Oh come on!! you have been doing it to us, since the first time someone said something you didnt like!! Enough already!! Just be gratefull that the appointment has been set, and go from there! Now is the easy part! just work on getting your mom to take her to the vets for her appointment! All you have to do is, tell the vet that you are working with whatever money is in the fund, and they will tell you what they can and cant do for gizzy, as far as her vax goes. Simple!Quote:

P.S. This is for Roxyluvesme13 only.
I don't know. If Gizzie goes out the door I go with her. As with any of the other animals. And I've told my mom this.Quote:

What about placing your animals in a temporary foster home, till you and mom get back on your feet?? some day you just have to wake up and realize, that you cannot get them everything they need. and they will be better off, till you are more financially stable.
I'm trying to be grateful and control my anger at the same time. I'm tired of dealing with my mom's wraths of doom.Quote:

I would rather shoot myself. I don't trust people. I don't care how much care and delicacy would be put into finding a foster home, but I don't trust people. I think they're doing just peachy right now except for their vet care. But other than that, they're all healthy, happy, and certainly well fed.
what have you done??? you havent made any calls!! The only thing I saw you do, was get your mom to take you to get some paperwork for another place. and of course I ahve seen you whine alot!Quote:

No. No matter how well I know some online PT'ers, there are about two I would trust fully and without any doubt.
Gizzie sounds alot like Pumpkin and let me tell you getting Pumpkin fixed didn't calm her down very much.I am not saying that will happen with Gizzie but what if it does? Your mom doesn't even like Skye and form what I take she is calm.So what if Gizzie's behavior drives your mom to say that's it she goes?
As said, I'll go with her.Quote:

thats funny cause when someone metioned Emancipation, you said there was no way you could leave your mom, cause you are all she has.Quote:

I am all my mom has. And I wouldn't leave her. But if it came to rehoming Gizzie or staying with her, then I would go with Gizzie.Quote:

Again, everyone needs to remember they don't know the whole story and I have no intent on sharing it because it's personal.
If you cant go without your mom, you cant go with Gizzie, so stop posting that you will.
And why don't you just butt out of my life? You couldn't even afford a water bottle for your gerbil.Quote:

I don't understand you.You want people to help you and then you don't want anyone to help you. This whole thread is just nothing but fights.*sigh*That's not fair to say that to Reggie you have no right to say anything to him about his gerbil when you can't even get your pets sprayed and shots without the some wonderful people setting you up a fund.Right now you need to think what is right for your pets no matter how much you love them.It might be best to rehome Gizzie.I know it would be horriable.I had to rehome my baby birdie Emmy Lou.It still makes me sad to think about it.But I did what I had to do and I know that it was best to rehome her because of the move.I love her so much and miss her tons. But I know Kari is taking good care of her.
People I think everyone needs to chill out here. All this is ridiculous beyond words. Everyone seems to be losing sight of the real purpose...the pets. I can see where Bri is coming from wanting to know in advance that an appointment was being made on her behalf. With all honesty if someone did that for me without letting me know first then I would be upset too. Of course that is no offence to Gina I know she was being very helpful and I do commend her for her efforts. I also see how people got upset by Bri being upset cause this has been ongoing and back and forth for so long. But all this screaming and bashing and putting down is completely outrageous.
This thing with Bri and her mom and leaving if her mom tried to rehome her pets...why don't we think about this for a second. I simply think Bri is trying to let you all know how much her animals mean to her. They are her life. Please understand this. I know more about this situation than anyone else here. Bri would be lost without them. The stress on this 14 year old girl is overwhelming. Most adults would crack. But what Bri is trying to tell you all is she would rather leave than lose her pets but she knows that is not possible as she has no where else to go. She loves her mom despite all her flaws and all the things she has done. But her pets are her lifeline right now and what is keeping her sane so to speak.
You know I think everyone needs to step back and take a deep breath and calm down. And another thing before we post from now on please read and re-read your post first. Put yourself in the other persons shoes and ask yourself how you would feel hearing these things. Also if you are angry DO NOT POST walk away and calm down first then come back and calmly post what you have to say without bashing and considering the fact you don't know everything and that there is another persons feelings to consider.
I have found lately PT is like a volcano ready to errupt. I don't know what is wrong with everyone but this really has got to stop. All the fighting and arguments...the bad feelings and bad attitudes. What happened to this community? This used to be such a wonderful caring compassionate place. It is still a wonderful place with some amazing people but MY GOD it has changed. I hope everyone can take a step back and relax...calm down and consider others before blowing their stack or going off the deep end on them. It makes PT a very hostile place sometimes. Let's try to keep this the wonderful community is has always been.
Thanks
Michelle

I could not agree more. It is my understanding that as far as we know none of the animals are sick (although since they do not receive veterinary care, I guess we really cannot be sure of that). What they are trying to do is get together enough money for someone who has collected four animals without having enough income to do anything other than feed them, so that she can take them to the vet to be spayed. I believe this all started in an attempt to correct a behavioral problem which may well have developed from the stress in the household. Somewhere along the line this child has convinced some well meaning people that it is in the best interest of everyone to pay for everything she has been unable to do while continuing to adopt additional animals and ask for more (a bird). I think that about sums it up.Quote:

Ok, here's what I got from Linda today....
There is NO office visit charge for Vaccinations. They just give the vaccinations, nothing else, so don't expect to be able to ask questions and get answers unless you want to pay for an office visit.
2nd.. Depending on the doctor, they may want to have FIV/FeLV testing prior to the vaccinations. If the cat is in good health, they may just do the shots and not the testing. It is all dependent upon the doctor, so if Gizzie is exhibiting any signs that may seem like something, he may want to test her prior to any vaccinations.
You didn't say to ask about an INITIAL exam cost... the question was "Is there a fee for an office visit to just get shots." That's what I asked.Quote:

So if we just go in and get the shots then they won't charge for an office visit. Okay, gotcha.Quote:

And on the whole question thing, I meant what you asked. Because exams are usually like $20. So, it's all good.
Whew! I think Linda is getting tired of talking to me, as well as Marilyn. If anyone wants prices, Marilyn is option #6 on the phone. She's very nice. Linda, if she's not answering her phone, can be paged by the receptionist. She did that for me because I explained I was calling from out of state for information for a friend. They wound like a genuinely nice office. That whole southern accent just is just too much! I get off the phone and sound like I'm from the south!
LOL. So all I have to do is ask for Linda, right? Or is there an option for her on the phone?Quote:

Didn't hear any option at all for Linda. I pushed "0" (zero) for the operator which is for appointments, and said I wanted to speak to Linda in Pet Angel and she can page her if she doesn't answer. Marilyn gives the prices for things.Quote:

And W00T! I'll make you a voice clip with my regards :p
A few weeks back, I was told that Linda was in Accounting, and to press that option on the voice mail. But, there wasn't one. So I pressed Reception, and asked to be put thru to Linda.
They did seem really nice.
Jenn - you mentioned a local low-cost spay neuter to me earlier, right in town. Now that I am HOME (YAY!) with a REAL computer, I will check the link and make a VERY preliminary inquiry as to whether they can take donations and still charge low-cost. If so, a donated buck might go a little further.
This started with trying to find out if the Banfield Pet Hospitals at PetSmart would accept donations for their wellness plans, which are paid monthly and seem reasonable, at least on the surface. However, the vet at the Banfield in Bri's town also has his own practice - and the donation fund is there. Hence - a chance to contribute, but no discount for anyone! :)
So I will look the low-cost one up.
ETA: I found the link, and have downloaded it and the application form. I am waiting to send it to Bri to see what she thinks! And - I'm glad to see a few like-minded people who focus on the animals. :)
I agree with Michelle, well with what she posted on the last page.
However, Bri you may kill me for this, but to speed things up and help getting money, why don't you sell some of your pirate stuff? I know you love it more than anything (of course, not as much as your pets or family) but I think you could get a lot of money off of that and you can help with the fund quite a bit. I'm so sorry Bri, but that's what I'm thinking. I know its what I would do to get money if my animal needed to get spayed. But, since she isn't in a life or death situation, you can do it only as a last resort.
*blinks*
But anyways, Suki Wingy and I set up a cafe press shop, and we're going to use the money from that for my pets. So, when it's set up I'll post a link.
dogzr#1 has a good suggestion. :)
You have time and energy to set up a cafe press shop but can't find a phone to call to arrange vet time? What excuse will yet another "tomorrow" bring :( oh sigh, I'm so sorry to keep getting sucked in but it's so absurd it's almost addicting to this trauma/drama soap opera
