Audrey, I did a real quick Streets and Maps query and from the middle of Maine to Findlay, OH is 1020 miles. About a two day drive.

We usually do the drive all in one day, and we're just 1 1/2 to 5 hours from most points in Maine.
Hey, you know cat folks and others are welcome to come, too! After all, we have a bunny, and no dogs presently, and we come! The dogs are always willing to mooch off anyone handing out treats, regardless of their current animal affiliations.
And does everyone have their Road DIRECTIONS from last time??Quote:

Oh GUDDIE, the *link* still works.
OK - Here's how to get your MapQuest "Directions" with Turn-by-Turn Instructions ...
Use the Click-Link (below) to get to the From and To page for MapQuest.
**WAIT** till the page fully loads - or you'll goof up the pre-filled data!!
When the page finishes loading - you'll have TWO big data blocks -
the one on the LEFT asking for your STARTING Location;
the one on the RIGHT >> Already FILLED IN < with the Dog Park Address.
If you have it - do NOT use Microsoft's "AutoFill" - it will put your home address
in BOTH blocks - erasing http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif the pre-filled Dog Park Address! http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/mad.gif
JUST fill in your Home or "Starting" address in the LEFT (STARTING Location) Blocks.
Here's the *Link* to MapQuest >>>
MapQuest Directions To: Findlay, OH ~ DOG PARK
NOTE!! for ROBIN and anyone else driving North from the Columbus, Ohio, vicinity!!! >>>
MapQuest tries to send you the "short way" using a bridge near the Reservoir
that has been closed for two years!!
It's being rebuilt as we speak - but not scheduled to re-open before Memorial Day.
CHECK your MapQuest "directions" - if you're routed over US-23 and OHIO-15 -
we need to "talk" before you drive - there are NO "Detour Signs" at the closed bridge!
I'll send you a "revised" MapQuest that gets you around the closed bridge.
Robin:
If you can't find last year's directions - let me know and I'll send you a new copy
of the "around the closed bridge" route.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
IF you want to use a GPS or another Mapping Service - here's the Dog Park Address:
16000 Township Road 208 -OR-
Township Road 207 AND Township Road 208
Findlay, OH 45840
The Dog Park is INside the Hancock Park District's "Riverbend Recreation Area";
about a mile south of Ohio Route 568;
and just north of the North-East Corner of the big Findlay Reservoir.
The Reservoir is on most maps - and stands out because it is drawn as a
Big SQUARE Blue Lake;
south-east of downtown Findlay.
If ANYONE has trouble with the Route to the Dog Park - PM "Cinder & Smoke"
with your E-mail and Home/Starting Address.

Thanks for reposting the link Phred. I've prinited off directions. :)
It's good to know any local closed roads,detours, etc.
There's not SUPPOSED http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif to be any hang-ups other than the busted bridgeQuote:

That closure is only about 2 miles from the Dog Park. Robin and I are the
only ones I know are bothered by that detour (Staci comes via the back roads).
Folks routed either north or south on I-75; or on Ohio-12 or Ohio-224 should
have no "major" interruptions ...
I-75 will have construction all summer - but traffic should be flowing A-OK over
the Memorial Day Weekend - they won't be working.
But no matter how you come or what routes you follow - PAY Attention to the
highway signs you pass - remember the Mapping Sites (MapQuest, Yahooo, Google)
and your GPS do NOT know about and plan for road or bridge repair closures!
If the SIGN says the road or bridge is closed - Please FOLLOW the Detour!!
Any questions - or you think you're being sent the wrong way - PM me.

To anyone coming up Rt. 23 from Columbus - just stay on Rt. 23 and get off at the Carey exit.
Rt. 23 goes right through Carey. In the center of town, turn left onto 568 (at the gas station), & STAY on Rt. 568. It's about 10 miles or so, and the Riverbend Park will be on your left - you'll see the sign & that iron trestle bridge that crosses the creek into the park.
This is the easiest way from Columbus, no turns, no detours. Just Rt. 23 to Rt. 568.
If anyone would like my phone number, please pm me. I only live about 10 minutes from the dogpark. If you get lost locally, we'll get you there.
Time to send the dog park application....we'll see you there!!!
I am sending my application out this weekend! And anna, I'll be pm'ing you soon about the cake.
I can't wait, I've only been waiting, oh about 3 years for this, since it started. lol
I know the alphabet and a few words.Quote:

***Edit to add, only 247 miles! It's looking better by the moment.
Is it ok for me to bring Maggy even though she's not a bigger dog?
As long as she gets along with other dogs, she'll be fine. There are usually dogs of all sizes at the park, and if she gets intimidated, she can always hang out with the people at the picnic table!Quote:

Lobodeb, it's not a bad drive along the lake from Chicago. Dogs of all sizes seem to all get along. plus, I've noticed that those little dogs are QUITE capable of taking care of themselves! They're the ones that back off the bigger dogs! There's alot of smaller local dogs that may be around, too. Several beagles, chihuahuas, and jack russels come to the park.
Hmm, not much going on in Findlay, - Cincy's Mom lives inToledo, there may be more going on up there. 4-dog mother Diana has lived here a long time, she might know more.Findlay's just a quiet community, with some nice restaurants. There is a wonderful museum of illustration art from children's picture books over at the University. I can check on when they'll be open, if you're interested.
I never even knew you were considering coming...that would be so awesome!Quote:
