I like "Pet Planet".
I dont think we should change the name..we were Pettalkers, we are and we will be ;)
THANK YOU that's what I've been trying to say. There is NO SENSE in changing the name. It will only further confuse everyone.Quote:

Karen that's not what I'm talking about, but.. eh, ok.
I just don't understand. We have been Pet Talk, Pet Talkers, referred to as PT for so many years now. Everyone in my immediate family, good friends, etc. know what I'm talking about when I say Pet Talk or PT.
It isn't hard to tell someone petoftheday.com/talk, or to go to petoftheday.com and click on the Pet Talk icon on the left.
We're Pet Talkers, We've been Pet Talk for years.... I don't see a reasonable need for change.
-sigh- I guess there's really nothing we can do however as it seems you are pretty set on changing the name. I've grown up with "Pet Talk." I guess the PET TALK calendars will be incorrect now.
Kay, if Pet Talk changes it's name, just think how much more special those calenders will be! ;)Quote:

I don't guess I see why it's a big deal either way. We all know who we are, regardless of the name of the domain that gets you here. I'm not either for or against the change, basically I'm indifferent. I don't see how it will hurt, that's for sure. It'll be interesting to vote if a poll is posted, though! :)
:D
Can't we just hack into their site and take over???
Richard good to see you. I hadn't seen you since the "move". I was afraid you got lost in the shuffle! :DQuote:

Ever heard of "Brand LOYALTY"?
There's a lot of examples in the Retail & Business Trades, not to mention Magazines,
where a "name change" had very negative results.
"Wanting" a unique dot.com name might be OK IF you were just starting out ...
This is (or was) a very well established site with a huge following ...
One or two "lost souls" a week who can't find their way back isn't all that bad -
out of 8 Thousand visitors / Members!
I've NEVER had a problem getting New Folks directed to the site.
Is there a valid reason why "PetTalkers.com" isn't a viable choice?
PetTalkers.com seems like one of the most logical,
and potentially LEAST-upsetting to the Loyal Members, name change choices ...
And it seems to be falling on deaf ears. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif

Gee, folks, nothing has been ruled in or out yet, okay? We just did the upgrade, give us a few days to recover from that before any more big changes happen. We're not gonna just arbitrarily change it to Styfwsutfashdf.com or anything, I promise.
I agree, let's not ambush anyone. Just because the site name changes, doesn't mean we aren't Pettalkers, or PT'ers. We love to talk about pets right? What does a name change really matter, we could be the bickering Pet Lovers for all I care, just as long as we all stay the same;)

Could we have a poll seeing how many people want a name change?
We intend to have a poll with several choices for which people can vote.
