We were in Indiana first....about 8 inches of snow. Wonderful. No snow when we arrived in Illinois but it snowed overnight so we woke to a white Christmas!!! Much better than lights on palm trees! ;)
No white Christmas on Cape Cod BUT, as I type, ti's coming down like mad and we're expecting 9 plus inches with 50 mph gusts! Oh well, as they, timing is everything in life! A day late and dollar short:D Can't wait to take pics of the girls out in the snow!
NOW! We finally get snow in Pittsburgh! Not much, about 1 to 2". It's a day late, but at least it looks Christmasy outside.
We got between 4 to 6 inches of snow. I have pictures of Kia playing in it the following morning. I'll get them downloaded tomorrow. :D
Love the pictures!
We had snow! A white Christmas for the first time in I don't know how long! Haven't seen snow here in a few years. I have pictures, but they are not downloaded yet. I'll do it tomorrow.
Ugh, did it snow!:( It was a costal storm so we got the brunt, about 15 inches of wet, heavy snow. Started snowing around dinner time and then the wind kicked in, up to 50 mph gusts. By 7 or 8pm, we started losing power; off two hours, back on for an hour, then off again, all night long. Poor Cody gets totally frantic when the lights, TV all suddenly go off at once, not unlike how dogs who are afraid of thunderstorms act. That along with the howling winds, branches hitting the house, etc., she was inconsolable, pacing, panting, pawing me wanting to go out. You couldn't even see outside for the snow and I was so afraid to let her out...that I wouldn't be able to find her in the woods. The yard is fully fenced but goes way back into the woods. The wind chill was around 10 and she with her Husky fur coat would get cold! I finally gave in and let her out, the lights went on again and I got her back in. Then it started all over again!!! I don't think I slept more than 1 hour at a time. Woke up at 7am, the lights were on then shortly thereafter, out again!!! Finally they came on for good...knock wood...around 10 am. There are whole trees down all over, power lines down, some places don't have electricity, the street lights don't work and even the banks are closed! My beautiful lilacs, hydrangeas, 12 foot high privet hedge are all bent down to the ground:(
Well, there's my answer, Sandra (see my earlier email). I knew you had been dumped on.
Hope the beautiful plants will recuperate from the beating, and that Cody (and you) will have a better night, tonight. :) Stay warm!!!!! Or, better yet, come south! :D
On my way Logan:D I knew I could count on my sountern belle buddy:D
tatsxxx11, I don't envy anyone in your area who has to clear snow! In Pittsburgh, we barely got a trace of snow. It's not even covering the grass! If you have to shovel, TAKE IT EASY! Or come to Pittsburgh.
Well it could hardly be called a ton of snow, but it was still a White Christmas! :D
