No, not to long at all! I agree with you on Batman Forever, but Tim Burton didn't direct it. Just the first two. I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it was much truer to the the book than the original Gene Wilder version, although I like that one, too. ;) I read James...Peach, too and really enjoyed the movie. I don't remember tons about Corpse Bride, but I remember liking it. I don't think I've ever watched one of his films and hated it although some I like more than others. Edward scissorhands may always remain my favorite. :)

I love the Alice Kingsleigh books and have liked the four or five different versions that I've seen, although I know there are several more! It's hard to compare them, even though I have my favorites. ;) The books are all about imagination and the impossible, so there are really no boundaries to what can be done with the characters!

Towelhead-
I came across this movie and didn't bother because of the title. I was flipping thru the channels and saw that Aaron Eckhart was in it...I like him in the Batman flick and began to watch this movie.

I had to go back and watch it from the beginning. WOW, it wasn't a run-of-the-mill movie about 'teens', it had a bunch of "-isms" that were worked into the script. A well done, thought provoking movie.

LOL, I wanted to beat the crap out of most of the males in the flick.

Not a kiddie movie....A++++.

Loved "Alice"!! Saw it last weekend. But I love this sort of thing anyway. And I usually like what Tim Burton does. "Nightmare Before Christmas" is one of my favorites.

Anyways, "Alice" wasn't the best example of a film to watch in 3-D. I think it would be just fine without it. I saw it in 3-D, i-Max on that huge screen and that was fun, but it would work on my little TV screen as well. I think movies need to be filmed with a 3-D camera for it to really work well.

Helena B-C was freakin' hysterical in her role as the Red Queen! Loved the giant head!

I finally got my hands on Withnail & I. It was slightly different to what I expected, but an instant favourite anyway!

Going to watch my sisters Keeper on DVD tonight ,have read the book and loved it, and also scored some free tickets to see Law Abiding Citizens, will review both when i have seen them.

Most of the BEST movies that I have seen lately are small productions that 'supporting' actors star in-all the actors in this movie gave slam-bang performances.

The gal that played the lead was so young looking that I GOT CREEPED out about her doing the movie!

AE's character made me yell at the screen-LOL, A good thing for an actor?

I love it when I get immersed in a flick and end up talking/yelling/cursing at the characters...I hate them until the movie ends, then I love them for getting me mad and entertaining me...:D

Anyone seen Green Zone yet, with Matt Damon? My brother is in it, or at least I think he is - unless his part wound up on the cutting room floor. I only want to see it if he's in it, otherwise it's just not my type of movie. He played a soldier, and all he says is "I don't know, sir". :p hehe, let me know if you happen to see it.. :D

Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) Their latest electrifying thriller does not measure up to the last two Bourne Movies. There is action from start to finish but the action got blurred and was not believable in spots. Although I agree with the idea behind the movie it did not ring true, as it seems all Iraqi themed movies miss their mark.

I watched the 1965 movie Dr. Who and the Daleks. :) It was actually pretty good, but I found it weird that it came out while William Hartnell was playing the Doctor on tv, so they had a different man play the Doctor. They also sort of threw cannon out the window for a little bit. It was in colour though and the set was really cool. (very 60s!)

Oh and there's a sequel so I'm gonna check that out next.

Yesterday I watched "Grumpy Old Men" with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon. One of my all-time favorites. Those two guys were so good together in movies. Shame they are both gone now. :( My favorite part is when one throws a dead fish in the back seat of the other's vehicle and he doesn't find it right away. :D

i thought it was an interesting, loving film.....

I saw HOUSE CALLS with Matthau a few weeks ago. That was a classic Matthau comedy, worth the time and effort.

I am not a big fan of apocalyptic movies. This movie did nothing to change my mind. The movie has some very realistic special effects that make you wonder how it was done. Most of the FX were over done and not believable. The movie was long without really adding much more that suspense that you could predict the outcome. Not a must see in my book, Want a lot of action go see the movie.

Went to see "The Hurt Locker" last night. I didn't like it, but it's not the style of movie I'd ordinarily have chosen. It did so well at the Oscars, though. It has a lot of rough language.

yes did you hear about the morgans had a shocking review down here, i was going to see it, but after hearing that chose to see its complicated which was an excellent movie,shame my favourite actor hugh grant lowered himself to act in such a bad movie.

Zombieland. Actually saw it a few weeks ago, but I can't
remember if I reviewed it in here. I give it an A+++++! It was awesome, we actually rented it from Redbox twice. :)

My sister-in-law and second cousin watched New Moon the other night. I was busy around the house but I watched several parts. I enjoyed it again (saw it in the theater), it's a decent movie. It bugs me that the first three films so far have had three different directors. Make up your mind! :)

I love documentaries and have seen some good ones lately. HBO has the best.

I saw Afghan Star, A flick about an American Idol style program in Afghanistan.

Assault in the Ring, The story about a boxer who killed his opponent during a match. Very, very good.

Duke versus Carolina, about the basketball rivalry between the two schools. I am not a huge BB fan, but love the story.


I especaially like Liev Schreiber, the actor...he does the commentary on quite a few of the films.

melissa saw Bounty i think that is the name, said it was ok, starring Jennifer Aniston, and She's out of my league, she enjoyed that one, i am off to see law abiding citizen on saturday, so will let you all know what i think.:)

We watched The Men Who Stare at Goats. I loved it. It was different, and I didn't expect it to have so much heart. It was drenched in foolow your heart, discover your personal legend, complete faith in something, connections to nature, etc. And it was very funny. Awesome cast!

I think I may rent Up in the Air tomorrow. And I still wanna see Precious.

Anyone see The Cove? I've been wanting to, but I know it'll tear me up...

Kari let me know what you think of up in the air,it is still screening here in NZ at the cinema's we get things a little later than the US market, so be a while before it is on dvd for hirage, i am thinking of going and seeing it ,so be interested in your view,precious also looks good, i heard it is heavy though and quite sad, let us know ok.

Carole, I loved it! George Clooney and Anna Kendrick are awesome together. Lots of heart, very human. It was wonderful.

Today I started watching Step Brothers but I got bored and walked out of the room and started doing something else. I also watched Sweeney Todd again. :rolleyes:

I watched "Relative Strangers" tonight. Love DeVito......and Kathy Bates was good in it to.

law Abiding Citizen was an awesome movie, it kept my interest the whole time, and it takes alot for a film to do that for me, very tense, but i won't say more as it might spoil it for everyone, i got free tickets but i would pay to go and see this movie, and i don't do that very often lol.:):D

My dad, my sister and I watched "Inglorious Bastards" on DVD. My sister is a big Quentin Tarantino fan. I'm not, but I thought Christoph Waltz (who won the Oscar) was amazing.

A local movie theater (Hollywood Boulevard, on 75th and Lemont Road in Woodridge, for anyone in the Chicago area) is having a screening of "West Side Story" with special guests Rita Moreno and Russ Tamblyn on April 11th. Would I love to see that! I've seen it as a video/DVD, but never on a movie screen.

The Blind Side....Good and touching movie. Loved Bullock in it.

Super Troopers....stupid movie. LOL...for some reason I got a kick out of the "meow" part.

Law Abiding Citizen....Enjoyed it.

We still have not got Blind Side in NZ, yet i am so wanting to see it after all your reviews here and i am a real fan of Sandra's, has anyone seen her in ITS ALL ABOUT STEVE, i must get this out at the dvd store, since my hubby's name is steve and all lol and stars my favourite actress.:D

I love Sandra Bullock and always enjoy watching her in films but I thought All About Steve was a terrible movie.

It was just a bad storyline. The acting wasn't bad at all now that I think about it. Of course like I said earlier I always like Sandra. Don't let my opinion stop you from seeing it. I normally hate to tell people what I think of movies because everyone always has such different taste. If you watch it make sure you let me know what you think.

I saw ARMORED good 'cops and robbers' movie for a Sat afternoon. Matt Dillon and a host of others. B+

Even THAT did not save the movie. LOL, the only complaint that I have is the soundtrack.

When they got to Pandora the jungle was filled with Howler Monkeys from the jungles of Earth. That and the sirens and other sound effects, in one scene I had to look around and try to see the truck that was backing up. Nope, it was in the movie.
