Welcome, and tell us about yourself. What branch of the service are you in? And what pets do you have, as this is Pet Talk, after all. And yes, we pray for all the troops in harm's way.
Some of you will remember my mentioning Pappy and Jennie, my 'adopted' grandparents who now live in Spokane.
I just had an email from their daughter that Jennie had a heart attack - they are not sure she will pull through.
Two prayers - one that Jennie does pull through.
second, that I can pull the time and funds together to drive down there!:(
Prayers for you and Pappy and Jennie's healing, Candace. Somehow you'll find the time and funds. We always do. (((HUGS))) Keep the faythe.
Catty, I hope you can go. I will keep them in my prayers.
I don't check in often enough. We continue to ask for prayers for comfort for my mother in law, Ann, who has cancer, and is in a rapid decline.
Logan
Prayers going out for Ann, Karen. My mom is going through this with her sister...and prayers for peace and comfort are coming your way.
I heard today that Jennie is out of ICU, is alert and can hear. Her daughter told me I could stay at their retreat place - organic everything for chemically sensitive people - if I write them a review for their website.
My mom comes back from her sister's on Monday, and I don't know when I will drive down to Spokane. My mom will need me too. But it will Work Out the way it is supposed to.
Please feel free to light a candle for my aunt Lydia and all who care about her: http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/...l=eng&gi=Lydia
Prayers, please, for the people and animals in Haiti.
Sending out prayers for all of those who requested, and need them...
I have a prayer request: I have a test on the urinary system tomorrow, and I've studied A LOT more than I have been lately on tests. I have come to realize that I really need to study long, and hard. Pray that I pass the test tomorrow?
Thanks:love:
My dear elderly friend Jennie is dying.
Her daughter and I had been messaging back and forth. My aunt is also ill with terminal cancer, and I wanted to see Jennie but needed to be here for my aunt AND my mom.
Jennie's daughter said that even though she had had a heart attack, the docs expected her to have another 18 months, so to give my family priority of course!
I was going to call Jennie Sunday but was exhausted.
Today - about 11 hours ago now - Jennie's daughter posted that she had spend 7 hours in emerg with her mom. Jennie has congestive heart failure. Trouble breathing...liver function has stopped. Kidneys are shutting down. To quote: "She is shutting down."
Prayers please that her passing is peaceful. Jennie knows how much she meant to me, and she and Pappy and I always said the "I love you's."
Thanks.
I pray for each and every one of you guys!!!
My grandmother was taken to hospital this morning. As yet, we are not sure exactly what the problem is, but from what we know so far she is in some substantial degree of pain.
She put up with the pain for an entire night because she didn't want to bother anyone. That is so typically her - as sweet as they come.
I don't usally ask for prayers, but a little PT magic has worked in the past. I will keep all others in this thread in my thoughts, too.
Please say a prayer for my friend Dalon and her 2 little boys.
Alan, her husband is missing and presumed dead.
He and his boss were caught in an avalanche yesterday while out on snow mobiles. :(

Oh NO - prayers for Dalon and those two sweet boys. Avalanches are horrid things - but miracles happen. Prayers for a miracle here.:love:
Please say a prayer for a friend of mine. Her little boy, 7 years old, had surgery for a ruptured appendix yesterday. Evidently, there was a massive amount of infection. The doctor told Dana that it looked like a grenade went off......I haven't heard how he is doing, but I know he is pretty sick. Thank you all!! I pray for all of the people on Pet Talk every night!!!
I have to find another position. Pray that I find one quickly and it's something I'm well qualified for.
We will keep you all in our prayers.
My prayers will be offered for all who need them.
Prayers for all who need them.
I also want to send prayers and thoughts out for all of you that have posted.
I am in need of prayers myself. Please pray for my Mom that has dementia, my friend with cancer that is recovering now from a terrible infection, and my Son that has all sorts of gastro problems. He is having surgery soon. We will find out when tomorrow. It has been very trying for all the family and our friends. Thanks to everybody.
Yep. I've got an interview on Thursday - university hospital with a good reputation, with several primary care sites in the surrounding suburbs. They're looking for a nurse to handle insurance communications and discharge planning for patients from the primary care clinics who have managed care insurance and are admitted to the hospital. I can do that. I'd be happy working there because I got my master's from their program - and also because they now have an on-site fitness center, which they didn't when I was a student there. I'm sure I could do good work there and I'd learn a lot.
Thank you so much! I'll update after Thursday---

Good luck, cassiesmom! I'll definitely be thinking of you. :)
I feel bad asking this, it's pretty stupid. But I did really bad at auditions (let's not even go there) and I think I really put my job on the line...ugh. People have started getting calls already and I haven't yet. Can you please hope (WITH me!) that I got my job back? I also have another request..I have HSPA's next week - it's a graduation requirement - meaning I HAVE TO PASS them. If I don't pass them, then I need to take a class next year and drop one of my science courses that I REALLY need to take, and TAKE them again.. Please wish me luck next week with these exams? Thank you guys, and of course I'll be thinking of all of you too :)
I got an e-mail today. Didn't get it; didn't even get a second interview. I'm disappointed. I have another interview tomorrow with a company near the Merchandise Mart.
And dad is in the hospital. He's been having jaw and shoulder pain with activity for the past several weeks and it has gotten to the point where he's getting it with less and less activity. He called his cardiologist, who sent him to the hospital, and they kept him for some following up.
cassiesmom...Your dad is in good hands - I hope he feels much better soon.
And your next job is just around the corner - it and you just haven't quite met yet!:)
Sorry about the job, I will be praying for your second opportunity and your Father.
Prayers for all who need them.
Especially Kalei, Lillycat, and cassiesmom; Catsnclay.
And more prayers for Bean of Moon and Bean to come home.:(
An update for those who PM'd. Alan's body was found a week after the avalanche. It was found 1 day after his and Dalon's 8th wedding anniversary. :( Alan was buried on February 26th.
Dalon is exhausted. Their 2 little boys are missing their daddy. Thank you for all your prayers -- keep 'em coming.
How horrible. :( Prayers for Dalon and her boys; I hope she has other family and support during this awful time. Extra prayers for the boys, again.
Alan's Obituary:http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/adn...&pid=140212401
This is a wonderful thread... I would like to please put out a prayer request to help me over come this fight with Breed Specific Legislation in Florida.
Absolutely!
Update. Dad had one blocked artery, so he had one stent placed. he managed to avoid catching the cold my mom and I both had. It took about a week for him to get back to his usual energy level and he is still taking iron tablets.
No news on the job hunt yet. I've sent out a bunch of resumes, made a lot of follow-up calls. Nothing yet. I have a few more follow-up calls to make next week.
Saying an extra prayer for Dalon and her sons....I'm so sorry for all your sorrows at this time.
He's in God's hands now,and I'm sure Alan is looking over you all, with every chapter of life you go through.
To all:
Sorry I haven't been around to much lately, but please know that I'm thinking of everyone here at Pettalk and praying for all of us to have strength and positive thoughts for the rest of our own lives.
Life can be very hard, but live it,love it,and help one another with kindness.
