Just because someone does something constantly doesn't mean they don't get scared doing it.
A stock car set up for qualifying is normally set up loose as heck, and the driver is doing a slide job for two laps.

What was the line?
If you say you aren't scared, you are lying-or dead?:D:eek:;)
Holy Crap,
Just tuned into the qual runs for the Indy Car race in Sonoma. Will Power hit car that had spun out on a blind corner.
Tossing a prayer out to both drivers!
That's not it at all. I am SO tired of listening to him. I turned the radio off today during his pre-race interview. I mute the TV when he is on. He drives me crazy. Like was previously mentioned by someone else, I can't stand his post qualifying interviews lately either. I think he is full of baloney (and maybe bologna too.) He just rubs me the wrong way. I've listened to his scanner. He wants everyone to pull over for him because he is trying to get in the chase. He had his "farewell tour" years ago. I'm just ready for him to be gone. I even like Junior better than him, and believe me, that's saying a lot! But I know that is the beauty of NASCAR, there are drivers we love and drivers we love to hate and drivers we just hate. He happens to fall into that last category in my house. I'm glad there are others that like him though.
Tony Stewart Whines on the scanner, Jeff Gordon whines, Jr Whines, Robby Gordon whines.
I've heard Mark complain about other drivers. Mainly under the heading of "Why is XXX runnin me so hard, it's lap 15?"
He drives clean, drives against other drivers the way they do to him, it used to be incredible watching Mark/Earnhardt Sr/Rusty run against each other.
They rubbed each other, but rarely punted each other.
I love Mark's comments about burnouts...."Man, those are stupid. If these kids had to FIX those engines after a race they wouldn't do that."
I understand the whining. I've heard Mark tell his spotter to talk to others to tell their driver to get out of his way because he is racing to get in the chase. I think that is tacky. There are lots of drivers that complain on the scanner, and I don't criticize them for that. And there are lots of clean racing drivers. I've been around to watch the old school drivers race. I've been a Bill Elliott fan since the mid 80s. I never cared much for Mark and for the last few years he has really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not asking that others agree with my feelings, just voicing mine. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. That wasn't my intent.
The WORST whiner on the radio is Danica Patrick in traffic.
She gets to NASCAR, I'm blocking her channel.
Martin, Earnhardt Sr, the Labontes, Gant, would all give each other breaks at times if it didn't affect them.
With the exception of a few, that seems to be gone.
Giving a break is one thing. Practically demanding one is a different story or even thinking you deserve one. The sport is a lot different now than it was 20 years ago also.
Which is why I enjoy watching the races on ESPN classic when they show them.
BTW, looks liek Tony won't be saying anything on the radio tonight...
I like watching them too. When they were on originally, I didn't get to watch them. I was listening on the radio. It's really interesting to see Bristol before all the seats were there.
I wish I could do what I used to do, watch on TV and listen to MRN.
Especially when Fox has the broadcasts. Boogity this, darrel.
*WOOO!!!!* Go KYLE!
Now only 34 points out of the top 12!
Richard, looks like your NASCAR jesus was on our side today:p

Mark said he doesn't want you to forget this face:D

Next time in the rear view mirror maybe?:D
NASCAR Jesus looks over all wheeled competition and entertainment.:D
He told me that second place is good, for our driver not to be greedy.
Also, he want all of you fans to build shrines and burn incense. He prefers Valvoline, but that smokes up the house.;)
It was a great race!
I HATE BRISTOL
I LOVE BRISTOL.
I walked out of the house and repotted some plants while MM was in the lead.
I cannot handle the suspense.
Dear Stoack Car Jesus,
I am sorry I spoke ill of Mark Martin. I will keep my thoughts to myself, if Tony never has to go through another night like to tonight for the rest of the season.
Amen.
PS. Thank you for the good finishes for Denny and Ryan. Thank you for not letting Jimmie win. And most of all, thank you for (gulp!) Kyle's win! I was so happy it was not a Hendrick driver, and really want things to stay tight for the chase so it is constantly changing at Richmond!
Mark was searching for Victory Lane, but there was a Shrub blocking his view. ;)
Good race last night.
Wow, whats up with the Mark Martin bashing
Stock Car Jesus,
Please give us a good race this weekend with no weather, or large scale smashups. I would like the championship contested as fairly as possible.
No preferential treatment for no one.......
except #5
AMEN.
Dear Stock Car Jesus,
I would like to echo Richard's prayer and extend it thorugh Richmond. I will be at the race there, and truely do not want to know who made the chase until the last lap of the race. And I would be truely grateful for good weather in Virginia.
AMEN
PS...I would like to strike that part about #5 from my echo and replace it with #39.
Come,
Join me in prayer.
Gonna give KB a tip of the hat.
He donated 30 K to a Nashville School System to buy guitars for the music programs.
There,
My hat is back on my head.;):D
That is a nice gesture. I just feel that it is sort of empty. It comes after he was here a couple of weeks ago. He got VERY snippy when asked about the incident and then refused to answer any more questions from the media. I get the feeling this is a way to placate people around here. Maybe I'm wrong, that's just my feeling. But, it is a good thing for the kids that get to use the guitars.
Original news report.
I echo your prayer and replace your #39 with #18;) That boy deserves to be in the chase.
And as for the weather..PLEASE, PLEASE NO RAIN. I don't wanna get wet!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
If it were me I would be SO tired of answering that question. I think he had every right to be snippy.
If KB had donated a million to the schools He might have gotten forgiveness for his smashing episode. The Guitar he smashed cost Nascar $38,000 to have it built. Have you every seen any racer, in any venue, smash their trophy before. The fact that it was a guitar does not make it Cool. He is a race car driver not a Rock Star, although I believe he actually thinks of himself as a Rock Star. There is no doubt he is a great race car driver but until he learns to win and loose gracefully he will just be a spoiled immature kid to me.
A totally rain free race with my Man #9 finishing in top 5 would be great.
O.k.
Who prayed for this?

I read that right after it happened yesterday. I was trying to set my fantasy driver lineup. I forgot to post it. Frisbee=dangerous sport.
How did I miss that news?!? That is worse the Jimmie breaking his wrist in a golf cart...at tleast that was in the off season! Of course, that is usually the kind of controversy that will lead him to win both races or something like that.
It appears silly season is now in full motion...Bobby Labonte out of the '96 for 7 races, and Colin Braun in. So Bobby goes to the 71 for those races. David, well 1 race with the Wood Brothers, and 3 in a 4th entry for JGR. He may have gotten the best deal in that little mix-up.
And of course Kesolowski to drive the #12 in 2010. How does that affect living arrangements?
Erik Darnell is in the #96 not Colin Braun
Amy....only 1 more weekhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ileys/wooo.gif I sooooo cannot waithttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...excited001.gif
