is a blue heeler and ACD the same??Im guessing so :)
~Kay~
Yes, they have many names...Queensland Heeler, Blue Heeler, Red Heler, Blueys, ect...but they were officially named Australian Cattle Dog by the AKC in the 80's I believe. They were originally bred in the mid 1800's by Australian cattle ranchers because they needed a breed that was strong, had stamina, could withstand heat and was territorial. They ended up crossing a dingo and an Aussie shepherd after tried and fails.Quote:

I like
Pomerainians
Scottish and Airedale terriers
Golden Retrievers
Puggies
I also think Afgan hounds are cool (they remind me of Gandolf's hair from Lord Of The Rings lol)
Lassie dogs (like Mickey)
Dachunds
Labradors
and of course Yorkiez!
well, I have 3 breeds that I love, and have owned. First is the Poodle, then the G.S.D. then the Blue Heeler . All 3 have utmost intelligence, loyalty and ability to be easily trained.
I agree....Quote:

You know, unless someone is a faithfull dog lover, and spend alot of time with them, I don't think they can be fully apreciated. People who don't know dogs don't give credit where it's due. They are very intelligent, sensitive, loving creatures. I always say they are "people in fur coats!"
Of course, that goes with any animal!

yes, I agree, and training them is so much fun - work, but fun. After a couple of years, you have this wonderful companion, whom you have trained and they are like your left arm.......a part of you. They know when you get dressed, and what you are wearing as to if you are going out, or staying home. They know when you wake up in a bad mood as to when to , and how far they can tease you. They also know and sense a welcome stranger, and a not so welcome one.........we are animals, so are they...............only we lost our senses, they didn't.
I don't have favorites, I like all of them, but here are a few.
great danes
mastiffs
chiahuahuas
dobermans
pit bulls
rotties
huskys
akitas
mini schnauzers!
