Well that pretty much sums it up for me! Even though a little boring in the beginning, it was an awesome race!
One more day till Eldora and rain again:rolleyes: But it says only till noon...let's hope so!

The rain delay worked out nice for me...I had 2 softball games and missed the first 1/2 of the race. Came home, turned it on while I did dishes, folded laundry, started dinner. By the time I was ready to really sit down and watch, there was about 30 or 40 laps to go.
Everything is saying the rain moves in tomorrow evening and out by noon. Sure hoping that is the case!!!

THAT SONG will change when he starts inviting people over to watch the race.....
"HONEY GET EVERYONE A BEER, QUICK!";):(

Why does Kurt Busch walk that way?

Race Car Jesus?
Would it be too much to ask that you not allow any movie stars to get the race started?
I think I prefer Stanley Koopastratus, from Penfield Spring Hills, Indiana and winner of the Stanley What-Can-I-Build-Today Sweepstakes to scream "Gentleman, start your engines!"
There for a minute I thought I'd jinxed Denny, but nope...he won...again:D
Mark couldn't have been more happy! Too bad we didn't go with Amy to Michigan:p
anyone else watch the Nationwide race? I don't always like road courses but man there was some good racin' today. Not bad for the first NASCAR race at Road America :D
Kyle and Joey rocked it! I hope they do the same today:D
Another tough one for Danica.
Kyle, go to sleep.
Can I say I hate the big one? I do, I really do. Not only did it knock out 1/2 of the field, but in that half of the field we lost almost every one of our guys (JGR & SHR).
Ugh, not only that but Harvick won and Jr came in 4th.
For once I can say I was glad I wasn't at that race!
One bright spot...Kasey Kahne came in 2nd:D
And wow, did you see 8th-14th (Sorenson, Bliss, Speed, Reutiman, Gordon & Park)? That's some names you don't see up front!
Now on to Chicago. I'm gonna be watching that one in person and hopefully our guys do much better and JJ doesn't win:p
Amen to that!!! If JJ wins, I don't know if I am going to any more races with Mark ;) At least we know he won't win Friday night!
By the end I was hoping Steve Park would win. What a come back story that woulda been...first time in a Cup race in 7 years.
I do have to give huge Kudos to the 14 crew. That car was on fire, and they got it back on the track and picked up 7 positions by doing that. Those 20 points maybe be huge by the time Richmond rolls around.
after seeing Shrub win last night I was just about to give up on NASCAR ever being entertaining again....and then Rooti comes through tonight and restores my faith.
Thank you Stock Car Jesus:love:

JPM,
Go grab a taco.:rolleyes::eek:;)
I'm going to Gateway! A friend of mine works with KHI and got me passes for the whole weekend for my birthday. Not sure how much I'll be able to see from the infield though?
Very cool!! I don't know how Gateway is set up, but generally the view is more limited from the infield...but it is really cool to be down near the pits during the race to see sorta a behind the scenes of what is going on!
If you get a chance to stop to eat, before you get into the St. Louis area, right off I-55, there is a little town called Festus. There is a good restaraunt there called Tanglefoot Steakhouse. Great Beer and wine selections, Great desserts, great burgers.
After a small incident at Chicagoland (our NASCAR bags were stolen), our trip turned out to be pretty good.
Kyle won Friday night, Jimmie wrecked Saturday (Mark said it was worth our bags getting stolen:p:D) and then Reutiman won...pretty good weekend all in all!
Good grief I wish they'd call this dang race already. I've
been sweaty and miserable all day, and now it's been delayed for like 2 hours cuz a whole bunch of the lights are out. I only have infield passes and you have to wear long pants. On the bright side I've got a ton of
pictures .
That was a race....:eek::o:eek:
If Carl doesn't get some kind of hand slap over his win then there is no justice in Nascar. This was not a good win, and no matter what spin Carl puts on his justification, this was dirty pool. I used to have some respect for him but it seems he will do "whatever" to get a win.
What a race that was! Sorry, but I think Brad got exactly what he deserved and Carl raced him just like he was raced. I was sorry to see that he got hit so hard and glad he's ok. I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt.
Mark said Carl is almost his favorite driver:D;)
anna_66
The nudge that Brad gave Carl ,got him a little loose, was racing, but what Carl did to Brad was not a nudge. The result of that was nothing but a race ending crash. The type of racing done by Kurt Busch and Johnson a few weeks ago was an example of reciprocal nudge that won Johnson the race.Quote:

The difference, Johnson gave Busch the same nudge he received, without a
race ending crash. Carl has been guilty of this type of racing many times. THIS IS NOT RACING WHEN YOU TAKE OUT HALF THE FIELD>
I missed the whole thing:(. I was on pit road and saw Carl cross the finish line and had just turned around toward VL when everything else happened. Figures. I missed the Carl vs Brad showdown when Carl won in Memphis too 'cuz I was jostling for the best position for VL pics.
I have over 450 pics to dig through, I'm sure at least 100 are junk. I'll get the rest uploaded soon.
I have to side with Anna on this one. I think Carl raced Brad the way Brad races.
And all these drivers who say he went too far, come on. I had to laugh at Kevin Harvick. Thursday on Nascar now on ESPN he was going on and on about how it was low-down dirty move. And at the same time they were showing video of him putting the same move on Joey Logano and wrecking him earlier this year. Ofcourse, then Joey came across his nose, He didn't do it on purpose
I didn't hear JPM say anything about it, but what about when he came out, laps down and wrecked Tony at Miami last year? What did Tony say? He knew had it coming!
Dale Sr. wrecked Terry Labonte, @ Bristol for the win. And many worship him for what he was to NASCAR.
Ryan Newman said it should be called ateemptted manslaughter. Really? I love ya Ryan, but you've wreck some ppl on purpose too.
Maybe Carl should have known better, since wrecking Brad before did something he never expected (put him in the air). This time it him in the of oncoming traffic. Honestly, if he hadn't been hit multiple times and spun, I don't know if the same big deal would have been made of it.
Never thought I would ever root for Kyle Busch to win. After Carl's comments on his justification for putting Brad into the wall I lost all my respect for him. He used to be one of my favorites. He is a hot head and will end up hurting or killing someone.
Thanks for having my back girls;)
I only seen the last 10 laps, but the last 3 was all I needed to see!
Have to say I think Carl let up so he wouldn't get into Kyle :p Poor Carl.
I can't imagine disliking one of my favorite drivers because of an accident that got out of hand. But that's just my opinion. To each his/her own.

Carl has been one of my favorite drivers for some time. The tap that he received got him a little lose then he recovered and moved back into the lead. Then Brad passed him in the last corner. When Carl realize he was going to come in second he let his anger decide to put Carl into the wall and a lot of good race cars with him. His comment " I couldn't let him take it from me" was the attitude that changed my opinion of Carl. I am not a fan of Brad but he did not recieve what he gave Carl. That would be like saying you slap me and I will shoot you.Quote:

All of your heros that did the same thing during their racing days are no better than Carl , Dirty racers. IMO that statement goes double for Dale Sr.
Didn't say any of them were my hero. I was never a Sr. fan. Cheered when he went in the wall at Daytona...until I found out the result. Never wished that on anyone. Not a fan of JPM, Harvick or Carl, either. But I think with Carl, Brad wrecked him 3 times before he ever hit him back (Talledega '09, Memphis, '09, Atlanta '10). Sorry, but I can't blame him, when Brad hits him, for hitting harder.
Good race today. Weird start, but one of the best at Indy in some time. Congrats to Jamie and Gnassi. Pretty impressive year to win Dayton, Indy 500 and the Brickyard.
Crazy start to the race for sure, just glad to see Harvick or Jimmie didn't win. Lol, Mark said we should have been there this year instead of last:p
Too bad for JPM, but he did it to himself this year. It was a real break for Jamie! Hey, he didn't cry this time either;)
Great year for Chip that's for sure!
Good race. Loved that Tony finished in the top 5, Kyle & Joey in the top 10 and at least Denny got into the top 15 and Ryan in the top 20. Could have been worse I guess.
LOLOL, I didn't see the last laps of the race...
Oh, whoa, whoa, Jamie's cryin'

Roush suffers minor injuries in crash
NASCAR team owner Jack Roush suffered minor cuts on his head in a plane crash Tuesday evening at Whitman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wis.
Roush was flying his private jet, a Beechcraft Premier 1A from Detroit. The jet made hard contact on landing and cracked the fuselage.
Brenda Strickland, a friend of Roush's, also was on board the plane. NASCAR journalist Bob Margolis, who is writing a book about Roush's life, was told that Roush and Strickland were not seriously hurt.
"Jack got out and had blood some blood on his face," Margolis said. "Apparently he bumped his head. They both were taken to a local hospital for observation, but I've been told they are OK."
Roush, an aviation buff, was expected to attend the Experimental Aircraft Association's annual AirVenture in Oshkosh, this week.
Roush, an experienced pilot, suffered serious injuries in a plane crash near Talladega, Ala., in 2002. He was flying his P-51 aircraft when it crashed into a lake. Roush was unconscious and would have drowned, but he was pulled from the water by Larry Hicks, a retired marine who lived nearby and saw the crash.
Roush was in Oshkosh for EAA AirVenture, an annual air show.
