DOGRESQ,
I will continue to pray & hope that this
baby can be succesfully treated & cured!!!
Thanks to people like you these forgotten
ones have a good chance at a happy, normal
life! God Love You..Will hold Good Positive thoughts for this little fighter...
WE LOVE YOU HOPE!!
p.s. Glad Hope gets to sleep on the bed...

DOGRESQ,
Hope was meant to find you! She could have wandered aimlessly, dying alone of one of her many problems, or been found by someone who cared less than you do, and neglected in a less-caring shelter.
Moments like these make me believe in fate - this dog was meant to live out the rest of its life, no matter how long or short, in your loving arms!
God Bless You for giving this dog its Heaven on Earth!

I spoke with the vet today and he felt it would be best to just watch Hope. The type of cancer she has has a low to medium chance of recurrence and spreading to other organs of her body. He also said that the tumor she had was hormone based and a lot of the time spaying an animal will stop new tumors from growing. Given her age and her diabetes this was his recommendation. I am going to take her to the eye specialist on Monday to see if her cataracts can be removed. It would be great if she could have some of her sight restored! Wouldn't it be wonderful if she could see all the people that love her and all of the beautiful things around her!? Even if it is for a short time she deserves it!!! Although the news if somewhat hopeful I am still saddened by it all. I know the time I have with her is not going to be enough. But on the other side all that she has given me will be with me the rest of my life and her story will be an inspiration to many people in the future. I will let all of you know how she is doing and get a picture of her posted soon.

DOGRESQ,
Thanks for posting the news about HOPE..
I think the Vet has the right idea about
waiting awhile before any surgery ..
Your plans for cataract procedure is a good
one ! Less invasive and possible immediate
results..I wish that Hope could see you
clearly & also see the grass, trees, and
experience the 'Good Life' all animals
deserve..Thank You again & again for being
her champion!!!
My prayers go out to You Both !!!

Considering everything, that's pretty good news for Hope! Whew--I was so worried about her having a terrible prognosis.
You're a blessing to her, DOGRESQ... :)

Hope is so lucky to have you, Dogresq. No matter how long or short she lives, she has you to show her the best love ever!!!

Sue's right, DogResQ. You are just wonderful! I pray for Hope every night, and thank God that she has you to be there for her!

Dear DogResQ,
I have just read this entire post from top to bottom and feel so many emotions I don't know what to say. I thank God that you came into Hope's life and have been there to show her love and compassion. I would love to see an updated picture of her.
Your compassion is overwhelming and I wish to help you in some small way to help Hope get healthy. Please post an address where I can send a few dollars to help with her medical costs. They must be overwhelming. :( There is an address in an earlier post but I don't know if it's still valid or not.
You are a blessing and I'm proud to say a gift to the human race! Wish there were more people like you out there!!!!!!
Dear Hope..... You are a true CHAMPION and we LOVE you. We thank the Lord that he has brough DogResQ (Julie) into your life. We are wishing you many more years of love with her. You deserve it. :D :D :D

Dixieland Dancer,
Thank you for your kind words and offer to help. The address posted previously is correct. Everyday I look at every inch of Hope's body looking for new lumps and I suppose I will continue to do that for awhile. All of you have been such great support for me and I truly appreciate it! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
THE BEST THING ABOUT MAN AND HIS DOG-IS HIS DOG! :D

Dogresq, I feel so privileged to have "met" you. Keep up the good work. Do you have an updated pic of Hope? It would be wonderful to see how she is progressing. I really admire you for all the help and love you are giving Hope. :) :)

Oh Julie, I'm sooo sorry. I sat and cried for 1/2 an hour after I read about Hope's cancer. I'm sorry I haven't been on, but I've been out of commision and will be for a while. You and Hope are in my prayers. God always pays special attention to those in need....why do you think He brought you and Hope together? I'm sure that Hope is happy now and it sounds like she is gaining weight again...WAY TO GO HOPE! We need to focus on the positive here...no negatives. I am going on the thought that the tumor won't grow since she has been spayed. Maybe we can pray it gone. I will also put prayers in
for her to get some of her eyesight back.
I'm sorry I haven't sent any money yet. Now we have to wait and see what the hospital bills are going to be before we can send any money...but I promise you will get a donation from us. Our thoughts are with you and Hope. Oh, by the way, I knew when we were talking on the phone that you were going to keep her...I'm sure happy you did decide to keep her...you were meant to be together.

Mugsy,
I hope that you are okay and pray for your speedy recovery. I knew too deep in my heart when I saw Hope that she would end up with me. She has brought so much into my life I guess at a time when I needed it the most. I have lost 3 of my best friends in the past year and it has been really hard. Duchess, my rottie who was 9, had a cancerous tumor in her heart. Keisha, my wolf hybrid who was 15 had a tumor in her spine and it paralyzed her. Brandy, my terrier mix who was 11 had cancer in her liver and spleen. I didn't think that I could take in any more dogs and then along came Cyrus a 9 month old beagle who ate
D-CON poisoning and and the person who had him brought him to us vomiting blood. He was another one I did not think was going to make it but he did after 6 weeks of special care. Then along came Bingo, a siberian mix that was abandoned with 35 other dogs when their owner was evicted from his land and abandoned all of the dogs. Bingo was the last one and would go to no one but me and to this day is still that way. Then I got Luna, a 2 year old rottie whose owner that it was cool to chase her with their truck. It took me 11 days to find her(in the mountians) and get her to come to me. And Hope who confirmed the fact that there is a reason things happen. She has brought so much joy to my life and helps me to continue to do rescue work for I see how well she has done and the love and devotion I get from her is second to none. You had mentioned earlier about telling everyone about my others so here we go! Medusa is a 15 year old pitbull that I rescued from a junk yard when she was 2. Pooh Bear is a 7 year old golden retriever that was my mom's dog and when she passed away I brought him to my home. Tripod is a 3 year old three legged pit bull that was being used for fighting. Turbo is her brother and he has brain damage from being either kicked or hit in the head and he has seizures. And last but not least Max is a 12 year old cocker mix that is my husband's dog that joined us when we got married. Oh, and Suka my cockatiel that has only one wing due to cancer. I, like you, have quite a crew but would not have it any other way!!! Thank you again for your support and I will let you know how it goes tomorrow with the eye specialist. Hope thanks all of you for your prayers and thoughts! :D

Well, you're more than welcome Hope...you deserve all the prayers you get. I swear you are an angel sent to us to show us what spirit can achieve. I hope all went well with the eye doctor. Julie, you're not far behind either. As always you are all in my prayers.

I just could not bring myself to look at the photo of Hope, I'm not strong enough to do that, but I have read all the posts here and I don't know what to say, I just thank God that there really are people in this world that truly care, like everyone who has posted here. In my wildest imagination I could never think anyone could dump a living, breathing animal on the side of the road to fend for itself. I will hope and pray with everything in me that Hope has found peace and love and know that she will be with a wonderful family.
Lizbud, as I'm sitting here I am crying for the little girl who tried to save her dog from that same fate. How tragic that was, the love between father and daughter could never be the same. The love the little girl had for her dog and lost will always be the wedge between them. I know you are a stronger person, but that memory will never go away.

Good news and not so good news. Good news is the eye specialist feels he can remove Hope's cataracts and have a good portion of her vision restored. She is on aspirin and eye drops for a month due to the inflammation in her eyes and then she will go in for tests on her retina's to make sure there has been no damage and if there is no damage she will have the surgery. The not so good news is this morning Hope was not acting herself and I took her to the vet and her blood glucose had gone way up. Why we don't know. So she will have daily blood tests to see if we can get it back under control. She is such a trooper!! She just stands there and lets them draw her blood and she doesn't move, doesn't bite and still wags her little tail. I know I keep repeating that she is such an amazing animal but she just keeps going as if nothing is standing in her way. Hopefully tomorrow I will have better news on her diabetes.
