As I didn't really know what "crohn's disease" is about, I just looked it up via Google. OMG, it is a very serious thing  . I hope you feel better really soon, Kelly, so you can go home to your "furry nurses" ;) . I am praying for you!
Thank you for the update Zippy. I think I'll leave it and try to call her at home late tomorrow or Friday to check up. In the meantime, another email.
Hope she is feeling better by now and they are able to give some relief from the pain
PRAYING THAT YOU ARE GOING HOME TOMORROW!!!!
you'll be happier there, you don't need white coats, you NEED those furry warmths!! :)
Yay:) I just spoke with Kelly and she sounded so much better. She said that she felt better today, although the pain was still there, and hopes to go home probably Friday. She's doing another bowel series of tests tomorrow.
She has an appointment with the IBD specialists on the 25th, so hopefully they will be able to help her.
On a fun note, she had a K-9 visitor today! How fun! She had a 12 year old golden retriever spend some time with her today and she expects a pomeranian tomorrow! How cute! If anyone is in need of some "fur time", it's Kelly! Too bad David can't bring one of her kitties in! LOL :p
She said thanks for all of the emails. She really likes getting them!
**hugs**
okay..prays that she'll go home before the warm weekend comes!!
*barks* Crayola, aren't we, goldies special too!! :D << (actually he has no teeth shown) :)
*thanks* the pupdaters..
Rats! I meant to call tonight but got stuck on the phone with my sister.
Thanks for the update, Karen!
Hi!!!
I'm sitting here in my hospital bed on David's laptop while he's at his youth group thing. :)
THANK YOU so much for your prayers and emails! Each time I see a hospital volunteer walk into my room with an envelope, my heart flutters and I can't wait to hear from my friends.
I'm pretty sure I'll be going home on Friday. I have another small bowel series scheduled for tomorrow morning. It's the fifth on I've had so far, so these tests are getting to be less scary at this point.
I'm still in a lot of pain, but they've given me a button to press to medicate myself. Its Dilauted (I think that's how you spell it) and it works a lot better for me than the morphine. It doesn't leave you as loopy, is safer and helps stop the pain.
My doctor is having me go see a IBD specialist at Cedars Sinai on April 25th. Its an AMAZING hospital and the group of doctors in the IBD department are really well known and knowledgable. I'm happy about that, as my doctor has done everything he has the power to do.
My doctor has been the BEST through all this. I came to the ER on Thursday night in an amulence, as I was too painful and couldn't stop vomiting to move. :( He was on an airplane from Paris and didn't get home until 5 AM on Friday. His on-call doctor met me at the ER because he knew that I'd be fearful of the NG tube and wanted to explain its importance (drains the stomach of fluids so the obsructions in the colon/small bowel can heal). My doctor came to the hospital to see me at 10 AM that day! He's so great!! He's come to see me every day and is genuinely concerned about me. What an angel. :)
I miss my furballs like crazy!! I got a few cards from "them" and they were so cute!! I keep trying to convince David to sneak Micah in (the most easy going one outside our home)...but I don't think he feels like getting on the hospital's bad list. ;)
I'll update more when I get home, but wanted to thank you all for your love, kindness, prayers, emails, calls, and friendship. You all mean so very much to me and I cannot tell you how much you've all helped me.
Lots of love and hugs,
Kelly :)
Oh my gosh! I almost forgot!!
I have THE BEST roommate!! She's 53 and has crohn's for 30 years! She's had many, many surgeries and tests and is also here for crohn's! She said we can go to some support groups together and I know we'll remain friends. :)
God sure works in mysterious ways. :)
YEEAA so glad to see you posting Kelly!!
Did you get my latest email?
I am sitting here with tears in my eyes, Kelly.
What a beautiful person you are...........and I can only
pray that these recent events will lead you to better
medical care...........under a new Dr. and they will get
you on a routine that will keep you healthy and pain free.
Big, giant, fluffy, warm, consoling hugs are sent to you.
Love, Gini

Yeah! It's great to hear from you, Kelly!
I think it's wonderful that you've met someone who's had Crohns for 30 years - wow! I know she will be a great help to you in understanding what is ahead for you and hopefully, by learning from her experiences, you can skip over some of the worst the disease has to offer.
I know you'll feel so much better once you're home with your little fluffy nurses, but until then, I sure hope all the cyber hugs will tide you over!
