Angie ~
So Sorry :( you felt left out - certainly wasn't intentional!
I remember petting BOTH Buddy and Sierra...
And I think I had Buddy on the leash for a while.
Leaving a dog behind is TOUGH - I had to do that with Cinder
when I was visiting Mom - Smokey was "welcome" in the Village as
a Therapy Dog - but ole Cinder  *snapped* once -
and got herself "un-welcomed" forever :(.
So on super-Hot or -Cold days when she couldn't stay in the car -
she had to stay home and :p Kat-Sit with the Boots.
If you're not comfortable with bringing Buddy - isn't there SomeOne
that could Dawg-Sit and Play with him for the day -
and let you bring Sierra?
Or Bring-a-Friend with you - and take turns
wandering around the Park with Buddy -
there's LOTS of trails in the woods
across the road from the Bark Park.
I'd like to hear some *Thoughts* from others about how to "handle"
the *snappers* - has anyone actually USED a muzzle on a dog?
Might not be totally *phunn* for he or she who has to *wear* it -
but it would be better than staying home!
You're NOT *alone* with this problem, Angie - and we'd ALL love
to see you and BOTH Kids back at the Gathurin.
I think we should be able to come up with a workable solution!
;)

Angie,
It is good that you have shared your feelings with us. It was difficult that day with so many locals and pet talker dogs in the park to get around visiting with everyone. I am sure no one meant to make you feel left out. I guess because I usually bring 3 (and leave 2 at home) that I spend so much time making sure mine are behaving that I sometimes don't get around to visiting as much as I would like to. I think because I am from Findlay I felt responsible for what happened at the park. Because of some things that have happened with the Park board I no longer feel that way - all though I do feel I have to keep an eye on my 3some to make sure Snoopy isn't barking too much or jumping on people, and Taggert isn't finding baby bunnies and hurting them and Jack isn't growling because someone is trying to share his space under the picnic table. I really think you should try it again. As Phred said I am sure we can come up with a workable solution with Buddy.
One thing I have also found in any group situation is that sometimes that lots of people are shy or hesitant in knowing how to begin conversations with newer people. I think of myself as shy, I know others see me as standoffish. Just because you didn't feel comfortable that day that it meant anything about you personally or your dogs. As in any group, it sometimes is easier some days than others to talk to everyone. Please come back as soon as you can!
I too, am sorry you felt that way Angie.
I remember coming over to pet Buddy a few times, but I don't rememeber how much I talked to you when I did...I too am fairly shy with new people and do better talking to their dogs.
And like my mom said, I felt a certain responsibilty to watch all the dogs since my name was on the pavilon reservation. I think I sort of neglect talking to most people becuase of that....and trying to keep track of my three, making sure Spot isn't humping Huney, or Sadie isn't being too rough with anyone. And well, Cincy is usually just laying around so she's pretty easy to watch :)
We did enjoy having you there, and I hope you will give us another chance. I'm sure we can thinkof something for Buddy, even if some of us take turns walking him outside the fence.
Angie,
I too am glad you made your feelings known.
Ask anyone there, I'm not usually one to start conversations (or talk much during a conversation). I mostly play with all the dogs:D I don't know if that makes me more "unlikeable" since I'm not talking much, just playing:p
But either way, I love going and so do the girls and I bet your two would love to come back (and hope you do too)!
Angie, if you come to the one in May (the Memorial Day weekend one, Paul and I will be there, and we'd love to meet you and your doggies. We won't be bringing any dogs (and Miss Hoppy stays home to guard the house) so we're free to mingle with whomever! Sorry you had a not-great time, and it's always up to you, but the invitation IS open. For a second or so, I wondered if we'd feel out of place with no dogs as our responsibility, but we were made quite welcome even before I opened the Pupperoni.
...
Of Playing with the Dawgs ~ more than
we pay attention to the Hoomins!
We'll all do better on May 30 - That's a Promise! :)
And think about the Bring a Friend idea -
good company on the drive;
and you can swap off Dawg-Sittin and Socializin! ;)
And Hey Angie ~ You can Meet the Mayor, too!
An her Faithful Companion - MISTER Pet Talk!

Angie :(
Your post brought tears to my eyes. Since I'm not a part of the Ohio meetings, I can't comment but I send feel-better *****HUGS*****
PMing you Angie, I hope you accept it.
:)
It doesn't look like Lauren and I will be coming in the end of May....
BUT--- I mentioned it to my dad and he seemed interested (he asked me when..and I told him about registration and such.)
Then my mom mentioned how she wants to go to MI this year -- sometime around the fourth of July.. and said we could maybe make a meeting around that time.. Well see. :)
I'm printing out the registration form for Findlay now. ;)
Hooray! I finally got my pictures on here. Ok, lets get right to it!

Oh I was so hoping to see you in May. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that you will be able to make it sometime this year.
Robin :)
I was thinking it's Roxey also. They looked so much alike! I think Star was a tad bit bigger though. Oh, Anna!!!Quote:

Great pictures, Robin!!! You got the Spotty boys right!!
Oh, Amber, I wish you wouldn't feel that way. Of course we would want to talk to you. I would love it if you came. I brought Dee Dee with me and I'm pretty sure she had a good time. Dee Dee is 12 and she seemed to do well with the adults. Most of all she loved the dogs and playing with them. Which is what it was all about for her. Most importantly, if your parents ever let you come, you should give it a try. You won't ever know unless you come. I also consider myself a shy and quiet person. I may be able to get on here and chat like crazy but in person I get nervous and am afraid people won't like me and I am not very good at making conversations. I do have to admit that I am getting better at it and that is because I finally realized that I also have to be willing to make the effort. I have learned that I can't stand back and just expect people to come to me. They don't know I'm shy and nervous they might think I am just being stand-offish. It is hard, I know! I mean it has only taken me close to 40 years to figure this out....lol. In this case remember that you are at a dog park with pet talk people and if you can't think of any conversation or small talk you can always talk about the furkids...lol...that one always works! I was scared to death the first time I went, but I knew I loved seeing all those dogs and watching Katie run with them. I thought it was awesome. I also got to meet Karen and Paul the pet talk founders. That was exciting! This last meeting was my third one and I have felt more comfortable at each one. The people are great! So nice and willing to help out if you need it. My Katie acted like a big butthead that day and no one made me feel bad or gave me disapproving looks and if you have read any of the posts here they have already told me to bring her back and try again and we will figure something out. Super, Super Nice People! Just think I wouldn't have got to find that out if I had not went that first time and went back again and AGAIN! Ok, I will stop now. See I can get really chatty on here...lol...so much easier to do for some reason.Quote:

Angie, if you are reading this. I really do hope that you will come back and give us another chance. Buddy and Sierra are beautiful and I would love to see them again. BOTH of them! I also miss their pics here on Pet Talk. Please give it another try.
Robin :)
Yay! I was pretty sure I had that right. But...I couldn't find a single pic of Cincy :( I thought I took several pics of all the dogs. Cincy gets double camera time next visit!Quote:

Oh and I forgot to post the album it is HERE
Robin :)
I'm almost positive that we'll be going. My dad knows not to break promises with me, and he wouldn't say anything about it unless we were going. Atleast that's how it's been from past experience. :pQuote:

Great pictures Robin! Loved all the ones of Taggert and Snoopy playing tug of war.
LOL..OMG..I actually didn't notice Spot...hehehe. I was too busy trying to figure out which husky was which. :p
I didn't notice Spot either. :o :o
That silly boy! :o
What great shots you got at the park Robin!
Yep, your right...it is Roxey:D And that's the second shot we got of the all popular Huney being "loved":p
This was the other

Kay, I really hope you'll be able to come this year!!!!
I guess everyone has a 'thing' or two for Huney!
I hope so too! :D
And I hope Simba was as good as last year if we do come.
Robin you got some really GREAT shots!!!! :D
I just wanted to add...when I went to the meeting, I was also one of the younger people and I'm very quiet. I probably came off as snobby/stuck up to some (I get that a lot) but it wasn't intentional, I'm just shy. However everyone was very friendly with me and I had a GREAT time. Nebo was being a bit of a brat too (and he's very talented at spilling all the water! :o ) but nobody was rude to me or anything like that. I would absolutely go again if I could, and to those who are *thinking* about going...you should! And those who tried and don't want to go again, that's unfortunate...maybe give it another try? It's always hard meeting people for the first time!
I was so nervous to meet everyone.. Remeber on the way there Amy?
It was like and excited/nervous feeling.
I didn't talk much either.. I just kind of stuck around with my dad or Amy and Melissa.
