All my furkids and I also wish the very best on Hope's surgery tomorrow. Will they keep her overnight? Will she get too excited with the Trick-or-Treaters coming to the door? I do so hope/pray that all goes well for her. Any further information on the cancer? Do they think they got it all? I'll be here tomorrow evening with bells on, waiting to hear good news. You go, girl!

DOGRESQ,
Hope & Julie, just wanted to let you know
that you are in my prayers tonight!!!
I do believe in miracles!!!
Love & Positive Thoughts to you both tonight !!! Liz & Buddy.
-
Good luck tomorrow, Hope! If there is any dog out there strong enough to oull through, it's you! Take good care of her Julie. God bless both of you!
-
Thanks again for all of your support, kind thoughts and prayers!!! I took a 1/2 day off work tomorrow so I will be able to be with her after surgery. It will be nice and quiet for her where we live. We don't get trick or treaters up here.
Mary, thank you for the info on the web sites! As for Hope's cancer there has been no signs of any recurrence. So hopefully the eye surgery is Hope's last obstacle and she can have a normal life!!! Probably won't get much sleep tonight. The anticipation is overwhelming!!! Talk to all of you tomorrow! :)
-
Oh, Hope, we will be praying very hard for you tomorrow. I pray that all will go well and you'll get better fast!! Good luck!!! (to you too, Julie!)
-
Just dropping a line to let you know I'm thinking of you today. I HOPE all goes well!!!
-
Any news, Dogresq? Been thinking about you today!
-
I'm hoping and praying that everything will go well.
Jackie

How is Hope! All paws and fingers here are crossed for her today!
-
YEAH!!! The surgery went very well and the Dr. is very pleased and excited for Hope. She is still very groggy and her eyes are swollen but her glucose is stable and she ate a little tonight. She is such a trooper!!! She will go back to the Dr. in the morning and will be checked again on Friday and then once or twice a week for 6 weeks depending on how she is doing. She has to wear the "collar" for 6 weeks which I am sure is not going to make her happy. But I think once she gets back up on her feet and can see it will make a big difference. Of course, I am ecstatic and your thoughts and prayers have helped us through. I am praying for a easy recovery and can't wait until she can go out an play with the other dogs! I will let you know tomorrow what the Dr. says. THANKS EVERYONE!!!!! :D :D :D
-
Big Hugs to both of you! :D I'm so happy to hear that she came through with flying colors, as usual. :)
-
Oh such great news!!!! I hope she continues to do well!!!! I am so happy! :D Good luck in the morning! Please let us know!!
-
Hi Hope, this is Kobie. Glad your surgery went so well--there's soooo much neat stuff to see in the world! You won't believe it! It'll make it worth having to wear that #@!$% lampshade for a little while! (Shh--don't tell anybody, but I had to wear one too when I got fixed. It ain't cool.) :D
-
Oh Julie, you can't know how excited I am. That is the BEST news I've had in a very long time. You are the best for sticking with little Hope through all this. I'm so glad that the prayers and good thoughts worked. PLEASE give us an another update soon!!! Congrats! Tell the doctor that he is a miracle worker!! Little Hope, the pain will go away and you will be able to see your savior. And Kobi is right...those collars suck, but it will help you little girl!
-
Julie and Hope, that is great news! You were both in our prayers yesterday and it looks like we got an answer. We are still wishing you a speedy recovery and lots of happy times together in the future. This is truly a miracle relationship!
-
Julie, I couldn't be happier. What wonderful news. Hope, you are the bestest, bravest furry girl on the planet. Wish I could give you the biggest hug and kiss :) Love to you Hope and many, many thanks to Julie, a real angel!
-
Excellent news! I am SO glad to hear the surgery went OK and that Hope is recovering like such a good girl.
Yeah!!!

DOGRESQ,

I am so Very Happy for you both. Hope has
such a strong will to live; She surely is an
Angel and a inspiration to us all!!
Strong prayers and Positive thoughts are
still being offered for both of you...Liz

Hi Everyone!!! Hope continues to do well and the Dr. is amazed at how well she has done with the surgery. He has taken quite a liking to her and she has stayed at his office the past two days while I have been at work. He too believes she is a miracle and feels that her strong will to live is the reason she has done so well. He said that within a week she should have full vision. Right now I think she can make out figures and definitely can tell the difference between dark and light. She has beautiful brown eyes!!! I cannot tell you how thankful and blessed I feel that she has done this well!!! She is my angel!! :D
-
Oh this is just so exciting!!! I'm so happy that you saved Hope, Julie!! You are an angel. I never dreamed that when I first posted Hope's picture that she would be saved by someone as wonderful as you! I pray for her continued recovery. What a great story!!!!
-
Oh Julie, I'm so excited!! How has she reacted to being able to make out shapes and light and dark? That would be so cool to watch. Give your angel a big hug from the Kendall clan!!
-
Wonderful new on Hope. It will be wonderful for this special dog to have the gift of sight. As for wearing the lamp shade, we used to tell our Bailey (who had skin problems and periodically had to wear one) how beautiful she was when she had it on. She really believed it was a special outfit and used to prance around like a Queen. My husband and I had to be careful to laugh to ourselves so not to destroy the illusion.
Hope, you are a real inspiration. I wish I had your courage and spirit. You go girl!
-
This is the greatest news! This story and the people that made this mircle happen WOW! This would make a beleiver out of anyone. It makes me want to cry and smile at the same time.

DOGRESQ,

Hope's good surgery results!!! Just wanted
to send Hope & Julie ,and all the other
furkids in the household a hug and wish for
continued progress and health!!!
You all are in my thoughts and prayers
every day... All The Best, Liz.
-
great news julie and hope...we have been praying for you...so glad all is well...keep it up!!!!! the deli dog
-
Any new developments? I am dying for an update. Hope girl, how does it feel to see Julie? Julie how does it feel to know that you're responsible for her being able to see for the first time in a long time? Not only that how does it feel to know that you've given that precious dog a new lease on life?
-
How wonderful that Hope's surgery turned out so well! You're both very special.
How is her diabetes? Did her surgery have any affect?
-
That is great news! Our prayers have paid off :)
-
Hi Everyone! Hope continues to do well and each day I can see a little improvement. The Dr. said it will take a while for her body to adjust since she has been blind for so long. I cannot tell you how great it feels to have Hope look at me and know she can really see!! Her diabetes seems to be stable and she is eating and drinking well. It will be a long 6 weeks for her to wear her "lampshade" but it will be more than worth it!! She has adjusted to it rather well and I call her "pretty girl" and she prances around! All of you have been such a great support for Hope and I and thanks will never be enough. You have helped me through one of the toughest ordeals in my life with my animals and as far as Hope and I are concerned-you are all saints!! Hope sends a big sloppy kiss to all of you!! :) :)
-
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah!!!! I want to meet you guys so badly. We want more pictures!! And you're right, those "E" collars are a pain in the petutie! When Billy wore his after we had his eye removed he ran into everything and it caught on the carpet (because he's so short). After awhile we got a little sadistic and laughed at it...it really was pretty funny. But he never let it stop him...he was great about it, even when the other dogs ripped off of his head and played tug of war with it.
Hope, you talk to your mommy and tell her to bring you and your brothers and sisters out to Indiana so you can play with our bunch...if you've never played before (which I know you are learning)our brood with definitely teach you some good lessons!
Julie, you are the greatest. I truly admire you and you and Hope are 2 of my heroes (herorines). Mike requests a picture (as do I)of Hope with her "E" collar on.
Good luck!
-
I just can't tell you how happy I am to hear that Hope is doing well. She brings Hope to all of us. She is a hero in my book and so are you for being so kind to her.
Jackie

Are you still accepting donations for Hope at the Box 63 add.?
-
I am so happy with Hope's progress! I check for updates all the time! The fact that this little fighter is doing so well is heartwarming. Julie, you're a life saver!
-
It's wonderful to know that Hope is doing so well. I'd love to meet both of you sometime, but I know it probably won't happen.
I'm sure Hope is devoted to you as only a grateful dog can be. You deserve at least that much as well as kudos from all the people who have been following your progress.
You have my admiration and thanks for taking on Hope.
-
Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and words! Hope continues to do well and today was her first day "home alone". I was a nervous wreck!!! The Dr. thought it would be best for her to be at home where she is comfortable and would be the quietest. One of the girls that works at the vet hospital where Hope was previously staying during the day, is coming up to the house during the day to let her out and go for a walk. I just couldn't leave her alone all day while I was at work so now Hope has her own pet sitter!! I will get some new pictures soon so you can see her in her "lampshade". It has been a long road for Hope but I finally think she is getting very close to being a normal dog. Our prayers have been answered!!! We are still accepting donations at the POB 63. Thank You! :D
-
DOGRESQ,
I am so very happy that the Almighty sent
Hope to your care!!!It's GREAT to hear of
her continued progress..I do believe in
miracles ; and I also believe in Karma.
Love,Prayers and Good Wishes to both Hope
and Julie !!! Liz & Buddy...
P.S. Looking forward to any new pics...
-
Oh Goody!!! Pictures on their way. I would have lost my mind leaving her alone all day. I wouldn't have gotten much teaching done I can promise you that. I'm glad to hear that Hope has her own private nanny...that should ease your mind some. I know that when I go back to school on Tuesday that I'll be worried about my DaisyMae. I'm so glad that God answered all of our prayers...I knew He would though, how could He resist such tenacious females?
-
Hope is such a funny girl! The stitches in her eyes are starting to heal so her eyes itch and since she can't rub or scratch her eyes, she flutters her eyes and must think she can scracth her eyes that way! It is the funniest thing to watch!!! "Pretty girl" with the "lampshade" is really something else!!!! ;) ;) ;)
-
too funny. it sounds likr she's flirting with you!!!
-
I'm so happy for both of you!!
