I am just doing a huge BINKIE over here in relief and happiness! I am so glad the news is good news!
Karen, I am so relieved that this is something treatable for our special Hoppy girl!!! :D
YAY!!! I am so happy that Miss Hoppy can be treated and we will be treated to her Bunniness for years to come! Karen I bet you are so relieved!
There's no guarantee of "years to come," but we are relieved that it is the more treatable kind, and w will be able to make her more comfortable for her remain time with us!Quote:

YAY :D Great news :D
I thought I had posted on this thread but obviously not  But Miss Hoppy was in my prayers since day 1 ;) And I will contunie prayers for her ;)
Karen, I'm so glad to hear it's "just" the thymoma miss Hoppy has, and that she's feeling perkier again. :) The palliative radiation treatment seems to be the right choice for her.
You have been very thorough, and it's good the vet is so skilled, and a bunny lover as well.
Fister and I are sending lots of good thoughts for a succesful treatment and gentle nose kisses to miss Hoppy.
Big hugs to you and Paul!
Karen, I'm so glad that the news was the lesser of two evils. I am keeping you in my prayers for more good news.
Good news. :D Prayers continuing for your sweet girl.
Good news indeed! Prayers continuing here for our special bunny friend!
Definitely not, she's extraordinary!Quote:

I'm so glad to hear Miss Hoppy is happy and healthy and will be with you for many more years. She is a truly special, well loved bunny.
Ashley
Glad to hear the good news! I am soooo happy that Ms. Hoppy will continue to be our mascot and will be alive for many years to come...
Well, she is ten years old already, so I am not sure she'll be around for "many" more years, but a few more at least would be great. And she's even taking her medicine like a good girl, too. That's my bunny!
I do hope she doesn;t have any side effects from the radiation.
So she is definitely having radiation? I must have missed that part somewhere. When will they do this?
Miss Hoppy, GOOD GIRL for taking your medicine for mommy!!! :)
A great way to start a Monday, good news about Miss Hoppy!! :D
Great news about Her Royal Hoppiness :D
an ordinary bunny indeed???............
We decided that that is the best course - the palliative radiation. She will start tomorrow at 10 a.m! And we will let everyone know how it goes, how often it will be, etc. I am excited at the chance to make her feel better. I know she won't live forever, even if I want her to, but at least we can hopefully shrink the tumor considerably, so it isn't affecting her little heart so much, and she'll be able to breathe better as well.Quote:

:) More Bunny Prayers & Huggss being sent.. I just know you will feel so much better Miss Hoppy very soon..
Karen, I'll be sending positive and healing thoughts to miss Hoppy tomorrow, it will be at 5PM here, so I should be awake. ;)
It will be SO good that she can breathe easier. :)
Good luck with the treatment!
Many prayers for her first radiation treatment tomorrow.
Prayers on the way from me too!
Prayers for a safe and good first treatment.
I know the vet said there might be slight damage to the heart...but he sounds like the kind of guy who will do EVERYTHING he can to avoid that.
Miss Hoppy is in the best hands - yours and Paul's and the vet's!
And God's, of course (by any other name you believe). :)
Duncan sends his love and hopes your first treatment goes well
Lots of fuzzy love and wishes coming to you from Vermont.
I hope that everything goes well today :)
Thanks everyone. We are home now after the first radiation treatment. The oncology vet said she thought Miss Hoppy was in remarkably good shape for her age, except for the thymoma, of course. Miss Hoppy is still somewhat woozy from the anesthesia, and so is relaxing in the living room. When she was first coming out of the anesthesia, the vet put some hay down for her, and she immediately started bunnying it down, so quick the vet said "Hey, slow down, girl!" and Miss Hoppy just kept munching away.
The oncology vet said Miss Hoppy's breathing should improve markedly by the end of this week at the latest. We will be going next Tuesday for her second treatment, and they will take new x-rays then to see how much it has shrunk, and then we get to wait two more weeks for the third-and-final treatment.
They were impressed by how bright and responsive my girl is. I told her, as I told Dr. Mayer, that people all over the world were praying for my bunny, and that she is much loved by many.
And if Miss Hoppy doesn't groom the marker off her skin, it won't take as long next time.
Glad she did so well. We could have told her how bright she is!!! :D Loved by all of us for sure!!!
Prayers continuing here!!!
I am also glad she did well :)
Prayers continuing for the cutest little bunny :D
Yay! I hope she is more comfy very soon!
Wake up, little rosebud! :)
tee hee hee. She did not want to be dirty! :) :DQuote:

I am so pleased by all this good news. Can't wait for the xray to see the thymoma SHRUNKEN!
I am so Thrilled to hear this! WTG Miss Hoppy!!! :D
So glad miss hoppy is feeling well after her procedure. Please give her a gentle hug.
Miss Hoppy, the marker is SUPPOSED to be there for the time being. Be a good bun and leave it alone. (Of course, I'm telling this to a bunny who is AFAIK still convinced that computer cables are meant to be bunny food)
So far so good, but I think she's still tired from the big procedure earlier in the day ... But the wobbliness from the anesthesia has worn off, so that's a good thing. I will go deliver some nose=pats for all of you.
And no, Lady's Human, computer cables aren't exactly food - they simply MUST be cut and moved away from the wall. Now.
The rubber/plastic covering on tool handles? Now THAT's food - ick - Paul thinks maybe it's like chewing gum or something, but I can't taste GOOD, can it? The tool box is kept shut and where she cannot get at it.
Karen I hope they find a way to cure it for your poor Miss Hoppy :)
Yes, Miss Hoppy, you are feeling better aren't you? Nibbling away at the hay, cleaning up that marker spot. Prayers that you continue to feel better, and better and better. Nose rubs coming to you sweetie!
