I haven't had the heart to reply until now...
Thelmer, you cute furry bundle of trouble, I wish you all the best in finding a new furever home. Hopefully, Miss Ashley and Mister Julian will be able to welcome you into their lives.
Rottieluver, while I can't say I'm exuberant over your choice, I think it is wise and fair to Thelmer. I applaude you on being so grown up about the situation. I wish I were in a position that I could take her--but that's not possible at this point in time. I would like to offer some "food for thought"...
1. It's nearing the big Easter "throw away" ie. shelters are soon going to be filling up fast with unwanted "easter bunnies." I BEG YOU (with tears in my eyes) TO PLEASE (if Ash is unable to take her) consider taking Aly up on her offer. I know Aly works at a cat/dog shelter but she has ties to the bunny shelter located in Austin. She might have some pull into getting Thelmer in if all cages are full. And on that note, if Ash is unable to take her, get her to the shelter ASAP while there is still available space.
2. (again if Ash is unable to take her) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not 'advertise' her as FREE. Charge a fee, $15.00 or so. If you run a "free" ad (and I don't mean to be harsh but I'm telling the truth) you might as well advertise her as food --either snake* or human. (Unfortunatly, there was a case not long ago of a shelter filling up on bunnies...they began to give them away... this was put to a stop when the shelter found out the bunnies were for human consumption).
I so wish I were able to help you out!!! But right now, my hands are tied. If you need help transporting (yes, I know NM is the opposite direction of TX/PA) please, please let me know.
Best of luck to you, Thelmer, and all involved.

*Yes, I realize snakes must eat too. But from Rottieluver's point of view, I don't think she wants to see her bunny in that situation.
