Oh, Richard, welcome to what the rest of the country lives with - you sure got spoiled living in California! ;)

Right now it's 5 degrees not counting the wind chill. When my son left for work this morning it was -4. Now they're saying more snow is on the way but no word on how much. I'm loving this weather and get outside as much as possible. I thought it might be fun to record or tape these weather reports of sub-zero temperatures then play them back during the inevitable summer heat waves.
29 and snowing. It will get colder
Already -5* at 9:30pm.
It's a good day. 21F, not too windy and bright sunshine. i'd have gone to the car wash but it is supposed to snow tomorrow and Wednesday. I'd take more days like this.
How are you Canadian folks making out with all this?
It's been miserable around here (southeast Michigan) as far as I'm concerned, but you guys are SO much farther north. How are you doing? (Or is this just, ho hum, another cold snowy winter, and you Yanks are SUCH wimps!)
:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
This has been the coldest winter for most of Canada in some time. Locally we had bad wind chills in November - last year just a couple of days in December. The wind chills lately are lasting at least a week.
This morning in Cochrane, AB is was -33 C at 8 am; the wind chill made it -43C. That's -27.4 F and -45.4 respectively.
At 9:30 am it warmed up to a balmy -30 C with the chill of -40 C. That's - 22F and - 40F. (Numbers are the same at - 40).
But it's nice and sunny out! :D
4*F right now. Don't think anything of this cold anymore.
-11 degrees F here this morning till noon. Barrow, Alaska had 18 degrees F yesterday. Another cold spell but the sun is out that counts big time. :)
I think 10 minutes or less. A friend and I bundled up and were going to do our 'walking group' outdoors. However, the zipper on my long coat separated up to my chest - not good. Plus, any exposed skin on my face was hurting after about 3 - 5 seconds exposure.
We went for coffee instead! :D
At the start of the Olympics, there was a feature on Siberia on TV. They said the temps got down to 50 below. I thought of you, Candace, and your walking group.
Coffee sounds like a much better idea!
-25 this morning it is clear & the sun will be up soon to warm things up.
It amazes me that the temp actually drops as low as -40c and less, and people go out and about and do stuff lol. Cold for us is -2c :p.
The crazy hot summer is really upsetting me :(. The sooner autumn and winter are here the better, then happy me returns.
Jumping from the snow thread back to the cold thread, yet again!
7°F feels like -3° and heading downward for the night.:(
-1°F feels like -10° :(
-7*F on my way out to work now.
Good Morning, everyone :)
It's 14 BELOW at our house right now :D
10 below zero.
So what was I just doing? Changing a battery in the truck.
-19c right now-- it was -28c last night. Snow is starting up again.
Stay warm and safe! ;) Snow is supposed to start here tomorrow, apparently I should start panicking now ... unless we get rain, they keep moving the now/ice/rain line in breathless anticipation!
Right now it is 12F and snowing. Next week it is supposed to be in the 40's.
I feel so bad for all the states that are being hit so hard with these terrible storms. Over here in California we are having the exact opposite problem. We are in a drought! We are doing rain dances and just wishing and hoping it will rain some more. And cold?? What's that? Besides the beginning of December when it dipped down in the 20s we have not really had a winter here at all.
When the west coast heard Phil saw his shadow we were happy, but we could just hear the rest of the country groaning.
It just amazes me how different the weather can be from one state to another.
I do hope all of my Pet Talk families stay safe and warm for the next round of storms coming. We are supposed to get another "storm" here this weekend. We'll see if it rains for more than a few hours.
-8*F as I head out to work this morning. Oh joy!
On the upside, warmers temps starting today! ;)
-38C last night but today was such a sunny day that our high was -12C so that was a real treat. Gone back down to -26C right now, hope it's as far as it goes.
I am so anxious for Spring, seems it will never get here with all the storms.
It's 41F today! And sunny! Finally a bit of a break from the cycles of cold and snow :)
It's supposed to rain tomorrow and then get cold again over the weekend into next week (20s F). But it's been nice to go out without multiple layers, hood, gloves and scarf for a change.
13°F feels like -1° Two degrees tonight, so they say. I bet it will be colder.:(
It's snowing too but will wait until Sunday and Monday, when it dumps on us, to post in the snow thread.;)
It's 30 degrees here with snow flurries on and off. Yesterday we got about an inch of new snow with another winter storm due in Sunday afternoon into Monday. According to the weather reports, there are 2 systems heading our way - one coming in from the west and another coming up the coast. Bring it on!
Not sure of the temp - in the low 30's somewhere. We had a little more snow yesterday after it all being melted with the few Spring-like days over the weekend. Still mountains of snow in the parking lots where it had been plowed tho. Supposed to be back to nasty cold tomorrow, and another snow storm the first of next week. I'm a snow lover, but even I am getting tired of it this year. Sure beasts the oppressive heat and humidity of the summer, anytime! I'd like to order up just a happy medium between the two. :)
Today was -25C and tonight we're supposed to hit -34C or lower-- that cold snap is back. A little much for most of us. It just saps the energy right out of everyone.
Heat and humidity does me right in even if I stay indoors with the a/c but I think I prefer that.
In between would be fantastic.
We still have tons of snow, today was blowing all day, visibility was nil, just hate driving in those conditions.
-9°F Well, no wind chill this morning, so nice and warm as I head out to work!
+ 10.5 C- we have the warmest winter in over 30 years. All the snowbells, crocus and primulas are out. We all hope there will not be any more snow in March- it is not unusual here.
It's a whopping 12 degrees here and going up to a heat wave of 21. We are definitely in the freezer today.
It was 9 when I left for my classes this morning. I think I was really supposed to be born a southerner. I like the snow but I just hate the cold. :p
-16F in Ann Arbor this morning. That was the actual temperature, not the wind chill.
3 F when I left for work; it's not much warmer in the building but it's getting a little better.
