Yes folks I sure do, the PT power works its miracle again. :) Thanks to everyone for their support, I just wished we didn't have to go through this experience at all, but at least the outcome is good so far.
Carole, I came home from a very strange evening - not important enough to go into - so your news was exactly what I needed to hear.
Good things CAN HAPPEN to good people. Yes, God does work in mysterious ways............
I know that this has given you the exact lift that you have needed.............
how fast things can change from one day to another.
I am so very happy for you both - you richly deserve this!!
What fantastic news, Carole! I'll bet that is such a relief. :D
Yay! Wonderful news!!! :D :D
What fabulous news!! I am glad your husband stood up for himself! :D
WOO HOO!!
I just read through all that thread and now I have to say: that's a miracle if I ever saw one.
I think it was very good that your husband just didn't behave like a victim but showed his self-confidence in demonstrating what he had done for that company :)
Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!
I was very close to losing my job 2 years ago and in this country I will never again find an employed job as I am over 50- so I know what you are looking at (although I think in NZ it's still better than here;)).
Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Happy dances all around! Congratulations to everyone, especially your husband for being proactive enough to make a difference! Yay!
This is wonderful news, Carole!! I am so very very very happy for you and hubby!!
You know all of this has taught me to be thankful for what I have, we are not well off by any means, and sometimes I feel fed up with it all the struggling one has to do, but when this happened it was a huge blow, and now I feel RICH in every way, and appreciate more what I actually have.
I too cannot believe how our lives changed in one day and then again the next, unbelievable, what actually happened was it was two people from Auckland who came down and told Steve the bad news, but yesterday the man who actually owns the business came down, and steve approached him, his response was well it is not cast in stone you know, and then all his work-mates stuck up for him saying they could not see how the business could function well without Steve as he played a real important role and they all needed him, isn't that fantastic, until then Steve had real no idea how well thought of he was by his work-mates.
Funny thing is I found a great job for Steve to apply for on the internet, and he is seriously thinking of applying, and why not he really owes them no loyalty after this episode IMO, if it pays better and he is offered it , he will take it, it is similar to his present job, but they are looking for someone with mechanical experience, hello he is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, so we shall see the outcome, also we are going to end up with a bit more in our pocket next pay, as the old firm are paying out holiday pay, and then he will still get his holidays this year as well, so all in all we are going to be better off now, and he may not even loose the use of the company van either, this is so weird how things are turning out, all I can say too it is indeed a miracle.,and I feel so blessed.
Bless your heart, Carole...........only you would see it this way.
It must be terrifying to lose your job - when so many in the family depend on you. Your husband sounds like quite a guy - and I am happy that his co-workers stood up for him - and that his boss saw the "light". How you can run a company and be so out of touch with the people that work for you is beyond me. But that is how large corporations are run today - everything is the almighty dollar - the profit - and be damned with the people that made it happen.
I am just happy that our dear friend "down under" is happy again - and looking forward to the future!
We will pray that it stays that way!
Thanks Gini to be honest I don't know how I would have got through it all if it wasn't for my dear PT friends, now I know why I am mean't to be here, this place is so special and people are so dear to my heart.
Gini let me explain , the firm has just been sold, so this is a brand new boss, but yes they should have checked things out better and seen they were getting rid of a person who in actual fact was an asset to the company, his efforts were overlooked, and i am glad and proud of steve for standing up for himself and letting them know just what he actually has done for this company.
Onwards and Upwards Gini :) Now if only I could get some better results with this horrible woman breeding cats galore in my neighbourhood, now that would be the icing on the cake.,still I guess one cannot get too greedy in what we ask for,but it is more for these poor kitties I ask it, NOT myself.
Good grief! I go away for a couple days and so much happens! Loses job...gets job back....finds better job...
so...so sorry and terrific!
I know it has been a roller-coaster ride for us here believe me, our emotions have been one minute extremely low to extremely high, now we just have to settle back into routine lol. ;)
