Saying a prayer for Keegan right now, Staci.
She did great with surgery. Seems to be adjusting tho she is fighting the cone. :(
She has to be treated with Glaucoma in that eye. Not sure if glaucoma started the ulcer or vice versa.
I on the other hand am a COMPLETE BASKET CASE. Everytime I look at her I freak out that something is different and should I call the vet. Just thinking of something going wrong makes me nauseous.
Oh, Staci, remember, even if the worst happens, she'll likely adjust just fine. We'll say a prayer that everything heals up fine, and I'm not going to tell you NOT to worry - that'd be as useful as telling a cat not to shed - but I will tell you to take a deep breath, count to four, then exhale, then do it again and count to five, and try not to wrry TOOOOO much.
And give your Big Red Dog a kiss on the noggin for me, okay?
thanks Karen! and will do!
My old high school friend was murdered by her boyfriend, who also went to high school with me. Her body was found Friday night. Please say a prayer for her family. Please say a prayer for his daughter - she's got to grow up knowing her father is a killer.
Also, an online friend died yesterday of a heart attack. He visited the message forum we belong to at 1:45 or so and by 5 was gone. I met him and his girlfriend in 1999 - which seems like a lifetime ago. Please also say a prayer for Kevin's family that they are able to get through this.
Yesterday was a very sad Christmas.
I'm having my gallbladder removed tomorrow (Monday) morning. I know it's a routine surgery, and it's laproscopic which makes it easier, however I'm terrified. If you could please say a prayer that everything goes smoothly and the recovery is quick I'd very much appreciate it.
Thanks and God bless :)
Prayers for everyone who needs them. this seems to have been a rough holiday season :(
Brians dad is sick in the hospital right now. we got a text from his mom earlier. he's been under the weather the last couple days and tonight he went in to emerg.
they are pretty sure he has pneumonia. He is on an antibiotic IV right now and will be staying tonight and likely tomorrow night too.
He has lymphoma so this is a bit more worrying than it would normally be but I'm sure he's going to make it out unscathed.
if you could just spare a prayer for him it would be greatly appreciated
UPDATE on Puck's Dad
It is NOT pneumonia (hooray) just a very bad upper respiratory infection. he also has a UTI. Any infection when you have Lymphoma is bad but pneumonia would have been even worse
they took some blood cultures and it will take about 36-48 hours to get the results from those. They are trying to find out if he has any kind of blood infection. If he doesn't then that's good... they can probably fully treat him and get him better. if it is... that's not so good and we'll just have to wait and find out and go from there
The good news is he is doing a little better today. Improvement of any kind is good so we are glad to hear that. He was feeling pretty horrible yesterday so to hear he's doing a bit better today is great.
If you could continue praying for him that would be great.
prayers for sure! :)
And I will say that i do pray for everyone at pettalk.
i love all of you guys so much.
Prayers and loving thoughts for everyone!
Prayers are always being sent for everyone in need.
I just read back thru some of my posts since July and I could have sworn I posted this but I must have been dreaming. Back in OCT I believe one of our Unit Secretaries at work lost her husband to a tragic accident. I went to work the other day to see a note that her 81 year old Father in Law had fallen back in Dec and must have not been found right away- he suffered Frostbite and is to under go surgery to remove BOTH his hands and BOTH his feet. Please just send up a prayer for the Valentine Family - they have had a rough couple months.
This is a sad story all around. The 16 year old is the former best friend of the son of one of my co-workers. They lost touch when my co-worker's kids transferred to parochial school. The parents are from Argentina, very kind and hard-working people. So - if you could say a prayer for Alex and his parents as well as the girl. The oldest guy- He can go to prison for a loooong time as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks,
elyse

Please keep Keegan in your thoughts again - I need to call the vet in the morning b/c apparently the scabby areas from the cone Keeg wore decided to abscess. :( One is about the size of a golf ball. She is so uncomfortable and won't let me even touch it. Scratched her face bloody yesterday on both sides. I really hope they can make her comfortable and I hope they don't have to knock her out again - :( we could use the prayers. thanks!
Dasher isn't doing well tonight. I had to make him eat dinner and that is so unlike him. He's got a cough he can't quit. Was fine this morning. Played fetch and was so happy. Probably take him to vet in morning. I'm more than likely not going to sleep too much. Feel sick with worry.
I'd like to ask for prayers for Miss Mare. She'll be having some tests run this coming Wednesday. We don't know what's wrong so we're starting with her ovaries/hormones and ruling out as we go. To say I'm scared is a bit of an understatement. :(
Miss Mare has my prayers for sure and I lit a candle too. We are here for you!!
I'd like to ask for a prayer request for my dear friend Father Rick Frechette of Haiti. He's a Passionist Priest who is also a doctor, who runs an orphanage and a hospital in Port Au Prince, Haiti.
I recently saw a video of him and he looks SO tired and worn out. Please keep him in your prayers. This man has given his life to the people and children of Haiti. A wonderful man with a heart of gold!
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
We have recently gotten so pretty bad news. My dad, who I have been estranged from for 7 years was diagnosed with prostate cancer. We don't know yet if it is early stage of what. Also the docs found a strange spider web type mass in my mother's left breast. They are not sure what it is. They are running tests but are quite baffled by it. Anyway, both of these stories came to be within hours of each other. My brother called me about the problems with dad and less than 2 hours later my mother called me about the mass she has. Needless to say things are a little overwhelming now. I will keep you updated as I know more. Thank you all.
Sincerely,
Michelle
Michelle - I'm so sorry that you received a double dose of bad news. You and both your mother and father will be in my prayers - praying hard for positive outcomes.

Could I ask everyone's prayers please for my friend Bea? She's a mom with two young children and a loving husband, was diagnosed two weeks ago with breast cancer and operated on yesterday. She is an oncology nurse herself, so has seen this many times, please pray that she gets the care she needs to not only survive, but thrive.
She migrated here from Ireland as a young woman, and her husband's parents migrated here from China, so Bea's children have the middle name of "Chirish" - isn't that fun?
Thanks, she may have a hard road ahead, but is loved by many, so all the prayers we can add would help. Her husband has created a carepage for her, it's here: Bea - you have to log in, but I was able to use the log-in I created for Johanna's niece Samantha - it's the same company that does the pages all over, I guess!
My mom hasn't felt "like herself" for a couple of years. She is 77 - had an MRI and bloodwork, all of which was excellent, thank God.
Today we followed up with the neurologist. She is in preliminary stages of a Parkinson's type of syndrome.
It certainly could have been far worse, and the doc said that because it is so late in onset, she likely won't have disruptive symptoms for another 12 years. Mom asked him about how this affected her likelihood of needing long-term care, and he said it is way too early to be concerned about that.
We're each a bit gobsmacked...but prayers for her would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Prayers to all those who need them.
I'm asking for a PT miracle tonight...
My high school Economics teacher posted a suicide note on Facebook, and it's been over an hour. It took some time before the police were able to find him and now the police and his mother are at his house. I don't know what's going on right now, but I need to ask that you will all pray that he is okay.
He was one of my favorite teachers, and he has many, many students who love him. Everyone is uniting on his Facebook wall, expressing how much he means to them. I really hope we're not too late, so if you could pray for him, I would really appreciate it.
You have my prayers. Do keep us updated.
Last I heard they found him, I think he's okay. He was on his way to the hospital, took a bunch of pills. If I hear anything else, I will let you all know.
I would like to ask for prayers and positive thoughts for my dad. He is having back surgery this morning. It's supposed to be a 4 hour operation. I'm very nervous and anxious about it. Hoping all goes well and that it will be a success. Thanks!
Lots of prayers for your dad, Robin! and for all Pettalkers.
Prayers for Bea, for your teacher, Bri, and for your dad, Robilee.
Thank you for the prayers for my mom. She has to wait 8 - 9 months to see a specialist that will give a definite diagnosis, but today she should be getting meds to help. She will feel much better if she starts feeling like herself again.:)
All prayers to all who need them.
Two things. I am having a very hard time with sleep, which is a side effect of one of the medications I'm taking. The specific effect is very vivid, detailed dreams. I wake up more tired than when I went to bed and it's affecting my work performance.
The other is a little different. My oldest niece (29) and my nephew (26) are both getting married this year. My grandmother passed away in 2001 but I know she would be delighted about this and she would love both of her grandchildren-in-law. She loved a good party and I wish she could be with us. The other person I am missing very much is my best friend, who died about 2 1/2 years ago. It is very hard for me to imagine these two weddings without her there. She was a friend of my entire family and we all miss her a lot. But I miss her the most because we're the same age. My nephew's wedding is first, in June.
Thank you very much,
elyse
Elyse, you'll be in our prayers. Perhaps there's some little memento you could bring to both events so that in a way they are part of the celebrations?
