Ya think?
I almost made a comment about this yesterday.
First, He opens the kids up to being critiqued, I liked the comment the older one made about decorating her room in the White House should dad win. Do we have to foot that bill?
Second was the hammering BO took about his clothes (LOL, I am not the only one who thinks of the saying "clothes make the man") and his leaving his bags on the floor.
I think that he took more personal hits from his own family than he does from the press-kinda like going to a family reunion and having all your foibles exposed in front of everyone.
HE didn't come off as 'presidential' as he wants us to think-I had a friend who lived in the same kind of household, three woman and one man-the dinner invites to me stopped as the kids got older-during the table conversations they'd kid dad about his house habits and I could tell that it bothered him.
Guys with dreams of 'big offices' don't want people to see what their weaknesses are-BO is a good example of that.
The consultant who suggested the interview is probably looking for a new gig right about now.
-------
I wonder when we'll get to meet JM's family?:p
Jessie Jackson is apologing all over the place for crude comments about
BO that were overheard in an open mike at a political gathering. I wish he
would just disappear from public view for a long, long time. What the heck
does he do for a living anyway?
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpu...ke-catche.html
JJ collects money from unions to speak at events.
JJ and Al Sharptongue have been very silent in the previous months. I think that they have a little of the 'presumptive envy' because BO was able to do something that they tried and were unsuccessful.
It's a guy thing-they are ticked off and have no intention of playing second fiddle. Some of the 'luster' that they had hoped for in their pres campaigns was stolen by this rookie senator with little political experience, compared to their media/BS/political savvy.
JJ said what he felt and his apology was pretty weird.....He starts to list 50 years of civil rights dates, marches and laws.
What does that have to do with crumbing on someone you don't see eye to eye with?
-----------------------------------
LOL, Poor BO.
He went on the Today Show with his tail tucked-HE's so caclulated with his campaign and he slips up by going on a dopey entertainment show. The kids said nothing that would hurt his run for office.
It's his bloated ego and desire to be "the man".
Sorry Chucky, you messed that one up.
You are dead on right with your reading of JJ.:) Talk about egos, his is
completely over the top.
BO speaks out about black fathers who are absent from their childrens
lives & the effect that has on the Black community, and JJ wants to
attack BO for it. At least BO speaks the truth, just like Bill Cosby does.
And that's why BC gets a short shrift from the public.
The one thing that people do not want to hear is the truth. People do not want to hear about the problems in their background/ethnicity/group.
Instead of bucking up and admitting to a problem, it's far easier to claim that you are being mistreated and misunderstood. It's everyone else's problem, not yours.
In today's newspaper a woman is suing the LAPD for shooting here husband because he was black.
Do you think that crashing into a tree, refusing to get out of the car, then running from the vehicle with something that looked like a gun MIGHT have had something to do with his death?
Probably not.

Bring Taser To Every Speech.
Do you remember "Don't tase me, bro?"
They should warn people that asking stupid questions like "What do you think about Viagra?" should be met with either a beating, pepper spray or a taser in the butt. Hey jerkweed, do you talk to your parents that way? This law will and can be repealed when the candidate's kids start making them look human during a press interview.
---------
As for JJ wanting to cut off some of BO's body parts....I think that MO already has them displayed on the fireplace mantle.
I wonder where McCain's reside?;)
Notice that Cindy never carries a purse.....She probably needs one of those rolling suitcases!:D:eek:
------------------
I stand corrected on the "Viagra" question.
Again, the media feeds you the edited version of the question and answer that JM was asked earlier today.
The newsheads all made it sound like someone had asked the PRESUMPTIVE-who thought of that stupid phrase?-candidate, JM about why some health plans cover the costs of Viagra and not BCPs.
With no presentation of WHY Mac was left stumbling around for an answer, the question was left to my imagination-A scenario like the BC debacle, "Boxers or briefs, Mister President?".
It wasn't when I saw the total clip this afternoon.....about 4 hours after the news channels were showing a stuttering JM trying to find an answer.
IT was a fair question.
A few days ago the front of the El lay Daily News had a pic of BO and the Mayor of the town doing the 'fist bump'.
Because I know that no one on PT is "hood" or has street cred let me explain the other meaning of the fist bump.;)
On it's own, when one person makes that motion, it's an crude street signal meaning "procreation".
The FB is some kind of 'cool' greeting that you see on street corners and places where there is no formality.
I had to laugh when I saw the furor over the cover of the New Yorker.
You started the fist bump and the other problems for yourself, Yuk it up! The O's are looking for that little bit of cool that will endear them to everyman and everywoman.
When it shows up as "satire", the O's choke back any comments, instead leaving it to the handlers to be indignant. When you open up a door, always make sure you can get it closed, lest someone see where you hang out.
LOL, didn't people get upset when Mohammed was portrayed as a cartoon.
I think we have another uprising because a 'god' was depicted as a pen and ink caricature.....
------------
In another thread, its funny when you try to get a sewage plant named after a politician. But, when you hold the carnival mirror to another politico, their spleen bleeds and the leeches stuck to their shins start to complain.
It's racist, UnAmerican, hateful! It's the same freedom of speech we all freely love and flaunt-but you can't laugh about either idiot who wants to be prez.....
Get over your bad selves. 50 percent of the county will hate the person you vote for in November. I don't take it personally, but someone else will.;)
To your first comment Richard - - - :o:eek::o:eek: :D
And to the second - Ain't that the truth! http://bestsmileys.com/clapping/2.gif
Um, we have another person who wants to be prez.... Bob Barr deserted the Rep party and has been popping up hither and yon running as the Liberitarian canidate. You remember them, they are the Ross Perot people.
I'm so fed up with both parties he's starting to look better all the time.
Silly me!!! I thought the fist bump was just something replacing the high five.
You know opening the entire hand is soooooo exhausting and all!!! ;):D
Ross Perot did not run on the Libertarian Party - in 1992 the Presidential candidate for the Libertarians was Andre Marrou.
Libertarians believe the answer to America's political problems is the same commitment to freedom that earned America its greatness: a free-market economy and the abundance and prosperity it brings; a dedication to civil liberties and personal freedom that marks this country above all others; and a foreign policy of non-intervention, peace, and free trade as prescribed by America's founders.
It is the third largest political party in the United States.
My husband is a Libertarian. After watching Bob Barr on one of the Sunday talk shows, he doesn't look too bad to me. Certainly no worse than either of the other candidates.
Sorry the info I heard was wrong then. They said that Ross Perot was the first to run on the Libertarian Party ticket.
I just did a search and he ran on Reform Party, not Libertarian.
All I know for sure, is after he ran, we can no longer be Independents here in KS.
When I had to re-register after I moved, I could no longer be an Independent. This was in 2006. Now I am Unafiliated! :)
(i still consider myself as an independent no matter what my voter registeration card says)
By the way, who is this T. Boone person I keep seeing ads from?
I would be furious if I couldn't register as an Independent. Bet the ACLU could help with that.
T. Boone Pickens - Here You Go -
With Richard, I never know what to believe!!!! ;):D
Been watching the news again. I really need to stop that. It's so bad for my blood pressure. I can't understand why it's so hard for congress to grasp the fact that we need to drill for oil here and we need to look for alternative sources too. Ok, so if it takes 5 years or more to get the oil we'd better get off our behinds and start NOW!!! What would we do if our forgeign oil suppliers decide to cut the supply off for some reason? :(
Come out and spend a week in da hood, ya know what I'm saying?
Any of you homies want to come out to the East Side and roll with the Rickster?
LOL, that sounded really stupid!
Seriously, I worked with a guy that had quite a few sales reps in to our office.
If a good looking woman came in he'd look over at me and do the 'fist pump' as a little sign of "female appreciation"!
When loading the gun in a tank, the loaders take the round, place it in the breech and use their fists to ram/seat it before the breech is closed.
"Ramming it home".
----------
There are some things that should remain mysteries to all of you upstanding, taxpaying citizens. And they are not suitable for print here.
----------
If anyone noticed the price of oil went down a few cents after the hated GWB announced that he'd lift the ban on drilling in the Gulf.
But good old NP will do her best to keep us all down. MORON.
Interesting but totally wrong.
The stock market DID take a huge plunge -- closing at its lowest in two years -- and it was even lower earlier -- plunging afer GWB's pep talk on the economy this morning.
Here's the reason for the drop in oil prices (and it was dollars -- not a few cents...:rolleyes:)
Just about as accurate as your explanation of the fist bump....:rolleyes:Quote:
But crude oil abruptly fell under $138 a barrel on worries that a slowing U.S. economy would sharply curtail demand for gasoline. A similar concern was raised in a new forecast from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.
I see you are signing your post with a new name!
Because I know that no one on PT is "hood" or has street cred let me explain the other meaning of the fist bump.
On it's own, when one person makes that motion, it's an crude street signal meaning "procreation".
The FB is some kind of 'cool' greeting that you see on street corners and places where there is no formality.
I then went on to explain the 'Loading the cannon/howitzer/gun' motion, one half of the FB and how that can be construed as a crude reference to sex.
For the years that I have been a Mexican I have never seen anyone in my hood do the bump. Maybe the "one potato, two potato" vertical fist slam, but not the "head on" bump.
THis and the stupid gang sign schtik I know. I can do Black and Mexican.
Russian and Vietnamese gangs are more problematic.
I don't know their alphabets.
I can read graffti too!:)
-------------
I took a sex ed class with my then GF. It wasn't a toy party or some stupid private teaching seminar.
I got some real college credits for it. It was one of the best classes that I ever took, not so much for the material, but for the way it was presented. The worst part of the class were the just out-of-high-school retards that thought everything was funny. They laughed at the trannys that came in, the gynecologist that passed out IUDs, diagphrams and condoms, the S&M gal-she was a hot redhead with blue eyes-I didn't laugh at her, she'd kick my arse....;)
I learned enough and probably more than I wanted to. If you go back in history and know the 'power' behind the hand, why the handshake came about, the symbolic meaning of a fist,
what it "means" in sex ed class you'll slap your head.
I guess that means the man is this photo is a homie who wants to have sex?
http://pinkdome.com/archives/bushkour.jpg
And I thought I was juvenile.
The handshake supposedly started in medievel times.
Knights extended their right hands to show that the were unarmed. The custom grew to the shake.
The "fist shake" was a signal to an opponent out of range that meant you were going to open the whoop arse on them.
Everyone know the "pluck yew" story about the middle finger.
Street gangs use more of a finger signing to denote gang affliation.
I also know some good vulgar sign language too.
----------
Just as I thought. It's the white upper class, tennis playin' gangstas that are effing up the country.
Morons.
--------------------
And just for the record, Did I mention or suggest that BO was a terrorist?
I merely stated that he did the fist bump and was criticized for it.
I'd love to see the post where I said that.
ES, you can't play.
You are so far left you circle the planet.
How can you believe you know about the personal lives of all PT people?
We may all live in "hoods" & do our own knuckle bumps all the time.
I think you are confusing the one person motion with a Italian hand
& fist gesture that displays contempt, among other things.

NFL hiring experts to spot gang signals
by FOXSports.com Updated: July 16, 2008, 2:51 PM EST
Concerned that some of its players are flashing signals related to street gangs, the National Football League has hired experts to examine game tapes and identify the hand gestures, a newspaper reported Wednesday.
"There have been some suspected things we've seen," NFL vice president of security Milt Ahlerich told the Los Angeles Times. "When we see it, we quietly jump on it immediately, directly with the team and the player or employee involved to cease and desist. Period."
Ahlerich says the NFL has long warned its players about the influence of gangs. Concern intensified after Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was gunned down following an altercation involving known gang members in 2007.
The concern was raised with first-year players at the recent rookie symposium, and a video on the dangers of gangs was shown to every player in the league last year.
"Guys come from all over the country, and who knows what they're really doing?" Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Dennis Northcutt told the paper.
---------------------
Another reason I hate tennis.:o
It's another showcase for hand gestures people don't understand.
-------
The NFL can fix the problem by arresting the Oakland Raiiders.
Since no one claimed the prize we are going to roll over the amount and this week's amount is 27 cents.
-----------------------------
Here's a new definition-
Re-define- A really nice word because flip-flop means you lie to the public.
-----------------
The NFL also banned the use of bandanas by players/playas because of the meaning behind them. Colors and the way they were worn were also signs of gang affliation.
The funniest part of the 'furor' behind the 'hand signs' is that the sports morons/writers were trying to figure out what constitutes a gang sign.
Try sideline and post-TD celebrations?
I had to laugh when a sports show panel member tried to explain it away as guys just being stupid and kids asking their parents, when they see it happend during a game, "What does that mean?"
The kids know more than the parents do.
-------------
I loved the BO assertion that his wife shouldn't be considered part of the media blitz behind his run for office.
You can leave her home or tell her not to speak at any kind of public function.
You can't stuff the genie back into the bottle.
And what does "judgement to lead" mean?
Is that the 'slogan of the month'? Or a push for votes in Europe and the Middle East?;)
How typical of the ultra-right! Never admit you are wrong. Isn't that what "right" means?????
:D:D
Some people think (gasp!) and listen to other opinions and (gasp again!) change their position or ideas. Some people learn things and grow and change.
Others never allow a new thought or new information to cause them to "flip-flop."
BTW...will the NFL be hiring you to share your vast knowledge of the meaning of hand gestures?:rolleyes::D
This is kinda off the subject....
Does anyone know if channelling Arianna Huffington leave any lasting effects?
Why don't you try it and let us know . . . . .
