This evening will be the last time for at least a couple of days that I will be posting.
I will have surgery tomorrow to repair an arthritic joint in my primary hand. I will have a cast for two weeks, then a brace for several more. The total recovery time (being able to fully use my hand) will be about 12 weeks, but the surgeon said that I can go back to work after the cast comes off, just in a very limited capacity (no wrestling wild cats and dogs:D)
Please send some positive thoughts this way, also to the surgeon so he doesn't mess up.;)
I spent the weekend putting up Christmas decorations, stocking up on cat litter and preparing the cats' medicines. My boyfriend is scared to death that he will mess up (with the cats), but I assured him that it'll be fine, and I will do as much as possible myself.
Sending prayers and positive thoughts to Heidi!
Sending positive thoughts and speedy recovery Heidi. Take care.
Heidi, I hope the surgery will go well... sending lots of good wishes and a speedy recovery.
We will miss you here, but follow doctor's orders and take your time to heal! I'm sure your boyfriend will take good care of the cats, but in any case, write down what medicine they get and when. :)
Take care!
Thank you for all the well wishes. Everything went well.
Typing one-handed and very slowly. A day without my Pettalk friends is not a good day, so I will try to post a little every day.;)
So happy to hear all went well, Heidi! Wishing you a very speedy recovery!!!:love::love:
Take care and feel better!
Dear Heidi, I somehow missed your message about being scheduled for the surgery! Now that it's done, the cats and I are so glad it went well! We're all wishing you a speedy and comfortable recovery.

I'm happy your surgery went well, Heidi. Now wishing you a speedy recovery!
So glad your surgery went well. :) Although we miss you here, take it easy and let your hand heal completely.
Prayers please for my choir director's kitten Tika! She's between 1 1/2 and 2, and was adopted with her momma last year. Yesterday Tika decided balancing on the railing for the stairway on the second floor was a fun thing to do ... and despite being taken down and scolded several times, she tried again today. She slipped and fell two stories, and shattered her front shoulder on landing. After much examination, they decided it would be best to amputate the leg, as the break9s) were too far up. So she is now a little tri-pawed kitty, and her humans are very sad and worried about her, and keeping her would covered (she's peeled off the onesie they had her in), while she heals.
Purryers on the way to Tika.
Prayers from us for Tika, that she will heal well and her people will be comforted and reassured.
:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
Healing thoughts and headbumpies from my kitties to you, dear Tika.:love::love:
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Oh, poor Tika. :( It's sad that she had to have her leg amputated, but being young, she will hopefully heal up soon.
Sending healing thoughts and love to Tika and her family.
Sending loving wishes and huge hopes that the poor kitty will recover and live a very long and happy life. Please hang on, there's so much hope!
So sorry to hear that, Karen! That's quite a fall.:(:(:( Poor Tika, poor parents!!! But Tika should do fine. 3 legged kitties and doggies do so amazingly well despite the loss of a limb, much better than we humans fare. My Tigg'r lost his leg after being shot by a neighbor. First day home, despite strict orders to keep him confined, he jumped straight up from the floor to the top of the dining room table the minute we unzipped his carrier, never missing a beat!
Hoping for a swift and complete recovery for dear Tika!:love::love:
From her human:

Tika is doing well and purring all the time. She's happy to be home!
Thanks again!
Yilin
Yeah for Tika.
Way to go, Tika!
I'm overjoyed to hear that! Hurray Tika!
So good to hear! Tika and parents, stay strong!
My best friend has been battling brain cancer for many years. She's been out of remission and actively receiving chemo and radiation since Sept 2015. (I think ... it's all becoming a blur)
She went in for her 'routine' MRI this past week and her mother said the report was devastating and she has surgery at Duke (in NC) on Monday.
My friend has not been talking very much because of the effects of the chemo and radiation - it's caused apraxia (which makes it difficult for her to communicate). But even with all she's been going through, just last week I received two very thoughtful gifts from her. She's always thinking of other people... bless her heart.
Please, if you could... say a prayer for her. Her name is Nanette. She needs a miracle.
Prayers for your dear friend Nanette..:love::love::love::love::love::love:
Dear Nanette, I'm very sorry for what you are going through. I'm hoping for that much needed miracle. Healing thoughts and best wishes!:love::love:
Prayers for a miracle for Nanette.
Prayers on the way for Nanette.
Prayers for Nanette!
Sending out my best thoughts and prayers!!
Prayers on the way to Nanette.
Thanks, y'all. I certainly appreciate it.
It's been a rough year for my friends. Another friend has been in the hospital since Christmas, and had part of her foot amputated... then they ran more tests and their fears were confirmed: they had to amputate more. So they went back in and amputated just below her knee. She is probably going home this week, with a walker and a wheelchair. Her name is Lori.
Prayers for Lori, too.

Prayers everyone for Jen Luckenbach. Her beloved husband Charlie, cat dad to so many, and husband of over 30 years had a stroke and other complications and will not recover. It has been a very difficult week full of ups and downs for her, but while he is not able to speak, he does recognize her and asked for a hug today before falling back to sleep. They will be moving him to Hospice care, if anyone is in the Allentown, PA area, she said he would appreciate visits now, while hie is still alive to receive them. I can get you the info if necessary.
How horribly sad for Charlie, and for Jen. I am too far to visit but send love and prayers their way.
