LOL Carole!! It's just like saying, "I plead the 5th" or "I can't say" or "I have no opinion" It's a joke because, as I'm sure you know, so many women have trouble talking about their own beauty without society thinking they have a problem. It's just being silly! :D :D ;)

I wouldn't vote 'yes', but I can't bring myself to vote 'no' either. :o I figured I don't need to destroy my self-esteem by considering myself 'non-beautiful', because that's all it would do.
I don't think I'm 'beautiful', but I guess I'm okay. ;) Not bad. LOL... I hated the way I looked several years ago, but that was when I was 20+ pounds heavier. These days, I'm okay with how I look. I hope to lose some more weight...working on that now. Maybe once I reach my goal, I'll be able to feel more 'beautiful', but for now...I'm just...wellllllll...'okay'. LOL! Actually, when I make myself look nice, I do feel 'somewhat' pretty even now. He he he.
That being said, I do consider myself beautiful on the inside...and seeing that beauty comes from within......he he he.
I feel people shouldn't judge themselves or others based on looks. The most beautiful, stunning model could possibly be the most ugly person within, and vice versal. Sometimes I go against my beliefs on this issue myself by saying I don't like the way I look, but in all honesty, this is how I see things. In fact, I always advise my brother to marry a girl who's beautiful INSIDE, and not marry someone just because she's gorgeous on the outside. He just laughs and says, "She has to be beautiful inside AND outside." LOLLL!!!
God made everyone beautiful in one way or the other. ;)

I think some men do. They just hide it better sometimes or have a mid life crisis as they say.;) I dont get why a lot of men think when they turn 40 and up that they need to go after a 20 year old. That has to do with some self esteem issues dont you think?
I really don't know Jadapit. I'm not in a position to say because I've been on my own for 10 years now. I've never had much luck with men and have never been dumped for a younger woman.
I mean, men are human too and I'm sure they have self esteem issues. I really want to hear from Richard, Trevor, David and any other men on this board. LOL I guess the mere title of this thread would probably scare them away.

It's pretty hard to put tickets on yourself and a tad unbecoming, but you should at least be honest with yourself. The thing that surprised me the most was how some of the ladies looked at themselves. Granted that having had a bad experience with some numnut of a boofhead bloke is going to sour your perception somewhat, though I do feel that what you absolutely can't hide is the beauty that everyone has from within. Everyone on here has it. It leaps at you from half the world away. How you are and how you feel is based upon your experiences. They can be good or bad, but the thing is, is that you must embrace those and see through any negativity that may befall your life in any given situation.
I have on occasion been in some very dusty circumstances, seen some truly horrible things, experienced terror at it's worst. Admittedly some of these things have taken some time for me to work through, but work through I did. Maybe experience comes into it. But ask yourself, did I make someone have a good thought today, and I can assure you that everyone on here does that everyday. I became a member of this site because, not only did I want to talk about my kids, but because it's my daily dose of happiness. No matter how my day has been, I will always have a smile when talking to the people on here and looking at there lovely pets.
In short ladies you are all beautiful, you all have such good souls that just radiate happiness. :)

I've never thought of myself as beautiful. If I could lose 30 lbs I'd definitely feel better, but I still would not think I'm beautiful because I'm not.

Lexi lover I'm so glad you are happyer now! My life pretty much sucks and the only thing pulling me through is Niño and future thoughts of travling.
I thought your picture was very pretty. I hope you can see this, and what really counts anyway is not what highs chool, middle school, or elementary school kids think of you, it is how you are on the inside, what makes you happy? You have Lexi and Skye and Chiquita and everyone here on Pet Talk. Please know that I think you are very beautiful on both the inside and out!

I couldn't agree with you more, Trevor. Yesterday I received an email from one of my best friends thanking me (and two other best friends) for the flowers she received for her birthday. In her email she said that "it made her day". In that instance, I did feel good about myself because I made someone happy. So why do I judge my self-worth on whether or not I make someone feel good? Recently, because of my actions/words, I have brought on more stress for someone. So what happened? My self-worth/self-esteem (whatever you want to all it) took a nosedive and all the negative talk started up again. Yes, I'm working on it, daily.

Sadly, that isn't my hair....its something my sister did, I have hidious hair....always up in a pony tail...naturaly wavy/curly and its very annoying and NEVER shines, which makes it look unhealthy....:rolleyes:Quote:

I voted yes. Not because I think I'm superstar or supermodel beautiful (although my husband seems to think so;)) but because I feel like I'm a beautiful person on the inside and it shows on the outside. Does that make any sense?
I've always felt like a ugly duckling for one reason or another but when it really comes down to it I love myself for who I am and think I am a beautiful person.
I just wish the rest of you felt that way. I think you all beautiful in one way or another because you are all beautiful to me:D
