I am REALLY late on this post. But, I would open an adoption center for All the herding dogs considered a herding dog. I love that group. I would take Collies(espcially smooths) and corgis! LOL!

BC Mom, since you are a dog person, how about helping out in the doggy salon or even start a dog walking service?? How about a dog sitting service? All you have to do is think about what you want to do the most and the job is yours. :)Quote:

I can be the dog cuddler! Everytime a dog needs a nap, I'm their girl!
edit: cats too!
This is wonderful! first time I've seen this, how fun! Is this how you became the Mayor, Karen?
Not sure what I can do either... hey, I did the church Newsletter for years, maybe I could do a newsletter for Pettalkville? I illustrate books now, so I could really make it cute!
YES !!!! Thanks for bringing this thread up, Slick!!!
I would love to be one of the tummy-rubbers!!!!
I'd LOVE to be that lady on the top of the hill, working to socialize ALL feral cats and finding them their WELL DESERVED furrrrrever homes!!
I can be the groundskeeper in Pettalksville! I can keep everything nice and trimmed and the grass nice and soft and cut so that al the pets can romp and play. I've had plenty of experience in RL!
Yes, it is! :)Quote:

The wonderful lady who started this thread, our user named "sammi," passed away this autumn. She had been sick, and not posting for quite a while, which is why we didn't make a big announcement as not many people knew her any more.
But this thread, as well as all our wonderful memeories of her, is truly her legacy to Pet Talk.
P.S. If you smoke, stop now. We lost Sammi (real name Molly) at far too young an age.
Boy I miss Sammi, the wonderful friend that started this thread so many years ago. Rest in peace and be always pain free dear Sammi :( I'll keep with my original job as librarian for pets and people. To repeat myself, one of my furkids favorite things is for me to pick up a book (any book, but especially one with different characters with different voices) and read out loud to them :D We will also have various mags and books for us two-leggers - i.e. "Bark", "Cats Today", "The Best Bunny Book" etc
p.s. Karen, evidently you posted the above just as I was writing this.. didn't we have fun with Sammi, Aly, Texas Auggie and all at our first PetTalk meeting in Texas :D What a great time!!!
Yes, Karen I do remember Sammi. I enjoyed all of her posts and I and all of PT are saddened at her passing. She was too young. Rest in the RB, Sammi.
That's what I wanna do!!!!! I wanna design purses though...but what would animals do with purses? P.S. Roxy and Lily volunteer themselves to be models! :p LOLQuote:

I've saw this thread (not all pages) last year or so but far what I've read - all of jobs I would love are taken!
umm, I'd be the whole pettalksville's photographer! since there are sooo many, zillion special pets out there, maybe we'd need another one.
*clicks click clicks* ;)
oh and..... (lazy to read all over) . . .anyone here needs a/nother quilter? I'd quilt, make pillow cases, condom beds, comforters, photoblankets for everyone! plenty years to do for all of them.. and the largest ones for horses. :D
heard of gina's ark, inc.. anyone would hire me? :)
Karen I didn't realise Molly had passed away. I did so enjoy her.
Gina as Karen says we always need more than one person for the job In pettalkville.
I tried to read every post but I got called away a few times & may have skipped one here or there.
Was there any mention of a pet store? We do need a place to purchase all the wonderful toys, treats, foods & supplies for all the pets in pettalkville. If there is not one I'd love to open one up in pettalkville. Of course I would not sell any puppies or the like, I would be more than happy if the shelter could be a part of my store and take care of animal adoptions & purchases.
If there already is a pet store, since I am multi-talented :p I could be a fill-in for most jobs, since most of my other prefered jobs are already filled. I could help out at the vets office, help out with training & some limited grooming, I could take the dogs on hikes or help keep the town clean, help with landscaping or book/paper/computer work, You name it I can help. :D
I can't believe I forgot to add that I can't believe that I missed this thread all these years. And I also wanted to add that I would LOVE it if this place really existed. I'd move there in a heartbeat!

ME TOO. *dreams heavenly...* -sighs- I would have been on my way there instead of new york! ;) oh, where is the pettalksville? :D
yes corinna, I missed that.
well, I have thought more specifically.. since being a photographer too, I'll be a (manager?) of a huge, huge 'in loving memory' museum of everyfur who went gone to rainbow bridge, the picture with poem(s), stor(ies), whatever they want to put up with touchy picture(s) and all! all in one, and everyone is welcome!! a lot of work  but out of my love!
...first, I'll need your help with finding a great name for that loving museum!
I forgot to mention that in my role as groundskeeper, anything I would use on the grass and trees and shrubs will be pet-friendly and completely natural NO CHEMICALS HERE!
I don't think I care what job I would have - I just want to BE THERE!!!
Ditto!! I don't care what I do...as long as I'm there!! What a great place Pettalkville would be :DQuote:

I'd love to live on Pettalkville, but I don't know what job I could have... As Gini said, I just want to be there!
Maybe one of you could help Gina with The Pettalkville Museum, or be a helper at lv4dogs pet supply shop!Quote:

Wow! I can't believe that I have not seen this thread after being here so long. I never had the privilage to meet Molly, she sounds wonderful.
I would love to be the vertirnarian technologist! If that job is taken, any other job will do!
So, when can I move? I can't wait;)
Steph and the gang!
Oh Karen I had no idea. As soon as you said Sammi, I remembered her and her dogs. It saddens me to hear about this, many times I had wondered what ever happened to her. Thank you for posting it.Quote:

It has been fun to go back and reread this thread...and remember many of the members who no longer post, or don't post as often. I'm sorry to hear of Sammi's passing.
Even though I don't know her, we should keep this thread going, in memory of her:)
