Hey Phred, I think that kind of recipe isn't really a recipe... just a guideline. Use whatever you want, depending on your personal preference and taste. :)

I was with my best friend and her girls for most of the day and I watched Days of our lives (I am addicted :o) when I got home and then took a nap. I woke up and had a rice krispies treat and a granola bar for dinner. :o I wasn't really hungry tonight.
A typical Kitchen Person (COOK's) answer ... "season to taste" :eek:Quote:

You Cook People really otta get your "directions" together a lil better! :p
And what about the "couple other things" ?? Like WHAT??
* green beans?
* onions?
* corn flakes?
* a pound of fish?
* a dash of Jello?
MickeyD doesn't make ya think THIS Hard for dinner.
;)
Possibly some seasonings and herbs. Though, I'd be extra careful when adding other flavors if you're adding a lot of worcestershire sauce. She might've meant some salt and pepper, though, I'd be careful with that because there is already a lot of salt in the stuff she used.Quote:

Krista, I am a firm believer in cereal for supper. :P But I'm also one that enjoys supper's leftovers the morning after for breakfast.Quote:

onion - but I used a SMIIIIDDDGE of garlic
and a can of REAL COCA COLA
and I used frozen skinless chicken breasts - I put them in the crock pot frozen and turned the heat up to high for the first hour - then turned it down to low for about 5 hours.....
http://www.aliciaskitchen.com/crockp...ken-recipe.htm similiar to this.....
and actually Buckner lol I didn't use any salt or pepper!!
I prefer a sweet BBQ taste - which is why I put in brown sugar....
if you like jello flavored chicken you could probably put that in there too! ;)
Krista, I eat cereal a LOT for lunch - I work 2nd shift and the cafeteria opens @ 5 so if it gets too late when I am getting ready for work, I'll just eat a bowl of cereal.... :)
Friday my mom came over and we spent over 4 hours planting flowers and weeding. :eek:
I put in the crock pot - a jar of Hunts Tomato sauce with Mushrooms, a can of crushed tomatoes, about 5-6 small packets of sweetner and 1/4 brown sugar. (like I said I like my tomato stuff sweeeet) Let it simmer for about 4 hours served it over chicken and prosciutto tortellini, and ricotta and spinach tortellini. It was fabulous!!!
I am, too! I like to eat cereal for supper because it is fast when I'm hungry. It's eggs for supper tonight, though, because they need to get used up.Quote:

What time is dinner???
Usually, it's the third meal of the day. However, in the south and in the country, we refer to dinner as the second meal of the day.Quote:

But I believe we're referring to the third meal of the day.
Tonight is Fusilli Mare E Monti. Which is fusilli pasta with crab, scallops, calamari, onions, garlic, parsley, peas,& mushrooms sautèed in oil. very good. :)
it came in a box. I am sure you can find it at walmart or any grocery store and we just put chicken in it. :) here's some thai recipes http://www.thai-food.com/recipes/recipes.htmlQuote:

You are sooo right...I am investing a few euro right now in a great encyclopedia being put out by Mandori. It is a 16 volume set and has some absolutely phenomenal recipes.Quote:

Tonight.. it is angel hair pasta with spaghetti sauce and smoked sausage meatballs. (hubby is making it)
Tomorrow.. earlier today, I started red beans to soak. I'll put the beans in the crock pot either tonight or eaaaaarly tomorrow with some Tony Chacheres and let it cook all day. Served over jasmine rice with corn bread on the side. Red beans and rice, woo!
We are having chicken fajitas tonight. I marinaded the chicken all day, just cooked it on the grill, saute' up some onions and green peppers, and shredded up some cheese and wrapped up in tortilla wraps, salsa and sour cream on the side...yummmmmm
Yummmmy! Do you want to share that recipe for the tilapia? Pretty pleeeeasseeeee? :)Quote:

How do you fix the teriyaki chicken Kay? Marinate and then grill? Your meal sounds perfect! The chicken fajita meal also appeals to me.
what IS tilapia? I keep seeing it on menus and then googling says it is a small fish? Is it a specific type of fish or just a name for small pan fish??
Tonight we had pasta with peppers, onions and italian sausage - a favorite of mine :) Dessert was lowfat chocolate ice cream topped with strawberries.
talapia is a very mild white fish that has become very popular, my kids really like it.
Last night I did it all on the BBQ.
Marinated chicken thighs
Veggie skewers (cherry toms, yellow pepper, mushrooms)
grilled eggplant slices
Really dry and bad sushi premade at the grocery store that just fell apart all over.
I got lazy we had pizza from costco :p
Tonight hubby and I cooked together. We don't do it often but it is always great when we do. We had purée (mashed potatoes but slightly different), green beans, & steak in a honey garlic red wine sauce.
The sauce was amazing. A sweet taste but not too much. It was yummy.
Tonight hubby grilled out some teriyaki chicken. I marinated it in some bottled teriyaki sauce and it tasted great! He also grilled yellow squash and zucchini. We had the chicken & veggies with teriyaki rice (microwave foil rice) Dessert was sliced strawberries. Oh and sweet tea of course!! ;)
Debbie, I brush it on with a marinade brush while on the grill. :)
Tonight is;
Spaghetti Casserole
Fruit Salad (Made it with watermelon, blueberries, canteloupe, 3 types of apples, pineapple, with kiwi & cherries.)
Homemade Chocolate Chip cookies for dessert
tonight i had left over breakfast. i made irish oatmeal-apple-cinnamon bake on sunday. i gardened tonight and i needed something quick and tasty.
we had breakfast for dinner. my mom made me and her an omelet with sauted mushrooms, cheese, and ham in it. :) then I had some bacon and some hashbrowns and a plum. my dad had an egg with potatoes and ham. :)
I had some corn pudding for supper. I fell asleep, and dad brought home Moby Dick at around 9:30. I had a few bites of it, but it was just too greasy for me. I've been feeling kind of nauseous here the past couple of days so food hasn't been too good to me. I might go have some watermelon later or in the morning because I haven't been getting that many fluids in me.
We just had scotch fillet steaks, with a honeyed bbq sauce, sorbaise potato's and steam vegies. :)
