LOL I think i just might Carl. One thing i know is I will be sleeping a little bit easier tonight. What a pair of troopers Miss Daisy and Perry are.:D
I was gone this weekend, but I was thinking about Daisy and Perry! Checking here was the first thing I did when I came home! I'm so glad to hear they are doing better, and that Daisy is HOME!!! Wow!
Gosh, a newcomer with absolutely the best news ever!
Thank your for telling us that Miss Daisy is home......one down and one to go!
If you have two Schnauzer's that own you.............you fully understand what they are going through.
Welcome to Pet Talk and thank you so much for sharing.
Gini and Rascal
Oh, what wonderful news!!!! Thank you, Lord!!!!!!!! I'm laughing and crying for JOY!!!!!!!!!
Now let's keep those prayers going for Perry and for all to be able to REST and RECOVER!
I'm new to Pet Talk, had only just joined when this happened. I found Pet Talk by way of Jackie's site. When Jackie's site was down for updating on Saturday, I was beside myself with worry about the four of them until I remembered - Pet Talk!!! I immediately logged on and have been keeping up with the news. Thank you everyone for the updates and the outpouring of LOVE for Perry, Daisy, Jackie, and Don!
God is SO GOOD!!!!!
WELCOME HOME, MISS DAISY!!! PERRY, YOU'RE NEXT, YOU SOLDIER!!!!!!!!
OH THANK GOD
I have been worrying about them all day!
I am so glad to be encouraged.
Will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
Jackie,
My dad said he would come out and take careof them for you! (the pits) But it was along the lines of what Don wanted to do. Midwestern/Redneck Justice.
WE LOVE YOU
Just wanted to bring this fwd--I think it's a very valid point--should we start a "fund" to help cover vet costs?Quote:

I have been out all evening. I received the same email Carl did and a second one with pictures a few minutes ago. Here are copies of both of Jackie's emails. I'm going to attempt to post the pictures shortly, but will probably do a second topic so they won't take so long to load.

Hi Logan, GOOD NEWS, GOOD NEWS, GOOD NEWS you will never believe this. They released Daisy today, we have pain pills to give her, pain patch on her and antibiotics for her. I couldn't believe it~ The Vet said she is ready to go home, but he will have to reevaluate her shoulder for surgary or not. Perry has to stay for a while but is doing really good. I'm going to send you some pictures in a while that you could put on the Pettalk if you want to, I don't know how to do it. LOL Old and Dumb.lol
I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate what you and Carl were going to do, but it looks like we will be O.K. I don't think it will be necessary as our youngest Daughter Lorie paid 1,000 of the bill and we can easily take care of the rest as Frank and Colleen and Sharon our oldest want to help too. Please let everyone know how much we appreciate what they were going to do and if they want to do something perhaps they could make a donation to someplace like "Best Friends"
Oh Logan I am so excited, please tell everybody and Perry looked so good, he was standing up and the swelling was down and he looked so much stronger.
Carl, you are just the best man, Maggie is so very lucky. I got Don to join PetTalk too, at some point he wants to come in to both places and say thanks for the wonderful messages.
I will be spending a lot of time caring for Daisy now, but I think she will be by my computer again before long while I type. lol
Love you all
Jackie and Don
Second message, after midnight tonight:
This will be short but sweet. lol Daisy came home today and I'm a little nervous as she has some raw wounds and still in pain with her shoulder and leg. But she has been sleeping a lot.
Perry is still in the hospital but he is really doing well too. He was standing strong today and breathing better.
I am sending a few pictures we took. I'm sorry it is so late for you, everyone just left.
We got a wonderful Fathers Day present from our kids, they paid the complete Vet bill to date, we didn't want them to but they insisted. Guess we were pretty good to them when they were little. LOL
I'm sending you the pictures because I don't know how to post them. lol
Have a good night
Love
Jackie and Don
I was so glad to hear the latest progress reports after getting home from Dad's day with family. And so glad to read someone else's concerns over safety and expenses.
I did email one local news station AND the Mayor's office yesterday. My email subject was "Pitbull attack in San Diego." My take is that there should be legal ramifications beyond "tresspassing", and that irresponsible people should not have dogs, especially potentially dangerous ones. We all know if a child had been attacked, the media and the City would have been all over it!! Well, just as humans who attack animals are considered potential abusers, this scenario also fits the bill as far as I am concerned.
So, with my limited knowledge of how to send links correctly, if anyone is interested, here is another way to help where there is strength in numbers:
In San Diego, CBS News is Channel 8: www.kfmb.com (this is the only one I sent the story and my concerns to); ABC is Channel 10: www.thesandiegochannel.com; NBC is Channel 7/39: www.nbcsandiego.com; Fox is Channel 6:www.fox6.com.
The San Diego Union/Tribune is www.signonsandiego.com and the City Gov't page is www.sannet.com.
There are way too many people that think they're beyond any responsibility to their community and neighbors.
Logan I thought about posting the email, but decided not to as that one paragraph in there destroyed me! I am not that great! I just love little furballs!! All animals really!
Carl
I have posted the pictures in a second topic. It is so good to see them......bless their little hearts, and yours too, Jackie and Don. And your children's. What a great family you all are. :)
Thanks, Kohala, for posting those news and government web addresses. I'm sending my letters now! This needs to get some attention, not only to prevent a repeat performance in the future, but to honor Jackie and Don, and Perry and Daisy, and try to bring some justice.
Praise the Lord!!!!!
I did not want to check PT untill after church today because I wanted to do some hard prayin for those pups.... and I can't believe my eyes how great the news was!!! God is so good and those pups are so strong and I wont get off my knees untill those pups are back to their old selves and I KNOW BY GOD'S GRACE IT CAN HAPPEN. We love you Jackie, Don, Perry, and Daisy!! Were sending hugs and prayer your way!!! :D :)
What amazing comebacks! I'm so happy for Jackie and Don.. God is good, folks!!! :D
Oh, this is the most wonderful news!!!:):):) I spoke for quite a while with Jackie yesterday afternoon before heading off to the hospital. She was actually preparing a homemade meal for Daisy as our little girl was gaining some of her ole spunk back and was turning her nose up at that nasty "hospital food!":D Jackie was so STRONG, and upbeat and cautiously optimistic about their recovery. What an amazing woman! I wanted to cry and instead we had a lovely conversation full of laughter and hope! I can't believe the wonderful news I awoke too. Jackie did mention that she would be taking pics if allowed! How wonderful to see their beautiful faces. Their battered bodies are on the mend and I know that Daisy's best medicine was coming home to Mom, Dad and the "big bed!" Hopefully, Perry will be following his sister's lead and be back with his best friend, his Dad, very soon! I am so thrilled for you Jackie and Don! What a wonderful way to start the day, hearing such terrific news! What a blessing! What a happy Father's Day, what a MIRACLE!! All my love to you Jackie, Don, Daisy and Perry!!
This is wonderful news....praise the Lord! Seeing Perry standing was so encouraging and Daisy being able to come home to her Mommy....is just the greatest. And Sandra, you are so right..being home will be her best medicine. Just two days ago things were looking pretty bleak, but now there is hope for a good recovery. It won't be easy and both dogs probably have considerable pain and weakness, but with the loving care they are going to have, the medical resources available, time and God's love, they CAN RECOVER. Life may never be the same but it will be good for them and for Jackie and Don. And our prayers will continue. Prayers for continued recovery, prayers for freedom from pain...and prayers of gratitude for this miracle.
Oh my! I was gone away from Pet Talk for a weekend and I missed so much. I am glad to read that the precious ones are doing better and that Daisey is home already. I am certain that Don and Jackie will take great care of lil Daisey and speed her up on her road to recovery.
Certainely she misses her brave brother, Perry. But he is a strong one and will recover soon, God willing and be back home with his dear family in no time!
Jackie and Don, I can not tell you how sad and heart broken I am. Just this weekend I saw a black Schnauzer and thought of your family. Reading the post was the most difficult thing I have had to do in a very long time. I had to shut the door to my office and cried my eyes out. I can not begin to imagine how much pain youtwo are going through. Daisey and Perry are very lucky to have you. I feel like something horrible has happened to my own Draker. I love the schnauzers like they were my very own dogs. I am sure everyone at Pet Talk does.
Please know that they will be in my prayers and thoughts.
Love, Souraya
This makes me so happy, you can't know. Jackie and Don, you have been through so much and you have been in my thoughts. What great kids you have...you did something right raising them! God is great isn't He? We have our own little miracle right here on Pet Talk. My heart feels so much better today!
WELCOME HOME DAISY!!!
I am glad you are home with mom and dad and can get extra loving to get better faster. I am sending you a special get well bouquet just for you!
http://www.snap-shot.com/pictures4/flower116.JPG
We are still praying for your complete recovery and special prayers for Perry to come home soon too!
God does answer prayers! Thank you Lord for hearing and answering all of our prayers!! :D
WELCOME HOME MISS DAISY!!!
IT'S SO WONDERFUL TO KNOW THE LITTLE LADY IS BACK WHERE SHE BELONGS, IN THE ARMS OF HER LOVING MOM AND DAD AND, WITH GOD'S HELP IN ANSWER TO OUR PRAYERS, THE GREAT PERRY WILL JOIN THEM VERY SOON
This has been quite an emotional morning for me. I am so happy that Miss Daisy is home getting pampered by her mom and dad, but I am just so heart-sick at the pictures I saw of them. You can put me on the list of people who want to "take care of" the pits for you. Dogs like that, although it was entirely the owners' faults for not socializating or training them, have no right being alive. They are a threat to society and I have such anger towards them and their stupid owners. I care about Jackie, Don, Perry and Daisy so much and it feels almost like one of my family members were assulted needlessly. I am just sickned.
Jackie, please kiss that sweet Daisy for me. Tell her that the pain will soon be over with and she'll be feeling better in no time with your tender loving care.
Prayers are still being sent to Jackie, Don, Perry & Daisy. May you all continue to improve.
http://w1.501.telia.com/~u50108667/pochacco.gifI'm doing the happy dance cause Miss Daisy is home!! YAAAAAAAA!!!!! Now, for Perry, I'm sure he'll be home soon too! You both rest and get better, so your mom & dad don't have to worry so much:)
:)

Cinder & Smokey, You guys are precious!! I believe you 2 have a pretty direct line with the Big Guy so just keep on a keeping on doing what you are doing!!
Carl
What wonderful news! I asked God to keep sweet Daisy and Perry surounded by His healing angels until they are both home safe. (I'm sure Cinder and Smoke's prayers really got the Big Guy's attention though). I will continue prayers for Perry and Daisy until they are both home and all well. I knew the dogs before I ever found Pet Talk. I remember their Dog of the Day pictures. I was checking out the Pets of the Day long before I even knew about Pet Talk. I'm so blessed to have found both. Daisy, your sweet self will bring much joy and comfort to your parents I'm sure. Sir Perry will be home soon to keep you company. Good news, indeed.:)
Oh, I am so glad to read these good news! Jackie and Don, you truly are great parents for Daisy and Perry. I am so glad they are doing better.
I don't know you Jackie or Don, only from what Jackie has posted, and you two just have golden hearts. You have got to be one of the nicest people in the world. Daisy and Perry are lucky to have you. They are truly amazing dogs and we all love them here very dearly.
My english vocabularity isn't large enough to express my feelings better, but let's just put it this way: I and my husband (and even Casper and Kitty) are SO HAPPY that Daisy and Perry are doing better. YIPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Lots of hugs from us all!
I would say your English is amazingly good and your thoughts are well put and seconded my many.
HOW WONDERFUL!!! I am so relieved that Daisy is home and Perry is doing better. I was so worried at work today and I have not access to the internet there. Thank you God for answering our prayers and helping those two brave pups out! Keep watching them please!

NOW THE GOOD NEWS
Dr. Valentine ( he is so kind, he has a perfect name) told Don Perry was doing well and just maybe he could come home tomorrow. :) :D He told Don you really love that dog don't you? Don said of course I do. He said well I was watching you through the one way window combing him and talking and loving him.
Then they put Perry on the table and Don said he took about a 5 minute pee and ate like a horse.
Daisy is doing well at home, she wouldn't eat for a while, but tonight she ate really good. She don't like taking her medicine and not good at drinking water so I dip my finger in the water a million times and she licks it. What we won't do for our pups. lol
It makes me sad to see her limp so bad, but the alternative is worse. Dr. Valentine said not to put her in the big bed, in case she fell, but this afternoon she and I spent a few hours on the big bed since I could watch her and she loved it. She def don't like the megaphone she has to wear. She is back to her independent self, no kisses for me, but plenty for our Grandson, Chris. lol
We know we love our pets, but we really don't know it until something threatens their life. I have to say I felt guilty for what happened to them, I was always telling Daisy don't worry, I will never let anything happen to you when we were in bed. We never even took them for walks in the Neighborhood for fear of them being attacked, let alone attacked in their own yard.
Please, please never take anything for granted, be aware, make sure your pet is safe and show them all the love you can give.
Again thank you all so much for your love and devotion.
Jackie
This is such great news! I am soo happy! I knew they could pull through!:) :) It just keeps getting better and better!:)
Jackie and Don -- What wonderful news that Daisy is home and Perry is getting close to that. I'm so happy for you!! It's awful to see your furchildren in the hospital and to wonder what you could have done differently to keep them safe, but with other people around that don't care about their animals as much as Pet Talkers do, it's hard.
Will keep prayers going and fingers and paws crossed that they both make full recoveries and are with you for years to come.
Wish the folks with the Pitbulls were at least nice enough to offer to help with the bills, but since they're in subsidized housing, suspect they can't afford their own dogs really, let alone the consequences of their dogs' actions. Maybe some prayers for those folks would be useful, too. Forgiveness is not always easy, but is necessary for peace and a right life.
Hope to see more good news in the next day or two. Go Perry and Daisy!!
I am so glad to hear good news... although I haven't been able to post, I have been sending out good thoughts and prayers, and kept informed by Cincy's Mom. What wonderful parents you are! Give Daisy and Perry some luvin from our gang!
SO glad to hear KFMB contacted you - and sooo glad to see other San Diego posts - I see lots of the terrific animal loving people who talk here have been emailing to local e-addresses! We who live here and put up with a LOT of this type of thing (yes, others I know have experienced this - in "America's Finest City" -!) really appreciate the energy you, Jackie, and Don, and Miss Daisy and Perry, have inspired!! It must be working and I sure hope the media will get all over City Gov't (especially Animal Control) about this. A lot of my co-workers and friends have been sending their prayers and emails, both to media and Govt in your family's behalf! I hope they'll start checking in to this site soon - they'd love all you wonderful people. We don't like to see this kind of suffering due to negligence in our city, or anywhere, for that matter!!!Quote:

Our prayers are very much with you as we await further news on Miss Daisy and that wonderful little hero, Perry.
He is my wallpaper these days, I love looking at his dignified little face! Since I can't post at work, I find myself so eager to get home and share with y'all.
Noserubs and purrs from Grasshopper to Miss Daisy and Perry
I am so sorrry to hear about what happened to Perry and Daisy. I have been out of town and just read the awful news.
I will pray right now before I go back to bed. I feel so bad about this.
Kohala, thanks so much, us Navy people have to stick together.
The interview yesterday was with KUSI and the interviewer said the guy next door was pretty nice, (never has asked about our dogs) said he was going to pay Vet bills(his girlfriend is on section 8 and he lives with her with two kids and three pitbulls)
said he was going to fix the fence (our son fixed it for us) would not give us the name of the owner of the house, we went through the county records. etc. etc. The interviewer sounded like he was going to take care of all this, I was not very happy with what was said, made him sound like a responsible person which he is not.
Just wanted to say Perry is home and he slept right by my bed.
I think he did well, moaned a little, sat up sometimes, but slept well, he really is a fighter. When he came in the house the first thing he did was jump up on Don's rocker before we could stop him. We can still feel a little air around his neck, but I think it will take time. He is eating well, pooping and peeing. lol He is a little strange, has to get used to everything again and I think he misses Daisy.
I called about Daisy about 4:00 and they said she is doing well.
Her temperature is now normal, will not eat, but that is to be expected, we will get to go see her this morning.
Thank you all again, we hope to continue having good news from now on and I hope to have a good nights sleep soon. lol
Jackie
Jackie,
Great news! Glad that Perry is slowly but surely going to get better. When does Daisy come home?
When I read that your neighbor was going to pay the bills and fix the fence, I really doubted his sincerity. I think it was all for the camera. If he lives wih his girlfriend and she is on section 8, how can he afford to pay?
Hang in their Jackie... We Love you! Hopefully knowing we are behind you will help you have more strength to get through this. And prayers are still unceasing! When you look at Perry, you are looking at one of God's miracles! Try to focus on that now and not the lies that the neighbor is portraying.
Jackie, did you or any of your family tape that TV segment? The part where the guy said he would pay for your vet bills may come in handy if you have to go to court on this. Strange he could say that to a camera and never come over to say it to YOU!!!
I also wonder which of the two actually owns the pit bulls...him or her? I wonder who is on the lease? Are these dogs licensed...have all their shots?
I agree with Souraya, this sounds like a ploy to me. The interviewer sounds like he is a little bit bias to the other owner. I hope that our letter and others that are being written will have an effect.
I'm sooooooo glad that Perry is home. He probably will be a little weird for awhile...that was an incredibly traumatic thing he went through and contrary to what most people say, I believe that dogs have a really long memory about things like that. I'm sure with all of yours and Don's love Perry will come through with flying colors. I'm also encouraged by Daisy's news...it sounds like she is also on the road to recovery.
Keep us posted.
