Here's my Rainbow Bridge kitty, Kuhio -- 1985 to 2002 -- Gone, but not forgotten.

Then there is Halo. Adopted from the same shelter that put Kuhio to sleep. She was a stray who had recently given birth. (She's going on 3 years old). No one knows what happened to her kittens. She is turning into a sweetheart but was very wary at first. She used to duck away if you tried to pet her head, but she's coming around. (You can still see her "booby skirt" in this picture).

Then there is Cammie. We adopted her from a no-kill shelter. She was found abandoned in Denali National Park scavaging for food in the October snows. We were told that she was 2 or 3 years old but our vet says she's 12 or 13 judging by her teeth. Actually, I was relieved to hear this because she sleeps so much, I was afraid she was a very sick 2 or 3 year old! Cammie "defines" the word TORTITUDE!

Lastly, there is Pepper. Adopted from the same shelter as Cammie (a year later). Pepper has a profound heart murmur and several adoptions fell through for her because people didn't want to take a risk. We decided that she might not have a long life, but she'll have a good life with us! Pepper is a non-stop action cat! Evidently, someone forgot to tell her that she has a heart condition and is "delicate". She has jumped off our 2nd story deck twice (she can't get out there anymore). She regularly climbs our 10-foot chain-length fence and walks on the top. She is a daredevil and must be supervised at all times because she is determined to pack as much living into her life as possible. She and Halo are becoming best buds. Cammie is happy because now that Halo has a sister about her same age, Cammie can nap for hours and hours, without interruption from the "kids".

This is my baby girl, Josie. She will be 1 year old in October. We adopted her from a shelter when she was only about 5 weeks old. She's been through A LOT of health problems, but she's in perfect health, finally, and I think she loves us as much as we love her!
