Nah, just that first night! Most of it wasn't too bad, it was just a couple parts that stuck with me in a bad way. Great movie, though. Definitely worth watching! Just maybe not starting it at midnight, like I did. ;)

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets  I hadn't seen this one in a long time :)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2. A bit different from the book as all the movies are but all in all a wonderful ending. I cried from the part where Professor Snape is killed to the end. The ending was a little silly but it was good all in all and a fantastic ending to the series!
House Broken with Danny Devito - worst movie ever. Very disappointed because I like Danny Devito. This was a 2009 movie. I went over to hang out with my new daughter-in-law the other night and they have Netflix. We only watched in about 20 minutes and canned it.
We also watched Meet Bill, another older movie, 2007, with Aaron Eckhart whom I  :p . A light hearted movie with a lot of laughs.
The Help
Really Good!
I watched Jurassic Park last night. It's one of my favorite movies. I've been watching it since I was little. The second one is my favorite out of the trilogy, though. It has the most dinosaur action :D
We watched The Lincoln Lawyer today. I haven't seen a suspense movie in a good while, and we really enjoyed it.
We watched Big Fish yesterday. I  that movie.
I have just been to see Final Destination 5 on 3D, my first ever 3D movie, it was a goodie, but beware not for the faint hearted, i did miss a few bits of the movie, due to the fact i am faint hearted, but i enjoyed it all the same, 3D is awesome, i am hooked.,we have a new movie cinema just opened in our mall complex, which has the great big xtremescreen, so it was pretty amazing.
I also went to see JANE EYRE a couple of weeks ago, very good movie, if you know the storyline, just the same, but well acted, moving film.
We watched Thor the other day - it's out on DVD now, so we got it from Redbox - gotta love that one dollar fee!
It was really good, surprisingly so, and pretty decent at following some of the actual Norse mythology.
I was surprised by that movie, too! It was fantastic! I only checked it out because of the cast. It was just the right amount of camp, and never got cheesy! I don't know how they did it, considering the hero carries an oversized hammer! How does that come out anything BUT cheesy? ;) I gave it two very enthusiastic thumbs up!
Last night, we watch "The Solitary Man" and, given Johnny Cash singing the title track in the opening, and the fact it was starring Michael Douglas, we gave it a shot. I'll will spare the rest of you - don't bother. It was a sad, but not even in a good way, story. You just end up thinking the main character is a pathetic idiot, and not in a funny way. Fine performances by Susan Saradon and Danny DeVito and other big names in minor roles, but not worth the time.
Came across "Airheads" with Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi and Adam Sandler on cable. I missed the beginning but I want to Netflix queue it and see the whole thing!
I also want to see the George Clooney/Brad Pitt "Ocean's Eleven" again. I hope they re-release it because I'd like to see it at the theater.
i have been to see quite a lot of movies lately thanks to my wins, REDDOG is a must for all to see, an australian film that all animal lovers will LOVE,have your tissues handy is all i am saying.
Midnight in Paris, HATED IT HATED IT, so BORING, BORING, i am not a owen wilson fan so that did not help, yet some people love this movie, but for me 2/10 and that is only for the comedy in it.
THE DEBT , great movie, thrilling, intense, loved it 8/10.
Anonymus, not too bad, a bit confusing, not quite my type of movie, but it was ok.
IN TIME, i really enjoyed this movie, and i am not in to sci fi type or futuristic type movies, but yes was good.
Going to see one day this weekend, and The beginners and contagion soon.
Tower Heist with Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller, Alan Alda and others.
We thoroughly enjoyed it :)
nope not a woody allen fan at all, i guess hate was a bit of a strong word for it, just found it so boring.
Just been to see one day , a nice romantic type film, but a bit slow i thought, and not as good as it could have been, but it was ok.
Going to see The beginners soon.
We saw J. Edgar this afternoon. I really disliked it. Too much switching back and forth between time frames. Too long. I really don't like Leonardo DiCaprio.
If I had been by myself, I would have left within the first hour.
I had not heard any good reviews for J. Edgar, will probably wait for cable based on your added input.
We watched "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" this weekend, and I just love the animation on these Narnia movies. I particularly was impressed with the dragon Eustace became, thought it was well rendered.
I plan to see it, although this is the only "review" I've heard of it. I am a big Leonardo Dicaprio fan, as well as Clint Eastwood. Not sure I'll see it in the theater, as it doesn't seem like a big screen movie to me, but I'll see it when it's available on demand, or at redbox. ;)
My husband has seen most, if not all, of the movies Eastwood has directed – and he said this one was not up to his previous films.
I think you’re wise to wait for it to come out on DVD or demand – will cost you less.
I thought it was long and boring, but the two things that really put me off –
the constant back-and-forth between decades got old fast. The other thing was the make up used for aging. DiCaprio’s was okay, not great, but okay. Armie Hammer (playing Clyde Tolson) looked like a cross between a zombie (Night of the Living Dead) and Herman Munster. I laughed out loud when I first saw it.
Did any of you see Amadeus? F. Murray Abraham played Antonio Salieri – and his aged makeup was fantastic – right down to his hands. Absolute perfection.
Oh well, it’s been a long time since I saw a lousy movie – guess it was just my turn :)
Saw "Anonymous" about William Shakespeare and whether or not he is the true author of his writings. It so messed w/history as I've learned it that I'm going to see it again. The acting was good and the men were scrumptious. Vanessa Redgrave was her wonderful self as Queen Elizabeth as was her daughter Joely Richardson as a young Queen Elizabeth.
yeah, I'm a big fan of Eastwood's. Ever since Dirty Harry haha. Yeah, we don't watch a lot of movies at the theater, unless it's a big screen type movie, like Harry Potter, Thor, Avatar, that type of thing. Dramas and comedies, unless I get invited by friends or something, I usually just wait. I don't feel like they "lose" anything by being viewed on the small screen.
And I haven't seen it, so I don't know how much they go between decades, but I've never minded that kind of back and forth . . . I'll just wait and see if it bothers me.
And Amadeus is one of my favorite movies ever. :)
Breaking Dawn! Awesome movie! Three of us went to see all four movies yesterday, Twilight starting at 4, Breaking Dawn at midnight. :)
I just finished Robin Hood (the BBC series from 2006) and let me tell you, I have rarely been so emotionally involved in a television show. I'm planning on making one of Maid Marian's costumes from the second series as soon as I finish the costume I'm making for the annual Doctor Who convention next week.
But I've also been watching, between today and yesterday North & South (for of Richard Armitage, of course) an eight part mini series about the Tower of London, and a really neat film called Life in a Day, where people all around the world were given cameras for the 24th of July 2010 and they just filmed their day. It was all brilliantly edited together.
Went to the preview screening last night of NEW YEARS EVE, gotta say loved it, nice movie, i never was a hilary swank fan, but have to say she really looked beautiful in this movie, good cast, nice humour, just a nice movie, and of course had hottie jon bon jovi, a nice piece of eye candy for me lol.
I rate it 8/10:)
Mary did you have any trouble following the storyline at times in "Anonymous" coz we did, however we did get it in the end, and yes the men were lovely eye candy weren 't they?
I saw CONTAGION a few weeks, back, was not too bad a movie, nothing fantastic, but not bad either, 6/10 and saw THE BEGINNERS, i liked this movie, it did not go exactly where i wanted it to go, and was a bit different but i did enjoy it, love ewan mcgregor in it and the french actress is beautiful, 7/10.
Did i mention the australian film RED DOG, you all have to see this, it is based on a true story, take your tissues though, and i will say no more, 8/10 plus for me, LOVED IT.
Going to see THE IRON LADY , and ALBERT NOBBS next week.
From 1981 - Chariots of Fire
Wonderful movie :)
I watched a movie on cable called "Buck" about a real life "horse whisperer" - guy, Buck Brannaman. There were terribly sad parts of it - his own childhood was brutal - and one horse is too mentally damaged and gets put to sleep (not on screen), but it is worth watching for anyone who loves horses.
Last movie was The Notebook. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0332280/
Really good movie. I'd watch any movie with Gena Rowlands in it.
Terrific actress.
Wanted. Entertaining, and I loved James McAvoy's performance. My favorite part in the movie was when he got his pay back with his horrible boss and his lying best friend. It was a brilliant scene haha
Angelina Jolie is the reason it took me so long to see this movie, I really don't enjoy her at all anymore, and seeing her completely nude just made me really sad for her. She was practically skin and bones and I just don't understand how anyone finds that sexy or hot. I have friends who have eating disorders and I'm not saying they're not beautiful people, despite their disease and what it has done to their bodies. I'm also not implying that Angelina Jolie has an eating disorder, but, in my opinion, she looked nearly skeletal in the movie, and I just don't understand why she is cast in a movie that is so physically charged. I don't understand how she's even able to walk in heels, her legs are nothing but bone.
My point is that James McAvoy, despite not being the typical "leading man" type, like Hugh Jackman or Russell Crowe, Brad Pitt or George Clooney . . . I totally believed in his character and what he was doing on screen (although it was completely over the top, with bending bullets and such). It was never at any point, believable that someone in Angelina Jolie's physical condition could do half of what the character was doing.
Anyway . . . I wasn't expecting to type all that, but since I have . . . I might as well submit it. ;) Overall, it was fun to watch, and had a fun soundtrack, but not the best movie I've seen recently.
Kari i read her unauthorised biography, she is indeed one strange, mixed up young lady, cannot remember if it said she had an eating disorder, as was a while back i read the book.
Went to see the latest MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, loved this movie, so much action, was not bored for sure, some humor and female and Male eye candy, never been much of a fan of Tom, but loved him in this, not even my type of movie generally, but really enjoyed it 8/10.
I like her well enough, but she certainly has lost the physical sex appeal, at least in my opinion. I remember her as Lara Croft, that's when I thought she was sexy! ;)
I want to see the newest Mission movie, although I'm not a fan of that style either, really. I LOVE Simon Pegg, though. ;) Glad to hear it was fun!
I haven't been watching any movies but I've been watching QI and Stephen Fry in America. :) Oh and of course series two of Sherlock finally. There are only three 90 minute episodes per series and the third airs this coming Sunday.
I'm about to watch the last episode of Sherlock! (It's like a movie, it's 90 minutes long)
"Black Swan"
Don't really know what I thought about this movie. Crazy. I thought Natalie Portman did a great job, but overall I didn't really care for the movie.
Saw War Horse the other night. It is action packed & if you like feisty horses it is a movie to see.
I gotta say i did not like it at all.
I have just seen TINKER ,TAILOR,SOLDIER ,SPY.I have to say i have never been so bored in all my life, there was no excitement, just boring talking and meetings in this movie, and i really lost track of what was going on, that did not help either, and NO eye candy, well apart from COLIN FIRTH and even he was not looking that great, and maybe the blond guy in the movie,The rest were just plain downright UGLY, i was curious what my hubby thought, as he will watch almost anything, lol, he summed it up well, "I would rather sit and watch paint dry.
I was totally surprised, i was so looking forward to this movie, as they are raving about it and it is British, which i prefer really, but nope all i can say it was a free movie thank goodness, but still a waste of our time to make the effort to go and see it 3/10 from me, and that was for the killings in the movie, as the only exciting thing that really happened, and for colin making an appearance.
