just jesse
I stand in awe of all you guys with 5 or more dogs.
How do you do it? How do you get the time? How do you have the space?
Just 2 for now. We tried adding a border collie boy to our family recently but Kaedyn made it loud and clear that the next dog must be a female.
Ahh, but your sister gets mad when I say they are my dogs! Just because they spend more time here than at their own home, just because I am the one that feeds them, just because I amthe one who cleans up after them, does not make them mine.Quote:
Who are you kidding? You have 8! Just ask Dakota, Destiny and Sierra
But I think it wouldn't take much to get at least Sierra and Destiny to stay. Sierra definitely is mine when they come home.
Me too! Roscoe is very demanding of our time though, he wants to be center of attention 24/7. Maybe with 5 they keep each other company :)Quote:

I find it's a matter of routine. I have a system worked out for them and it works as long as I stick to it. The dogs all know the schedule and they don't like it when I deviate from it either.Quote:

I feed at about the same time every day. I buy dog food by the tonne twice a year. Not only cheaper, but I never have to run to the store for food. It's always on hand. I hand out medications at the same time. I scoop poop every day. That way it takes 15 minutes instead of all day.
I keep a daytimer and journal just for dog(&cat) stuff. That's where I keep track of who got walked when & where, vet app'ts, any behavior changes, gotcha & birth days, who ran where in the sled team and how they did, ect.
I never planned on 22 dogs, but when I bought my house, I looked for a place with lots of room, no animal control limits and room to expand.

Hey, they spend their time wherever I am. They're my girls! I clean up after them here, I clean the front yard there, occasionally the backyard there, and I help feed them. Just ask Jasmine, she helps too!!!!!! :D :D :D
