The film takes us into some very heart wrenching territory. I found this to be an exceptional film. This was Nicole Kidman first
film where she both acted and produced, and she did an outstanding job on both.

Watched "The Expendables" last night.

The first 15 minutes of the movie was good. It went off the cliff from there. Stallone should never be allowed to write a script ever, ever again.

Little plot development, less character development, and badly scripted unrealistic action sequences. I completely understand why it was in the theater for 2 weeks.

Finally got around to watching The Taking of Pelham 123 yesterday. It was great, and for anybody that hasn't seen it and enjoys a great adventure, I would recommend it. John Travolta was believably scary!

It did peter out towards the end, I thought it was a 4 out of 10 and kinda enjoyed the stuff they blew up.

THis past weekend I watched OPEN RANGE with K. Costner and Robert Duvall.

A good Western with the good guys taking it on the chin and coming out on top in the end.

On Wednesday I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides. What can I say, I love Captain Jack and could sit watching and listening to him all day. :D.

Ok, Penelope was excellent, Ian played a wonderfully evil Blackbeard ... in fact all the cast played their parts well. It was enjoyable but it being in 3D didn't work for me so I plan to go see it in 2D sometime before it leaves the theatre.

The film was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor (James Franco).

This is a outstanding movie that I didn't have any trouble relating to since I have tended to put myself in situations like this but of course not this extreme.
This is an adventure movie turned character study.

Lost in Translation

My that is quite an old movie now, i saw that when it came out and to honest i got lost , i did not enjoy the movie, neither did my daughter, but some rave about it. What did you think?

Excellent movie. I remember hearing about his rescue years ago. My only complaint would be the excessive profanity at the beginning of the movie. I had hoped to show it at school. Now I'll have to buy the school version also.

I watched Thunderbirds on Disney. Not bad and it was better done than GI JOE. Recognized Genie Francis, then remembered she is married to Jonathan Frakes.

Mostly I've been re-watching the Numb3rs.

My friend wanted to see Hangover 2 for his belated B-day gift, so what can I say? I never saw the first. Ok, it was somewhat funny to me but not really my sense of humor. People in the packed theatre were hysterical. Good thing I had a large popcorn.

Ohhhhhhhhh...I LOVE TROY. I've seen that 4 times already.

Tonight I watched Hachi, a Dog's Tale. OMDog, if you've never seen it, this is a huge LES and tissue alert. One of the most touching movies I've ever seen. Based on a true story.

I LOVE that movie. I have from the first viewing. One of my favorites from Bill Murray, for sure. He's always been a favorite comedian of mine.

I just watched a good one. I have forgotten the name of it already but it was something about Samson played by Victor Manure and his side kick played by Arnold Swartsnigger.:D

just saw the french film afternoons with Margueritte,love foreign films, this one was really nice,good ending, and great actors, Gérard Depardieu well know french actor, was as always great in it,he certainly does not have the wow factor in the looks department, but boy can he act, loved it.,infact i am now really in to foreign films, they seem so much better than anything else i see.:)

Havent watched any movies today. watched a couple episodes of Supernatural last night though LOL

I got a quarter of the way through Insidious, never ever finishing it. :p

My parents finally let me have the password to their Netflix account about a month ago, so I've been watching a LOT of films and stuff.
Just finished Latter Days- I cried.
Earlier today I watched The Science Of Sleep, and walked away feeling like I had been dreaming for about five hours, which was very weird.
I've watched an Argentinian film called Plan B twice in the last week now, I just loved it. It checked all of the boxes of things I've been liking recently.
And I'm also slowly making my way through All Creatures Great And Small. I started watching it for Peter Davison but I truly love it now.

Black Swan. Awesome! Natalie Portman is so good, I love watching her. It was definitely strange seeing her portray such a meek, weak character. She was so twisted, I was mesmerized. LOVED it. :love:

Oh my you really love this film Kari, i honestly did not enjoy it at all,it was a big disappointment to me.

Got to agree though Natalie did an awesome job in this film.

I just finished a film called XXY. There were definitely emotions involved for me!

Yeah, I think it's a love it or hate it kind of movie, for sure. I LOVE weird movies, though, and this was definitely the strangest thing I've seen Natalie Portman do.

I watched "Sleepers" tonight on TV...first time I've seen it, good show.

I just finished Lake Tahoe. It was very slow moving and very understated, but I finished it and didn't regret watching it. They kind of overused the cut to black screen, I think.

Haha films seem to fit into three categories for me.
A) Didn't like it- Couldn't even finish it
B) Liked it- Watched it all the way through, don't regret watching it, but probably don't want to watch it again any time soon.
C) Loved it- probably my new favorite film, will probably watch it several times more.

We went to see the Winnie the Pooh movie today! It was a good movie, and all the characters were true to the original. My only complaint was that the movie theatre played far too many ads and previews - and even though I liked the Legend of Nessie short, there was just too much stuff before we actually got the see the movie itself. I don't envy all the parents with young children that were there.

But I'm guessing that's something the theatre chain controls, so maybe it would be better elsewhere!

And so I just watched another one. This one was called Year Of The Nail. It was solely still photos taken over the course of a year by the director, but with voice overs and sound effects to tell a fictional story. It was pretty good and for the most part I forgot I was watching still images. It seems like the thing you'd either hate or love.

Oh my, I've watched a lot of movies lately, haha.

Rango, which was adorable. Johnny Depp as a lizard was totally new, but it was cute.

Red Riding Hood, actually pretty good. Totally unexpected ending.

Spiderman 2, I know I'm way behind on watching Spiderman. I saw the first one recently, so we got the 2nd one, it was good too.

Catch Me If You Can. AMAZING movie. I just spent about 30 minutes reading an interview Frank Abagnale did with a 13-year-old aspiring journalist that blew my mind. What a life he has led and continues to lead. Fantastic guy!

No films, per say, but today was my first day off in over a week and I'm dogsitting so I didn't feel up to much other than staying home and watching stuff. I watched a stage recording of Company, Doctor Who, Top Gear, Little Britain, and now I'm about to watch My Little Pony (I know, I know) and then Road to El Dorado.

Yes, I do spend the majority of my days off watching stuff.

I just watched Valkyrie....for the second time. :D

Cowboys & Aliens was action packed & gory too. Harrison Ford was his good old self. It was filmed in New Mexico with some real pretty scenery. Not for the faint of heart though & just about froze to death in the theater they had the air turned way down. :eek:

I LOVED Cowboys and Aliens. Like Bonny said, it was very action-packed. There isn't one boring scene throughout the whole movie and all the acting was great. :) I went to see it because I love Harrison Ford and he was awesome to.

won some preview tickets to the film INCENDIES, which is french for Scorched, a very moving ,powerful movie,in french sub titles, but i love foreign movies,8/10 well worth seeing.

Atonement. I loved it. Made me sick to my stomach at the beginning, and broke my heart at the end. Fantastic performances, gorgeously filmed, and I thought the score was cool. I'm not a huge Keira Knightley fan, although she's a great actress . . . but she and James McAvoy were brilliant together. Their scenes together, especially at the beginning, were so full of passion. Loved loved loved this movie! :love:

The Last King of Scotland. WOW. It's a great mix of fiction and non-fiction, and the relationship between Forest Whitaker's and James McAvoy's characters is fictitious . . . but I loved it! Probably some of the worst visuals I've seen in a movie in awhile. I actually had nightmares after watching it! 300,000 Ugandans killed in less than a decade. Unreal! Fantastic movie!

Kari my sister saw this movie when it first came out, she said it was good, but pretty violent, hope you are not having any more nightmares.:)
