Wow, this is so much fun hearing everyone!! I must say I really like Petslover great laugh!!Know who I would LOVE to hear? Poppy, Randi, KAK, Luckies4me, Barbara, and many many others!!
I made another recording, trying to explain my accent. Beware, there is even some Dutch in it!!
Let's hope it works!
I had a feeling that you had travelled some what when I heard your first one Maya's & Inka's mummy. :D
And cloverfdx, another aussie accent, woohoo! :D
Oggyflute
I just want to say that I've been a Paul Hogan fan for years and you do sound just like him. You remind me of this guy that used to work in my office. "David" was Auzzie and was the cutest thing on two legs. He had a shining smile, sweet dimples and he used to ride his bike to work. He'd come into the office wearing these tight little spandex biking shorts and he had the cutest little.....
...oh dear, was I fantasizing again??? Sorry...:o
I love listening to everyones voices, it's so cool how we have so many people with accents!! keep them coming!
So, everybody understood my Dutch so far ;) :p :p
OK..I made it LOL...I recorded my voice..though my mic is crap, and sound is not the best...sorry for that!!
BTW - Everyone has really nice voices and it´s cool to hear you ;)
I can hear Rhiannon's .avi file as well, but still none of the .wav files. Rhiannon, I think you have a pleasant voice :)
Edit: If I right click the attachments and save them to my computer, I can then open and play them. I'll have to listen to all of them later when I get done with work :D
I couldn't resist and listened to a few now :p. Slick, you sound like most native Minnesotans sound too. I suppose proximity to Canada makes it leak over :D.
I was borin in Florida, lived in Colorado from age 1 to 8, lived in the Ozarks from 8 to 18, lived in northern Missouri for 9 out of 12 months from 18 to 20, back to the Ozarks for about another year and a half, and then in Minnesota for the past 8 years or so. Having been in so many different regions, I don't *think* I have any definite accent. I will sometimes say a particular word in the Ozarks or Minnesotan manner without thinking though :p
Jessica, right click the attachments and press "Save target as." That should work! :)
Edit: Never mind, I see you've got it!
I love hearing everyone!!
PCB, what are you talking about?! I don't think you sound californian! Maybe it's just me. :p
Robin, Yayyy! You sound exactly like i thought you would. To answer your question before, I would record me, but i don't have a mic! I need to get one though. Just ask Julie, Logan or someone else who's heard me how i sound...... I know for sure i don't have an accent! LOL! :p
I don't think you have an accent lol. :p At first I thought that you would sound like Micki, because you are both from the South, but I guess not lol.Quote:

Are you sure I still sound like an Aussie? come on guy's really listen hard, NO WAY. lol:D
Carole :D, hehe no aussie accent there. Now i have to go back and listen to the rest of them.
I love your accent:D I don't think you sound like an Aussie, somewhat similar but I can tell the difference:)Quote:

I definatly hear the difference -- if I were to hear you and not know what your accent was, I would probably think you were English lol.
Accent? Really? I swear I can't hear any accent at all:)Quote:

awww slick. :o
See I knew if you guy's listened hard enough you would pick up the difference, wolfsoul, you got it right, because my parents are not Kiwi's I have picked up a slight different accent to a typical Kiwi, Oggyflute noticed it too, a bit of both in there I guess he he.
Keep them coming,it is awesome to put voices to faces on both the let's hear you and let's see you threads.:)
I have been enjoying these clips - and especially your kiwi:D
Now, do you think you could try to fake an American accent? Actors do it all the time, but I am not sure I have ever heard a faked *american* accent:p
Ok then I am up for the challenge, now you can all have a good laugh on me for the morning, here I am attempting a bad impression of an American. lol:)
Yay!! Carole you could fool any american!! That was great!!!:D
Really Debbie or are you just being nice lol, I think I could do better, but I will not attempt another try as I am getting confused am I scottish, English, American or Aussie or really a kiwi ????lol.:D
Nope Carole, I am serious. If I heard you, I would wonder what part of the USA you were from and I hear a hint of *something* but I would not think you were from another country at all! Good job. The first part - you sound like a Californian with a bit of valley girl. I could hear more at the very end that sounded british. Some words maybe a tiny bit off but you would pass. You must hear us on the news and stuff:D
Yes Debbie we get lots of American Televison and secretly I love the American accent, would love to talk like you guys, yes I started talking normal towards the end, forgot what I was doing, it was a fun attempt anyhow., now maybe you should try a Kiwi accent, who is brave enough huh?:)
That was really good. :D I could hear a bit of an accent on some words, but you did very well.
I think I will make a recording of me trying to sound Australian lol.
You GO GIRL, I am waiting, not brave enough to master the Kiwi one eh? just kiddin, waiting patiently waiting........:D
I so enjoyed listening to y'all this morning...Can't find my mike...but will try to get it done this weekend...but if you know what Reba McEntire sounds like, you will know what I sound like...that is who every one says I talk like. I am from Arkansas actually..lived there for 37 years and moved to Texas in 99...so Texans think I have an accent..lol..but I guess I sound a "little" more country than they do here..I get made fun of all the time...but I am used to it.
I tried the Australian accent and sounded liek an idiot LOL.
Here is Jynnelle and I. See if you can tell us apart. I'm the manlier sounding one LOL. We always laugh because everyone says we sound exactly alike, except I have a deeper and louder voice...like a man lol.

I figured out how to do it. :) Just right click and press "save target as." That should work for you!Quote:

oh, sorry, I just listened to them all then made my own. I don't think I can attatch it here though because when I transfer stuff onto my computer from my camera(I don't have a mic) it automattically goes into the kodac easyshare thingy which won't let me save videos for some reason.:( It was really fun listening to everyone else though!
My accent is a bit mixed up - South Africans can usually pick up that I am not a "native" South African, but I have really lost my Scottish accent!!
Some other South Africans who you may have heard speak are:
Anand Naidoo, Tumi Makgabo and Jane Dutton on CNN and Jane Hicks on BBC International. Also if you want to hear a South African put on an American accent just listen to Charlise Theron!!!
Here is me saying HI - and as Lut ended her greeting in Dutch, I have ended mine in AFRIKAANS - do any of our Dutch-speaking members understand me?????
Hey Julie, how nice to hear your voice!! I did understand most of your Afrikaans! You eneded with "gelukkige dag verder", right?
LOL, I love that Afrikaans, it sounds so much like the local dialect I still speak with my family, called "Westvlaams". Thanks Julie!!
Julie that was so cool, you do sound very south African to me, I always think the S.A is a very unique accent, like a mixture of British, Kiwi, and then a touch of something else which makes it so distinct from any other accent.
Your accent doesn't seem as broad as some Sth African friends of ours Julie. There was definately a bit of scottish in there. :D
I agree oggyflute Julie's is not so broad, and a bit of a mixture, but I canna say I heard the scottish dialect in there terribly much, what you reckon Julie? have you still go it, if so why not post a lovely scottish accent, Killearn Kitties would be great to hear, hope she posts her lovely scottish accent.;)
Try checking a folder probably located in"my Pictures" which says "kodak". This will hold all the things that you have downloaded from your camera, it's headed by date. You will probably have a little luck in there attaching things.Quote:
