When my husband had rotator cup surgery I showered with him every morning (at 4:30 am - trust me- it wasn't romantic! :rolleyes::rolleyes:).
I have also done the "bath with one leg hanging out." Just make sure your husband helps you into and out of the tub!
We tried the bath thing once it was pretty miserable because to hang my leg over my back had to be up against the spout. Getting of a tub with one leg hanging out is easier said than done too.
I got my knee walker, its great...much better than crutches...

did your doctor suggest more calcium supplementation during the next 3-4 months?
My doctor didn't but I have been wondering about that, my husband has some I think I will start taking it.
You probably should be taking it all the time - especially now that you've had a broken bone. If you don't mind me asking - how old are you? You can tell me it's none of my business if you want! :pQuote:

Of course you can get a 2nd opinion from your doc - but he'll probably advise the same. :p
I went to the doctor earlier this week. He told me that he tells all women to take calcium with vitamin D. He said to build up those bones with all the calcium you can before the body starts losing it. He also told me that there is no reason for a nonsmoker that does not take steroids to get osteoporosis. So, this week I've started taking calcium with D. I'm 37. I also found out I have high cholesterol, but that is a topic for another thread.

I really didn't break a bone though I wrenched the whole joint out of place and the cartlidge needs to rebuild so I am sure calcium will help with that, it can rebuild the stuff around it while the joint is screwed together.
I used to pooh-pooh the idea of taking calcium, feeling that I got enough in my diet. However I now have very severe osteoporosis and a history of numerous fractures because of the bone loss. I wish I had started on a preventive course earlier.
I guess that's why I tend to be preachy about taking calcium supplements, since I hate to see anyone needlessly go thru what I did. It's such an inexpensive and easy way to prevent a lot of future misery. :)
I go in tomorrow to hopefully get my cast off, please keep your fingers crossed for me that my foot has healed enough because I am indeed going nuts.
I believe I will get a walking boot and will need that for 3 weeks, I still can't drive but hubby is retired so he can drive me to work everyday, I have missed two months of work and need to get back.
I know I won't be able to come home and do four hours of housework but it would be nice the house needs it! Hubby does pretty good but its not the same you know what I mean:D
