Praying that stopping the antihistimines will help calm her so she can get some rest. Increased lasix during the day rather than at night makes sense. I hope it helps balance things a bit more. Feel better Pidgie Pie. :love:

Since stopping the antihistamine, the wailing has practically ceased. I can't take them either; I get so jittery that I cry and at times feel like I want to scream so she probably just does scream. She slept almost all day yesterday, so she got plenty of rest. I was worried that she might be up all night (memories of Puddy and her nocturnalism) but she did ok. She got up to use the litterbox and ate but not excessively. At one point, I waited for her to come back to bed and she didn't, so I went looking for her and found her standing behind the recliner in the living room. I have a cat scratcher there but I didn't hear her using it. Then she walked over to the basement door and started meowing but I didn't want to let her in there because I wanted to keep an eye on her and I also didn't want her to wake the Fur Posse, so I carried her back upstairs and she used the litterbox again. One thing that she's doing now, though, is pooping just outside the box. If I can, I'm going to try to catch her when she goes and see if she's just hanging her behind out of the box or if something else is going on. She's always had a problem w/dingleberries because she's a long hair but this is more than that. (The things I talk about. Honestly.) So, all in all, I'd say this is a good report. PT prayers at work! :D

Pidge hasn't slept in this position for at least a week. This is another way that I can tell that she's feeling better. I'm so relieved. :)

Wonderful news!! What a relief that stopping the antihistimines has caused such a dramatic change in her. I also feel very anxious whenever I have had to take this drug for allergies. She really looks very content in that picture and I'm sure that long rest has done her good.
'dingleberries'!! I also call them this as well as 'dangle-berries'. LOL
She looks so relaxed and comfortable! That says volumes!

As for dingle berries - I just said that to Cassie CAt yesterday - "What's this dingle on my carpet?" As she gets older, she sometimes leaves the box before she probably should.
She's doing so well that she came downstairs this evening, walked around a little and then hopped up on the sofa beside me. She laid there as content as can be and then later hopped to the back of the sofa cushion. I just now put the Fur Posse to bed and she went downstairs w/them but I carried her upstairs and then she went up the second flight by herself. I still want to be able to check on her w/out going down two flights of stairs and waking everybody up. Besides, I like having her in bed w/me. She wailed when she went back upstairs and I hope it wasn't because she exerted herself too much but I rather think she may have wanted to be w/Boo Bear; he just doesn't want to come upstairs, though, so I guess it'll be just us girls. It would be perfect if Puddy was here and we all could snuggle together. I'm grateful, though, for Pidgelet's improvement. She's doing so much better. Life is good again. :)

She had such a quiet night that I kept waking up to check on her! LOL At one point, she looked at me and my human brain was working over time because I swear she was thinking "You can't be pleased, can ya, Mom? If I'm quiet, you worry and if I wail, you worry." I noticed this morning, though, that she's sniffling a little again and I don't want her to not to be able to breathe again so I'm going to see if the pharmacy still has the other antihistamine that Dr. F called in. No more cyproheptadine; I'm convinced that's the cause of her wailing and jitters. Hopefully, this other one will be better for her. I just don't want her to backslide now.

Well, my sweet green-eyed lady came downstairs on her own at around 1:00 this afternoon and has stayed downstairs. She went into the sun room for a little while, then sat w/me on the sofa and later snuggled in by herself. I know she's feeling better because she slapped my two juvenile delinquents Coco Puff and Creamsicle. LOL She slept through the night, no crying or wailing; she's been using the litterbox just fine and her appetite is good. I snapped a pic of her as she curled up w/her favorite pillow. She always has one eye open, though, as though she has to keep an eye on everything. I just love 'er. :love:
Don't mind the skeleton cabinet. It's Halloween, after all; not my normal furniture. LOL

Just thought I'd give you another update on my green-eyed lady Pidgelet. She's doing fabulous, dahling! I had workers here all day yesterday (they're coming back again today, ugh) and that meant I had to keep the Fur Posse confined to the basement so that they wouldn't dart out the door. The workers needed to keep the door to the garage open so that they could easily go back and forth. Pidge stays upstairs most of the time anyhow but, of course, yesterday she wanted to see what the commotion was all about, so she came downstairs. She kept getting in the way, so she went to the basement door and I thought "Why not let her down there w/everybody?" I checked on her a little later and she was able to jump up on my work table which is approximately 4 ft. off the floor. She made it w/no problem. A couple of weeks ago she was so weak that she couldn't get up on the sofa w/out help. She's just really feeling good, I can tell, and she snuggles in w/me in bed at night, too, something she never wanted to do before. She's never craved any kind of attention and always shyed away from it, actually. I'm just so happy w/how the meds are working for her and I knew that all my PT family would be, too. :)
