Hugs and love to the sweetest lady I know.
Hey Slick, you & Trevel better come & see us all when you come down under. :)
Thinking of you mate. You have a good soul. That means a lot in this sometimes crazy world.
Well Malta is not much in rute from US to Australia, oh well!!
Never say never huh!
Was following this thread but haven't posted yet.....was short of words.
All i can say is that Feb 2006 my cousin at age 21 was hospitalized to ITU (intensive treatment unit) she was suffering from meningitis (miningi Coco septiciemia) one of the killers! Never knew anything about it but got to know! She was totally not responding her heart was not working propperly, lung and kidney failure.......well her parents where adviced to start detaching!! Prepare funeral and let her GO. Wasn't that easly for sure. But she faught for her life and got it back! She is amazing she went through several amputations cos extremities where not receiving blood anymore. She survived amputation of all her fingers and both legs from knee down.
Today?!!!!! A year after!
She walks, drives her car, writes and continues her Engineering course at University.................she is truly incredible!
She gives talks and to encourage other people who are going through a rough time. Everyone in Malta knows Amy!
She vants that with her prosteses now......she got taller :D
Let me attach you all a photo of this amazing lady! This pic was taken in June 2006, not long after she was able to get home after being in hospital fighting for her life for about 3 months.
Slick, I'm just now seeing this but I want you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Ten years is a long time, long enough for many advances to be made in medical field. Just don't add too many dare devil adventures to that list of things to do and you'll be around to take advantage of more cures than are even imagined at this date.
In the meantime, don't you hesitate to check in with your status. It can't hurt to have all these folks pulling for you or at you. ;)
My doctor just called me. The results of my last CT Scan are normal. No new tumours and the ones I have, have not grown....in fact one of them has shrunk from 8 mm in January to 3 mm now.
I don't need another scan until August, 2010. While I will never be cancer free I would like to think that I'm now in some kind of remission. :)
This is so much more than I hoped for. As far as I'm concerned, this is my payment for writing my LOA cheque.
WOOHOOOOO!!!!!!
