hold the BBQ at your house is all the special gift any of us need. :DQuote:

I for one tho am not one that would be cooled down by the Fire brigade! that might heat me up! :p
I just checked a weather web site and it was saying mid-80-s for next week in LA. I do realize weather varies greatly from the coast to the inland areas - so lets see how the week plays out.
Now I just need to figure out what pants to wear.
a pair that goes well with WINE! :)Quote:

My house is starting to fill up with food and slushie mix and stuff.
If anyone were to walk in here and look around - they would either think I was a total boozer - and man - can she ever eat - just look at this food.
The kitties are getting suspicious too.
Whadja buy us Mom - huh huh????
Catland, you can wear your finest pants this year! :D I won't be there to kick red wine around. :o Wish I were though - except for the kicking of course.
Hope you all have a great time, while I'm slaving away in a non AC office. :(
For those of you that may be concerned :D :D - I have called the Rooter company to come out and check all of my sewer lines, just to be on the safe side.
I hate cleaning bathtubs in the middle of the night! :D
:) I will miss you all.
**sigh**
I'm starting to regret my decision not to attend....I knew this would happen as the time got closer.
However, I'll be saving lots of money for next year.
Gini, be sure to shave both legs before calling RR and make sure you get the wiggle down just right as you are whipping up the Baileys.
....and I speak for others when I say PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES starting from when you pick up the attendees at the airport!!! Right guys??
Have a blast! Wishing I could be there with you all, too.
Enjoy, all!
*sigh* Quite right Slick! Remember folks that us poor souls sitting at home are desperate for pictures! :D I'm not going to be at home so I can't even phone in, but have a wonderful, wonderful time everybody!! :D
Me neither, as we are leaving for France tomorrow. If the weather stays nice, we might be away for a whole week!Quote:

I, too, will be watching for uppydates and pictures.
Wine? Did someone mention wine? How's this - waaaahhhh....I wanna go to the BBQ....waaaahhhh......
And how much I wish that all that were here last year and the years prior could be here.
It just won't be the same.
But it is a long way to travel just to wash your pants!! :D :D
Gini, the other night I had a dream that I surprised you by showing up on your doorstep on Saturday morning. All you had to say was "Well, you can stay for the day but I'm afraid there is no room at the Inn!" I woke up and giggled. :D
Debbie, I beg to differ. If it wasn't for Gini this "whole CA BBQ" would just be a fantasy.Quote:
