Liz, very happy to hear such good news for you!
Prayers continue for everyone, and especially for Phred.
Great news Liz!!!
Prayers on the way for Phred too!!! Off to light a candle for him.
Yes, phred's back in the hospital. I hesitated posting here b/c he hadn't given me permission to do so on the forum and I didn't want to invade his privacy. He gave me the all clear today so here is the update. He is now on dialysis and getting treatments of it every other day or so. Some days are better than others. He feels better on the days he doesn't get it.
He has his cell phone with him so anyone that has that and wants to call him please feel free. He had trouble remembering the name of the hospital he was in so I'm still working on that. If anyone wants his cell number please PM me and I'll get it to you.
Just please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He needs it. :(

I think I found the hospital he is in - it doesn't say if it allows e-cards or anything but there is an address listed on the website. He has no idea how much longer he will be in he feels it will be a long time b/c he can hardly walk and can't take care of himself. So calling his cell phone might be the way to go.

thanks for the update Staci - will keep praying for him.
Staci, thanks for letting us know about Phred. I'm so sorry to hear that he's back in the hospital.:( Lots of prayers and positive thoughts are being sent his way.
Prayers are also going out to everyone in need of them.
Staci, thank you for updating us on how Phred is. Sending heartfelt prayers, positive thoughts and much love out for our very dear PT friend.
Request
At the request of a Facebook friend - We are asking everyone to say a
prayer for "Darkhorse" 3rd Battalion 5th Marines and their families.
They are fighting it out in Afghanistan and have lost 9 Marines in 4
days.
More prayers on the way for our Phred and everyone else who requested them too.
Tons of prayers and candles being lit for Phred - it is so sad to think of him being in the hospital again.
Also prayers for all who need them........................
Thank you for letting us know, Staci!
I sent Phred an e-mail only a couple of days ago and had no idea he was in hospital. I'm SO very sorry to hear it. :(
Phred told me in August that he would need dialysis, and he has some other health problems. I really hope the treatment will help him feel better and he be able to go home.
I suggest that we who know him well, send cards and give him a ring - and whatever is needed!
Staci, if you're in touch with him, could you please ask how we can help him the best way?
Who is taking care of Cinder, Smoke and Heidi?
Phred is THE pillar of Pet Talk and I really think we should do all we can to help Phred feel better. He is such a wonderful man!
I have his phone no. but not sure if it's his cell phone. I will try to give him a ring tomorrow.
Dear Phred, I'm sending lots and lots of good thought for you to get over this!! Please doctors, make an effort - this is important!!
Looks like I will be asking for back to back prayers. This week, tomorrow, it is for the J-dog, Jasper, as he is having a mass removed from his shoulder. I had hoped it would be set for Tuesday, as I am off on Wednesday, through the following Monday for the holiday. So, prayers for Jasper, that the surgery will be smooth, and the biopsy non cancerous.
The prayers for the next monday involve my neice, Samantha, as well as my sister, Jessica. Sam is having a kidney transplant on Tuesday, the (a long time coming) and my sister is the donor. As you can imagine, this is a very big time for them, and we are simply fraught with worry.
Thanks,
Johanna
Prayers for Jasper, that the mass is benign and that he feels more comfortable after the surgery.
Special prayers for Jessica and Samantha that all goes well, and that healing is fast and complete. Samantha's story is one of triumph after triumph over great odds - I believe and pray she will triumph here also.
Phred - dear Phred, champion of Samantha's story - huge prayers for him. We are just not ready to lose him. Keep up the fight, Phred!
Staci and all, I found this under Communications on the hospital website:
My guess is that unless Phred has access to his own computer, emailing him directly is not possible. Maybe someone near there could take a laptop in to him and he could read emails of FB posts. I don't know who visits him, though.Quote:

A small update on Jasper. The mass appears to be benign. It will be biopsied, just to be certain.
It appears the mass was scar tissue, from an old trauma- one made with a shotgun. :( The scar tissue was located under two bigger scars in the skin. The area around it, perhaps 8 inches around, is peppered with buckshot marks, or that is what it seems. My vet said he has operated on beagles/hunters that inadvertantly got shot, and that is what the marks seem like. :( My poor, sweet, timid boy. Anyhow, it is what it is, and it explains his personality so much.
I will be bumping up Sam's story, in prep for the surgery. Sure could use Phred right now. :(
I'm posting this to ask for your prayers for a very special woman.
After 8 weeks in intensive care, our Pastor passed away this past Tuesday. The doctors sedated Pastor Alice, she was on a respirator and a few weeks ago the doctors did a tracheotomy to help her breathing. During this period of time, her husband Jeff never left her side.
Pastor Alice was everything a pastor should be. She was always available, day and night, to anyone for any reason. During her 14 years leading our small church, Pastor Alice started a food pantry that serves our community well, a swap-shop, and an ESL program. Every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, Pastor would have a holiday dinner at her house and everyone was welcome.
Her passing is a tremendous loss not only to our church but to the community as well.
Prayers for those who need them - especially Phred. My family could use some prayers. My grandma probably isn't going to make it through tomorrow. We went and said our goodbyes tonight, it was really hard. :( At least she will be with my grandpa now. We lost Corby's grandpa earlier this year so its been a rough year. :( My parents are already dealing with a lot with my dad getting hit by a car he's still wheelchair bound so for him to be able to come home for christmas they'll have to put in ramps and such.
Oh gosh, Amy, I'm so sorry. Prayers for your family, may your grandma's crossing be peaceful. Also praying your dad returns home soon. ((hugs))
Prayers are going out to all in need. Please take care. (((HUGS)))
She's gone. :(
Prayers for everyone that needs them
My family could use a few.
I got a message from my dad today that my grandfather has been taken to the hospital. he didn't have any information other than that so I have NO idea what is going on but my grandfather is 94 years old so this is extremely worrisome.
IF, God forbid something does happen and he passes away I don't know what I'll do. I don't know if I can even legally leave the country with my immigration papers processing and my family will FREAK if he passes and I don't make it up there for the funeral. it's very selfish of me but I am just super stressed about it right now AND we are supposed to leave for my inlaws place in Florida TOMORROW.
I just want to know whats going on. I feel like I'm going to be sick.
So anyway we could all really use your prayers especially my grandmother and grandfather
it turns out my grandpa has Pneumonia which is a relief and worrisome all at the same time being that he is 94. BUT he;s in good spirits, resting comfortably at the hospital.
continued prayers for his recovery please and for my grandma, hoping she doesn't wear herself too thin with him in the hospital. she needs to rest too. he's going to be in the hospital for a couple of days
Loving thoughts and prayers for your Grandparents, Sparks!
Thinking and praying for everyone else who needs prayers too.
Thank you
my dad just called about 45 minutes ago. he's on the way to the hospital. My grandfather is dying.
I'm sad but I was prepared for this to happen. he is 94 years old afterall. He was a good man and he lived a really long and good life.
How to tell my dad I can't come up for the funeral? I dont' know how to tell him and I know he's not going to handle it well :(
Healing and comforting prayers for all who need them. I am so sad to
read of your losses at this holiday time.
thank you everyone. My grandfather passed away last night around 11pm.
My dad was very understanding that I wasn't able to come up.
He's taking the loss of his father very hard. He sounded horrible today when I talked to him. So please prayers for him that he can find some peace and acceptance.
and also prayers for my grandmother. she's holding up OK but she's very lonely. They've been married for 65+ years and for her husband to be taken so suddenly and be alone is going to be tough on her.
{{{hugs}}} on the passing of your grandfather. I am glad your dad was understanding - cross border paperwork doesn't work for emergencies, sadly.
Prayers for your grandmother. I am sure a visit from you in a few months will perk her up a lot, as well as the rest of your family.
If you wouldn't mind, please say a prayer for our Sara (boxer). We'll be helping her to the bridge tomorrow evening. :(
{{{hugs}}} I am so sorry about Sara. :(
I do. In a previous job I had the most wonderful group of co-workers. I learned yesterday that one of them, who had cancer, has had a recurrence and her cancer is now quite an aggressive form. This is making me very sad today. So if you could say a prayer for my former co-worker and her family.
Thank you,
Elyse

pasting the candle link here so I can find it quickly
I posted this to facebook so sorry for the repeat for some of you.
Keegan has been treated for a corneal ulcer of her RIGHT eye since beginning of December. (She was treated for one of her LEFT eye in Oct)
It hasn't gotten better - its gotten worse. She is at the vet right now for testing as to WHY its happening and having surgery to fix it.
I know she's in good hands. Especially with Unkle Phred watching over her and thumping the vet to do it right.
We would just appreciate prayers that this works. Thanks
