Nascar For Breakfast!
Anna and Mark should be at the race track now or at least pretty close. Let's do the sunshine dance for them!
I told her that since she had such a miserable experience on Sunday that just for today that I would wish for Tony to win just for her.
GO TONY!
Ohhh, that was hard. My stomach is feeling a bit sick now.
Careful Robin, Once you Go Tony! It is hard to do anything else!!!
Have fun Anna and Mark!! No rain in Toledo this morning...hope it is the same up north!
My MP3 battery is dead and so is our comptuer at home so I can't even recharge it! My desk radio doesn't have enough antenna to get the station the race is on, so I may have to take back my old one that another lab is using. At least I have Trackpass on the computer at work, but of course, no speakers!! I may time lunch for the last 20 laps or so....
Happy Race day! (FINALLY!)
NUTZ! :(
NO Race coverage on the Radio - talking heads are yappin away.
Race got off to a **shakey** start >>>
8:44 a.m. -- It's Tuesday and everyone is hoping to see some racing today. The good news is currently it is not raining at MIS, the bad news, the track is still really wet. It could take a while to get the track dry but here's hoping the green will fly at 10 a.m. as scheduled.
9:27 a.m. -- The green flag has been moved up from 10:13 a.m. ET to 10:08 a.m. ET. There will be a competition caution at Lap 25 to allow teams to make adjustments. Teams can not take fuel before the Lap 25 caution.
10:01 a.m. -- Army Sergeant Michelle Huerth delivers the command we've all been waiting for: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"
10:08 a.m. -- The cars are off pit road and making their pace laps.
10:09 a.m. -- The race will start under yellow to help dry the track and keep the speeds down.
10:10 a.m. -- Jeff Burton, Martin Truex Jr., Jamie McMurray and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will move to the rear of the field after making changes to their cars.
10:14 a.m. -- GREEN/YELLOW FLAG: The race is under way and under caution. Jeff Gordon will lead the first lap and earn the five bonus points
Lap 11 -- RED FLAG:  The cars are hitting pit road as the spotters and NASCAR officials can't see the whole track due to fog. Teams are not allowed to work on the cars and the drivers will remain behind the wheel.
10:40 a.m. -- Drivers are exiting from their cars and the delay looks like it is going to be a while.
10:53 a.m. -- The drivers are getting back in their cars and are getting ready to hit the track again.
Lap 11 -- YELLOW FLAG: The engines have been fired back up and the cars are back on the track. Competition caution has been moved to Lap 30.
Lap 12 -- The drivers have received the one to go.
Lap 13 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon brings the field to speed and the 3M Performance 400 is finally under way.
Lap 14 -- LEAD CHANGE: Greg Biffle had a great restart and passed Jeff Gordon for the lead.
Lap 40+ - - Green Flag ...
:D
I've got the ESPN streamed coverage up on my computer at Nascar.com. A very staticy radio braodcast in my ear and a watchful eye for bosses walking by....
Tony's up to the Top 10! Go Tony!
WHAT HAPPENED ???
To who? The results?
Kurt Busch won. Denny was 5th, Bobby 9th, Tony 10th and Jeff fell to 27th :D Thanks for punting him, Matty!!!

Couldn't tell on the computer if anyone really smacked...Biffle got loose and spun. Not sure if it was a tire or if he had help.
Just talked to my co-worker who was at the race. He said they barely cared if you even had a ticket and told them to sit where ever! Thanks for calling me and telling me to come up!!! Oh yeah, I didn't think that, he says!
maybe Anna and Mark were able to improve their seats! Looking forward to hearing how they enjoyed the race.
We made history
First ever racing after a rain delay on Tuesday.
Come hell or high water we were going to make it to the race.
After only 4 hrs of sleep we got up and headed to MI. Little did we know there would be flooding on I-75. We almost floated our way to the race
We enjoyed our seats and had a great view of the whole track, even with the fog we could see pretty good so we just stayed where we were.
Got some good pictures after the fog cleared. I'll post the link when I get them uploaded.
Too bad Denny or Tony didn't win, but we'll take what we can get.
It was an interesting weekend to say the least :o
Glad you guys enjoyed the race inspite of everything. Last night my dad commented he was glad we decided to only get tickets for the Busch race...I'm still not sure I agree :D
I like your change of location in your profile :)
Seems like I've been going and going and going...etc. and not slowed down since last week!
I've finally got the pictures upload (all 581!) and the videos (7) if anyone wants to take a gander. Needless to say I didn't have time to caption them, but I'm sure you'll get the jest;)

One of the things that is great about the Busch race...center seats, much cheaper then the Cup races, and when 23 of the guys are running it, why not? And a lot less traffic!
Bad night for Denny :( Tony's looking good so far...but I'm sure there will be a lot of beating and banging here at the end....
4th place finish, up to 2nd in points, and locked in the Chase, not a bad night for the #20!!
Go Tony!
Oh ... nice race, Carl! :p
But let's work on the FLIP, OK?
:D
The new configuration ROCKS!
I got in late on the Busch race and was amazed at the high line....
I hated short track racing....no passes and no 'racing'.
Dang, that was great!
The weather here is in the 100s, It's killer out here.
I was trying to wrangle up some people to go to the track today for the Busch race....everyone was busy or it was too hot...I kinda agree.....
But I did see the 42 hauler coming back from a job....It was
right off of the freeway!
---------------
It will be 106 with a chance of thunderstorms in Fontana today!
Guess I can't blame ya, but I'm still kicking myself for not going when I was out there 2 years ago. Given the chance again, I'd go alone!Quote:

It's just way too hot!
The Busch race doesn't start for another hour and it has to be starting to cool off...it's not too late...you can make it!!!Quote:

I'm shocked by that ;) I don't think anyone here is a JJ fan...or maybe they are just too embarrased to speak up?Quote:

Eury Jr is going with Dale Jr to Hendricks.
And at 11 o'clock today, what we find out the big announcement at JGR...will they be racing Toyota?
With all this hype and changing around now, what will there be to talk about in the off season?
Update: Looksl ike the Gibbs to Toyota is real. Can't hear what they are saying but by Googling names of the peaople I am watching speak, the VP of Toyota is there...
 dang,
There is way too much to worry about for next year....can't we finish this season yet?
The race that wouldn't end...13 cautions, hardly anyone left on the lead lap, and the top 4 in the Chase separated by 4 points! I love the fall!
Tony didn't run well all day, but stayed out of enough to finsih 9th.
How bout that "fight" between Kyle and Denny. Were you taking sides Mark?
Carl failed post race inspection...penalties coming?
How did it pass PRE-race inspection?
Sounds like a nit-pick.
From NASCAR: http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/head...ver/index.html
"Edwards hopes some post-race bumping from teammate Greg Biffle is the cause for the infraction.
"The worse case would be 25 points, the right-rear being low -- any engineer or crew chief in the garage will tell you that's the last thing you want," Edwards said. "You want the right-rear to be high.
"The only thing I can think of is at the end of the race, Greg came up and gave me a couple of love taps to say 'good job, good race' and hopefully they find that that bent the tail of the car down a little bit. There are some braces bent under the decklid so hopefully that's what it is."
I do think it is being a little picky, but the history has been set with Kurt Busch and Johny Sauter earlier this year, each docked 25 points and $25,000 for similar cases. Jeff Gordon also had one in the Duels at Daytona, non-points race. He wasn't fined, but didn't get the starting position he "won" by winning that race.
Did anyone notice that the race officials kept the Pit crew away from the car when Edwards finally stopped at the end? Check the tape! sd

I already saw #88 memorablila on sale.......
Sheesh, I am disappointed in how cut throat NASCAR has become..
Does that mean that Dale Jr. can set up a sting to get his number 8 back?
Yes I did, stupid move on Denny's part.Quote:

All is not lost!
Rain delay!!! :(
I hope they will be able to get the race in but we are in for some strong storms according to the weather channel. We are 90 miles south of KC and it's not even started raining here yet. :(
Awww poor Shrub, I almost feel sorry for him;)
