I think the smaller one is probably better for the site, Sue, but frankly, I like the larger one so we can see those beautiful dogs a little better!!

I think you're right, Logan, after all the main thought is Save a Life, with a little bonus of showing off my dogs (even if you need a magnifying glass to see them!)LOL
(Thanks, Aly)

We should rename this "Aly's Tutorial Page!" Well, I tried uploading my banner and little pic. They are filed in a picture folder on my computer. I selected that folder while in the Add Photo mode. When I opened the folder, the banner etc. were not shown to be there! After a lot of attempts at moving the files around into other folders, etc., I noticed that all the images that I was unable to upload to Webshots were gif! All the images jpg were available. HUH?? I can attach them to email. Just can't move them into Webshots! Any suggestions? Thanks!
There's 2 things you can do:
1. When you click Add Photo then Browse on webshots and the screen comes up to choose your photo, check below the file name box and select the All Files option in the drop down menu. Then all your files should show up so you can select one.
2. Open the gif in an image viewing program and do Save as. Choose jpg from the drop down menu where it says 'Save as type'.
Hopefully one of those ways will work for you.
Thanks Aly. I'm entering the punch drunk stage and staggering around the room! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif Will try!

Still can't upload the pic to Webshots no matter what I do. Could to photopoint! The pasted address didn't work till I added .jpg after pasting it here! But, I did it!
Aly, I downloaded the Irfanview program and it is AWESOME . In virtually minutes I did what it would have taken me hours to do using PhotoPoint's editing tools. And it beats my PhotoDeluxe software, hands down. You can even look at all the pictures on your hard drive in a slide show. I'm sure there is a lot of other stuff I haven't even figured out how to do yet. It is easy to use too. Thanks for telling us about this. Anybody who who has digital pictures stored in a folder in their computer, should really download this software.Quote:

I agree Rachel. That program is great, especially since its free! That's why I tell people about it a lot. Very easy to use too.
Oh and I'm sooo happy. I just won an auction on ebay for a digital cam! YAY! I'm gonna throw the scanner out the window!
Thats weird. The pic uploaded to webshots fine for me.. Hmm, let me think on that one.

Could you make me a little box thing like you made for Sudilar? I want one!!!
Sure, what do you want yours to say?
Hi aly!
Can you help me, oh Banner Guru?
I recently downloaded the Selteco banner software, and I was able to MAKE a banner, but I'm having trouble putting the HTML code in correctly into my website. That is, I copied and pasted the HTML code for the banner, but it still won't show on my website. Here's what I copied:
<IMG SRC="SaimaMiko.gif" WIDTH=468 HEIGHT=60 BORDER=0 ALT="">
Now, I guess here's where I run into trouble: Selteco warns that "*Before you publish your page you need to adjust SRC= attribute to correct path of the gif file."
I can't figure out what the correct path is. Right now banner is saved at:
C:\My Documents\My Pictures\SaimaMiko.htm
How to I insert the path "correctly" after SRC? I am HTML-ignorant, obviously!
Does all that make sense? Can you help me?

Never mind, aly!!! I was able to figure it out with my little pea-brain! I simply needed to change the ".htm" to ".gif" at the end of "C:\My Documents\My Pictures\SaimaMiko"
YAY! In case you or anyone is curious, the banner is on the bottom of my "Cool Links" page on my cats' website (yes cats. Sorry, no dogs on there!): http://margabr.homestead.com

http://wsphotofews.excite.com/025/8L/KU/Dn/rG60915.jpg Well, there is a notice up at my site in Webshots that says they are having difficulty adding photos. But, I changed the "type" from gif to bitmap on my computer, and it uploaded fine. Let see!
