I like that one - our mayor can have her town and we'll all be the residents and citizens (and pillars) as we already have been :DQuote:

I like "Pet Pals" - or what about the obvious: "Pet Friends"??
I don't like Petaholics - since it suggests some kind of addiction. And it is my firm belief that one should never encourage addiction of any kind. People are actually beginning to go into rehab to receive treatment because they are addicted to internet!
Love,
Sus and Bella
That wouldn't be a problem if it were spelled 'Pet-aholics'. :DQuote:

Oh, oh I know!
How about..um..Pet Talk :D:D:rolleyes:
I knew we shared the same brain!! This is exactly what I was thinking.Quote:

Or, since you already own the domain: petoftheday.com...I liked Paul's idea of just adding "forums" onto the end of it to keep everything consistent.

We're PTers....they aren't!!!
Since we are always doing things in Petville how about making it a real place(web wise)
I'd rather not have the name changed but that is just my opinion.
Pettalkers.com is ok or Pettalkville.com something like that that still has "pet talk" in it.
moosmom, This was not prompted by Rene Knapp.
Wow, thanks for all the great suggestions. Later today I will make a listing of all the suggestions. I know a lot of people also do not want any change. Searching through Google I see a lot of people using the term "pet talk." However, all the references to PetTalkVille on Google are just to this forum. I am thinking that perhaps pettalkville is a distinct enough. It does provide a nice imagery. PetTalkVille could be full of "pet talkers".

What's the sudden obsession with being "found" via Google??
And if you just enter the two words Pet Talk -
without needing "quotes" ...
Google puts Pet Talk (PetoftheDay.com) at the TOP of the list!
I'd question the "quality" of potential Members
who would "find" us using a search engine ...
Bigger won't necessarily make us Better!
PetTalkVille.com is getting close to being "cute" ...
and sounds like a town on a model train layout.
PetTalkers.com sounds more like the GROUP we are.
Let's quit trying to "fix" something that's not broken!

OOPS.... that is the name of my own web-site  .:(Quote:

Phred, I am not obsessed with Google. It's got nothing to do with being bigger. As far as I see it, it's got nothing to do with changing this community. The name is not important. I would prefer something unique and memorable which is why I reference Google and the the .com domain names.
When I read one Pet Talk pillar's account of how he told someone to join us at pettalk.com when he meant here i.e. petoftheday.com/talk/, I was reminded that this is a small problem. I have received emails from Pet Talkers who have my email address at petoftheday.com that tell me they lost their links and ask me for the web address of Pet Talk or Pet of the Day. Once a month I am asked in email why we stopped doing Pet of the Day and asked if we would consider starting it back up again.
Perhaps there will not be any change or perhaps there is a tiny change that would be helpful.

I really hope it won't be neccesary to change the domain name, but if you do have to, I'd prefer "Pettalkers". My nexrt choice would be "Pettalkville".
Any chance you could leave it for now and see what happens? Or has the owner of the domain requested you change it now? ... they may not be in action for long. ;)
I looks like all these are not available:
pettalk. com - someone in Arizona owns it.
pettalk.net
pettalk.org
pettalk.info
pettalk.biz
Edit: Oh Paul, you have registered "pettalkville" AND "pettalkers" now, haven't you?? :D

I like this as well as the PetTales.com one that ChristiansMom suggested.
