Excellent news!! :D :D
Yay, Mitzi!
YAY! Go, Mitzi!
Redhedd, she is a very loved girl and she knows it - that brought her around the corner as well.
Please give her a scritchie for me? :)
:D She's chasing her tail again! :D Oh what a happy sound! I don't care that it was at 3:00 a.m. when she HAD to wake me up with head bumpies and purrs. Then she went to the edge of the bed to groom and then started playing with her tail, spinning around just like she did before she got sick.
After she tired herself out she came and cuddled. She's gotten very snuggly and cuddly after this episode - like she knows I made her better and she's showing her gratitude.
Right now she's sulking under the bed, though, because the vet told me when she started to feel better I could try giving her the vitamins again. Mitzi wasn't too thrilled with that plan  :p
I THINK WE ALL WOULD LOVE IT IF WE COULD TALK TO OUR CATS AND FIND OUT WHATS AILING THEM. AS IT IS THEY SOMETIMES HIDE THE FACT THAT THEY ARE NOT FEELING WELL UNTIL ITS TOO LATE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!
:( :( :( :( :(
What wonderful news :D
With our kitties we are creating little monsters! Filou also has to eat and so we jump whenever he's hungry. Result: he comes up to 3 times per night and asks his dad for food- giving headbumpies and purring and jumping on your breast if that doesn't help ;)
And he gets it, of course.
Good news Miss Mitzi!
I know how you feel. When they have been ill and start feeling better and we can see the improvement - it just makes your heart sing doesn't it?
Awww, Mitzi, sweetheart! You can awaken me at 3 AM with purrs and head bops any time you like. The only thing I get awakened for by Cassie Cat is ... FOOD! [She knows that if she picks at her supper, and then makes a ruckus in the early hours of the morning, I will feed her.] I am so glad to read that you feel well enough to chase your tail! Hughughughughug!
She's not out of the woods yet. I have a feeling it's the antibiotics again. She's hiding a lot, although she's still eating and drinking and snuggling at night. She'll emerge to eat, drink, pee and poop, but when she sees me, she seems to be scared that I'm going to try and give her meds and goes scampering under the bed.
I'm so distraught! Mitzi! Please get better! Please stop hiding :(
Awww....poor you and Mitzi!
Have you tried Pill Pockets with her? Then she'll see you as the source of treats instead of meds. :) Or is it the type of med you can't wrap in anything?
If the antib's are affecting her tummy a bit, try smearing some plain unflavoured yogurt on her paws and letting her lick them. Yogurt replaces the 'good' bacteria that the antib's kill (the meds are very democratic...). You can check on your vet with this too.
I'm sure she is just med-wary, that's all. Is she due for another checkup soon?
HUGS and more prayers for you and pretty Mitzi!
Of course as soon as I hit "post" Mitzi came out of hiding, meowing for me to play with her - she's making me cuckoo! So we had a lively play session with her chasing her favorite ribbon toy.
The vet was on the fence about pill-pockets because her stomach was so sensitive last week. I don't think they'd work with her anyway - she's such a wise little minx and would quickly realize that pill-pockets means meds.
I had a talk with her last night after I gave her her meds, letting her know that I know she hates them, but they're necessary to help make her better. Maybe she understood. Who knows what goes on in their little walnut-sized brains?
That is the sole purpose in a cat's life! (LOL)Quote:
