The Blind Side & Sherlock Holmes.. Great movies!
I saw "The Last Song", let's just say I've never cried so much at a movie in my life. My sister could've cried for the whole theater. Very moving movie. I loved it overall.
tHE iNFORMANT MATT DAMON. I liked the movie. had a lot of twist and turns.
going to watch Case 39 on dvd tonite, let you know what i think.
I was watching "Jaws" again, and I was thinking if they did a remake they could cast Daniel Day Lewis as Quint.
Precious. Talk about an upsetting movie. I was a wreck throughout the entire movie. It was good, though. Mariah Carey really surprised me.
I'm watching the newest episode of Doctor Who, so very exciting! My Firefox crashed half way through so I'm waiting for it to reload. I'm also downloading it. So far I'm LOVING it, I think the new Doctor is great and very Doctorish without trying to be Ten too much.
I really want to see it too! Craig Ferguson is coming to Chicago in a few weeks; he's already sold-out one show and a second show was just added.Quote:

Ah Jaws that sure brings back memories for me Blue, was when i visited universal studios way back in the good ole days, jaws was one of the latest attractions, i remember going along on this coach type of thing and jaws coming out of the water, scaring the heck out of me, was good though.
Saw Case 39 on dvd in the weekend, quite enjoyed it, predictible though, but not too bad a movie.
Has anyone seen Mao's last Dancer? Dear John? When in Rome, Genova, i want to see all of these movies, blindside has finally arrived in NZ may 6 so taking hubby on his birthday the 7th ,so really looking forward to it, after your favourable reviews and starring sandra, it has got to be good.
Saw Leaving, well what can i say, did not know it was all in french with sub titles but even though i had a headache managed to concentrate on it, let us just say i saw way too much of kirsten scott thomas than i cared for, an average movie, would not pay full price to see it, i had cheap tickets, but it was ok
I just finished watching Avatar. Not exactly the type of movie I would normally watch, but it was good. The special effects were amazing, but overall, it could have been at least a half hour shorter and not have lost anything in the translation. Just too long. :( That said - I'm off to bed! :)
yes funny you both should say that, because that is what everyone has said about it, too long, did you know most of the special effects were done by Weta Digital From Wellington NZ,I think they won a BAFTA award too.
I have just finished watching The lovely Bones, by our Peter Jackson, it was good, i read the book first, and the movie lived up to the book IMO, I commented on the special effects being really good to my husband, and saw in the credits, done by none other than our Weta Digital again, yep they are very good at what they do,they have done us proud.
Parts of the film were also shot in Wellington NZ.
And word of warning Wombat you are not stealing them and making them your's ok got that. lol
Dirty Dancing. :)
I would love to see Precious, as well as The Last Song! I've heard good things about both movies, now I just have to go see for myself!:)
Finally The Blindside arrived down under on thursday, so hubby and i have just seen it this sunday, it was great, loved it, and Sandra, well what can I say , you did it proud, you are awesome, i so love that girl, she always looks gorgeous and especially so in this movie, very touching movie, and so well acted,8/10.
Hoping to go and see A single man next weekend, my other favourite actor Colin Firth, he is supposed to be brilliant in this. Anyone seen it yet?
Repo! The Genetic Opera.
Just saw The Hangover.
I am sorry, that movie Sucked BIG TIME.
I counted 7 laughs.
----------
I am constantly amazed at the dumbing down of the movie audience.
As much as I like to watch people get tasered?
I smirked once during that scene.
----------
The other complaint I have is about the sound levels while watching some flicks.
I had to keep adjusting the volume on the tube because every song played would get unbearably loud-forcing me to turn the volume down, then when the music stopped, I could not hear the dialogue.:mad:
Also, why is every soundtrack complete with the one loud, obnoxious rap song/music?
saw The Blindside, awesome movie, sandra you were tops, but then when aren't you and you looked gorgeous as always, yep a big fan.11/10 lol.
Hired out Sherlock Homes, hated this movie, did not even watch it, even hubby was not impressed, and he watches anything lol, and my daughter who wanted us to hire it out, turned it off half way through.0/10
Also got What up with the morgans, was a bit hesitant as had bad reviews here, but it was ok, sure not the greatest movie, and i thought Sarah and Hugh's acting was appalling, however i did get a few laughs out of it, so maybe 5/10
We watched It's Complicated on PPV last night. Very funny. Meryl Streep was great. As well as Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, although I am not as much of a fan for Alec Baldwin as I used to be.
Wasn't that a great movie, i saw it on the big screen and just loved it, funny thing is i never liked alec baldwin until i saw him in that movie, now i am a fan,yep certainly worth hiring out.:):D
Saw "War, Inc." on a movie channel (in fact, I think it was TMC). Remember the movie "Primary Colors" with John Travolta and Emma Thompson? It's a little like that. Sort of a satire on the Halliburton story with former VPOTUS Cheney. John Cusack is in it- he's from Chicago and I really like his movies. Also Hilary Duff and Marisa Tomei.
If you like Robert Duvall - "Assassination Tango" is another one I recently saw from the satellite dish channels. I missed the beginning of it, but basically he plays an assassin who sort of gets an unexpected connection with a beautiful woman in a foreign country.
I watched Hotel For Dogs today, and it was the first movie that I cried watching.hahaha. I loved it!
"Last Chance Harvey" starring Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson.
Loved it!!!!!
"Planet Terror"
Hahaha..disgustingly gross and so laughable!
Just got home from seeing SALT, with Angelina Jolie. Loved it!!
Action from the beginning to the end. She must be in great physical shape.
Invictus outstanding movie directed by Clint Eastwood, With Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon ----Highly recommend.
Something the Lord Made 2004 With Alan Rickman, Mos Def, Kyra Sedgwick. Outstanding made for TV movie. Highly recommend.
Robilee wasn't last chance harvey awesome,l saw it when it first came out at the cinema, like you i loved it, it was such a sweet moving movie, without all the bad language, violence etc etc.,and i would watch it again, and i rarely do that ever.
Going to see INCEPTION first week in august, won some movies passes, so that will be interesting, my nephew has just seen it, he liked it but said it was very long, hmm i don't think it is going to keep me interested if it is a long movie, my attention span is not too long lol, but we shall see.
Anyone seen the new Movie Knight and Day yet?
It really was a sweet moving movie, Carole. It had a charm to it and what I like about it most is that it was a grown up movie...lol. I would also watch it again.
I got some movies from the library and spent the weekend watching them.
NIGHTS IN RODANTHE... a sappy love story but it was ok.
PASSENGER....I found it boring.
A SERIOUS MAN.....crazy movie and kind of boring. Wasn't for sure what it was about, didn't get the ending... BUT it's a Joel and Ethan Coen movie so what can you expect...lol.
THE WRESTLER...Good movie, good acting. Enjoyed it.
THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT...I wasn't haunted or scared.
I saw 'Charlie St. Cloud' this afternoon. If you read the book, it was completely different and the plot was changed up quite a bit. NOT to say it was a horrible movie, but it wasn't accurate. It was a good movie overall, but in my opinion, the book was way better.
just watched Remember Me and Up In The Air, on dvd, both were ok movies, nothing to write home about, but entertaining enough, probably give them a 6/10, i was a bit disappointed in up in the air, it had rave reviews etc, and i certainly did not think it lived up to them, not bad movies but not exceptionally great movies either.
2012 sucked big time.
Now?
I pray the world does end in December 2012. That way the world will never have to see stupid movies like that forever and ever, Amen.
The Losers? *** Palatable, saw it on TV as the A-team.
I am working my way thru the Clash of the Titans-the orig and the redo....WTF, Hollywood can't get either story straight.
I love the "old movies" and plan my Saturdays around PBS. Last night I watched "Treasure of Sierra Madre" with Humphrey Bogart. Last week I watched "Arsenic and Old Lace" with Cary Grant and Raymond Massey. For as many times as I've seen it, I still laugh especially when Teddy runs up the stairs yelling "Charge!!!!".
The best part is all the oldies are shown in black & white as they were originally made.
Blue i have just seen the girl with the dragon tattoo on dvd and then next day went to see the girl who played with fire at the movies.
I have to say both were intense, certainly not boring, a little too violent for me, but i still enjoyed both movies, the story line was good, although very explicit, and you will know the scenes i mean, however i would rate it pretty high 7/10, i am now reading the book the girl who played with fire, and it makes great reading, better than the movie so far, as there is so much more in it, and even though i know most of the story i am still finding it an exciting read.
cannot wait for the third movie ,might get the book.
Loved the scenery, sweden is beautiful indeed.
One has to admire Lisbeth salander, man you don't want to mess with that girl lol.
Warning, if you are easily offended this is not the movie for you.
Last night we watched two similar and very good movies The Prestige and The Illusionist. Both movies are about magicians and both have the most interesting twists!! I have seen them both before and will likely watch them both again! I especially like The Illusionist and still don't have it all quite figured out! "Things are never what they seem!"
Had anyone seen these and if so, have you figured out what really happened??
I won the dvd The daybreakers so felt obliged to watch it, i am not a science fiction fan or of vampires, but it was ok, full of action, and i did sit through the whole movie so that say's something, 6/10 for me.
