I have to have glasses for reading is all. I cannot see anything up close! Just blind as can be, half the time, I have no idea what I am eating unless I prepare it myself of course!

I have glasses; I wear them when I need them. My vision is -1.50. I will be getting contacts sometime next month.
I've been lucky, I have perfect vision (for now) lol!;)
I wear glasses to drive and when I need to see the board/wall in class. :)

I seem to be the only one on here so far that has had LASIK done. Anyone else? Other than cost, has anyone heard really bad stuff about it? I had mine done three years ago. Before that, I was nearsighted with one eye being -3.0 and the other being -3.5. I absolutely love not wearing contacts and glasses anymore. I know the feeling of having to put your glasses on in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or to even see the alarm clock! Anyone out there considering having it done? In my opinion, it is WELL worth it!

By the grace of god I have 20/20 vision, I
do however have retnal scaring,
I lost my eyesite once due to the pink eye
that landed me in the hospital for 2 weeks
Thank god for all of the specialist I had by
my side that pulled me through this !!!!!!!
I was scared to death...I do now know how
and what it is like to be blind...
What an experience
to say the very least about it !!!
6 weeks before
I was ever able to return to work !!!
Thank you God for giving me my eyesight
back !!!!
I wear glasses for driving (reading street signs etc), but I hate wearing them otherwise. I went to a concert last night and couldn't see the first band very well - all I could tell was that there were 3 people, 1 girl and 2 guys, the girl was blonde and she was wearing a purple t-shirt, and one of the guys had long hair and wore an orange t-shirt. Luckily there was a break between that first band and the person I was there to see, so I was able to get my glasses from the car and I could actually make out her eyes, nose and mouth.
I've had the same lenses for 9 years though, so I'm well overdue for a checkup. I wouldn't be surprised if I needed a different prescription lens. I can see pretty well without glasses though. I am short sighted (myopic).
I have to wear glasses.. My eye sight sucks.
I tried wearing contacts, but they always make my eyes really red and irritated, and I've tried like 3 different brands. So, I'm stuck with glasses.
Oh Willie!! :D :D Thanks for the laugh! Sometimes even when I prepare food I still can't tell what it is! LOL!Quote:

my contact lens Rx is -6.00 in one eye and -5.25 in the other. I have glasses but only rarely wear them out of the house. I only wear them to work when I have scratched my eye in my sleep and my contacts are uncomfortable. (frequent occurance, right eye stays open in sleep  )
Getting worse! I can't believe it. I've always had excellent eyesight and I suppose in some irrational corner of my mind, I thought it would always be the same! I'm concious now that I need my eyes tested. I'm finding it almost impossible to focus on very small or faint print in low light levels.
In fact this is a timely reminder to me. I've been meaning to book an eye test for long enough and not done it. I think I'll go and do it right now!
Many years ago I was on a beach in Mexico. I was travelling alone. I too wear prescription sunglasses when in the ocean. I wandered into an undertow. I had to fight VERY hard to escape the undertow. I had to decide which to hold onto....my glasses or my bathing suit. My beach towel was too far away.....I kept my siut, escaped the undertow and my glasses $$$ were sacrificed to the ocean gods....
I would like to have lasik. My biggest concern is going three weeks before without my contacts. I really don't know how to wear glasses!
I *THINK* I remember the lady saying my eyes were -8.7 in both. I really have no idea what that means, but obviously it means I can't see worth crap!!
I also remember her saying that I *could* possibly need bifocals in a few years.
After wearing my glasses for a few months, and the taking them off, I have NO clue how I even was able to walk around my bedroom.
I'd LOVE to have Lasik... we just don't have the money.
I saw an add in the paper... it said "ONLY $999.99 PER EYE!" In big bold print.
I said WOW... what a deal!
