Just dug this song up for another thread, wanted to post it here in Mandys thread. It's Mandy by Barry Manilow. It's a cold, rainy night here and like always, I miss my Mandy. The last few days have been difficult and with the holidays I know it will be even worse. Always the sweet memories, but how I wish you were still here Mandy. :(
Mandy
I remember all my life
Raining down as cold as ice
A shadow of a man
A face through a window
Crying in the night
The night goes into
Morning, just another day
Happy people pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
you made me so happy, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
I need you today, oh Mandy
I'm standing on the edge of time
I Walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world of uphill climbing
The tears are in my mind
And nothing is rhyming, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
Yesterday's a dream I face the morning
Crying on the breeze
the pain is calling, oh Mandy
Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Mandy
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Mandy
This is a good idea. It is something how our songs do fit our dogs. It will be a sad holiday, indeed.
Val, maybe a bittersweet holiday. We have other furkids to love and enjoy the holidays with, it's just that special one missing that will be so hard. :( But our RB angels will be with us in spirit with so many memories. I can see myself bawling at the littlest things, I can just see it coming. :(
Chocolatepuppy~ I know that song, and I heard the song while I read your post.
To this very day, I cannot listen to Ray Charles singing his well known song "Georgia", without thinking of my beloved Foxy Jean.
I say now Foxy~~~~~Foooxxxyyyy~
No Peace,------- No Peace can I find,
But an ol sweet song,~~~~~~~ leaves Foxy on my mind.
I say Foxy (piano) , Fooo0xxxyyy, a song of you,
Sounds so sweet and clear, like moonlight on the pines~~~~
Other dogs reach out to me,
And their eyes smile tenderly,
But in "Peaceful " dreams I seeee, The Road~~~ Leads Back ~~~~to YOU~
I say Foxy~~~~Fooooxxxy,
No peace,------ no Peace will I find,
Just an ol sweet song, leaves Foxy on my mind ~~~~~
I say, ---just an ol sweet song, leaves Foxy on my mind.( and I can still see her, parading ahead of me, with her tail curled up so high)
Dukedogsmom~(blows nose, then wipes eyes) Let's pass up on the kleenix this Christmas and actually open up the glorious gift that our Beloved Rainbow Dogs gave to us~ It is so empressive !!!! These dogs will forever be a part of us. ( piano keys,~~ closing of the song) I now feel so whole. I now understand what Christmas can become.
{{HUGS all around}}}}}
Dorothy, you are a sweetheart! :) I can hear you singing that song. ;) There will be quite a few of us having bittersweeet holidays this year, our beloved pet gone...and a new pup in our lives. {hugs} all around.
Yes, I do remember MANDY~( piano keys, hitting the keynboard in front of me)Quote:

I embrace this " Magnificient" ~ Christmas ~
:( You guys have me in tears now! (((hugs chocolatepuppy, dorothy 39, and dukedogsmom))))) Almost one year since my ChowChow kitty joined my Rosie at the RB. And Rosie had a song, too, by Tom Waits. Can't recall the title, but "Rosie" is who he sings about.
I know this has got to be it:Quote:

I imagine I'll be stopping by here at Christmas. I'm sort of boycotting it this year. May 2007 be much happier for us all.
Oh bless you, Val, that's the one! Bye for now?Quote:

Just wanted to post a few pictures of Mandy, these were before I was on Pet Talk. A few were in a video I posted a while back, but most of you probably have not seen them.
When Mandy was a puppy...

she was a gorgeous puppy and a gorgeous dog, Annette! (((HUGS))) even though she is not with you physically..she will be in your heart always where she belongs forever.
I am so sorry for your loss, I am not looking forward to Christmas much this year because of my Ginger. Mandy was beautiful, I know you must miss her greatly, I will keep you in my prayers.
{hugs} to you!
I'm so sorry Annette. She was a beautiful girl. (((Hugs)))
I thought you might enjoy seeing this again. This was February 2005. They are a sweet couple. Don't worry if you cry when you see it. I did.

Thanks everyone, I take one day at a time, like I said the holidays will be very hard :( ..... Val, that's fine, I was just looking at that picture in my scrapbook a few days ago, didn't have it where I could post it. I'm sure Mandy and Duke have met and played together at the Rainbow Bridge.
That Valentine picture brought tears to my eyes...those two are deeply missed but what love they had, what doggie could ask for more.
I was doing pretty good myself, but~ among the decorations that I carefully stored from Christmas 2005, was a felt scarf given to Foxy Jean~ It was neatly placed within a zip-loc bag~ and her HAIR was still clinging to it~ What a Blessing :oQuote:

She looked up at me, while I snapped the camera~ and now, on Pet Talk, I have the " Sacred Blessing "of *Sharing* that Last Photo of her, with you.
This Christmas Holds Such Tenderness for me~( although, Bittersweet)
As though I can smell a Rose during Winter~
Just Hold onto me, My Friends~( This reply was a wee bit difficult, but necessary)
It's going to be a hard one for a lot of us. I kind of dread it.
Dorothy, Foxy Jean sure was a beauty. Thank you for sharing her picture with her scarf. I'm sure it was difficult for you to post. {hugs} It seems to help me to 'let things out'
Yes Christmas will be bittersweet. My prelit tree has been up since last Sunday, no ornaments yet. This weekend I will get them up. It's not going to be easy, the puppy ornaments will be the worst. Sassy, Missy, Lacey and now Layla with her first Christmas must have a Christmas! Mandy will be here with us in spirit, I feel she is always near. So many memories, yes she will be with us. And Foxy Jean will still be with you this Christmas while Jackie has her first Christmas.
It is snowing, we have maybe 3" of snow on the ground. The puppy loves it, so did Mandy. Outside tonight, in the snow, I asked Mandy if it snows in heaven. I'm sure it will for her.
Yes, we will get through this season with fond memories of our RB pups and more memories will be made....
Now you've gone and made me have LES at work. But, not hard these days. I hope it snows in Heaven, too. Duke's never seen snow. I love it.
Sorry Val {hugs} I'm sure it will snow for Duke too, he and Mandy can play in the snow, she will show him how. Sorry, this probably didn't help your LES. :( ...We're all going to get through this holiday season together.
My husband and I cant even bring ourselves to get the christmas decorations out. We just decided this year to put up a small ceramic tree and not really do much, our heart's are just not in it. We can't even put ginger's meds up or do anything with her food dish yet, it still sits where she left it. I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and to all of our babies who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, Merry Christmas, play free, be happy, but know you are forever in our hearts.
LES here aswell... i sure hope it will snow for both Mandy and Duke {{Hugs}}.Quote:

I havn't been back to this thread for a while. Coming back to it I'm in tears.
I'm not saying anyone else on PT's dogs aren't special but Mandy's death actually made me cry (I don't usually cry about things especially if someone died I didnt know in person)
But I really did love seeing Mandy and I love(ed) seeing her in your siggy and avatar. She was so cute and sweet.
In a weird way she reminds me of Thunder and I think thats what makes me most upset.
The Christmas songs are killing me Mandy, I miss you so much... :(

what a beautiful picture of Mandy, Annette. I know how much you miss her. :( (((HUGS))) I know it's going to be hard without her this Christmas. :(
From a Vince Gill Christmas song...
But when the stockings are hung,
and silent night has been sung,
and Christmas is finally here,
It won't be the same this year...
We love you and miss you Mandy... :(

Oh, I know how you feel. The closer it gets to Christmas, the more my heart aches. Fighting back tears now. Your Mandy was a sweet girl. I think these threads help us to honor their memories. I'm hoping they will also take away some of the intense pain. I hope you find some happiness this Christmas. For me, it's all still too fresh.
It's a new year we start out without you. :( But there is happiness in your memories. :) We will go on cherishing your memories and always feeling you are near. How I would love to hug you...one more time. We love you and miss you Mandy.

I just love that pic. What a great smile she had. I know how much you want to hug her and the hurt knowing you can't :(
Mandy, that sweet smiling face gave me a smile as well to start this New Year. I know you'll always be with us in our hearts.
{{HUGS}} Annette.
